I don't think folks understand just how difficult it is to sing the way she does... it requires a special type of skill. And to do it sitting down at 16! Protect this woman at all cost!
I would like to share that there was a time in my life where I was completely broken. I didn't know where to turn. I tried crying out to family members and friends, that did not work. I finally cried out to Jesus, and he heard my cry. When the bible says God is near to the brokenhearted it is very true. I cried out to God in tears, and He eventually turned my sorrow to joy. I thank God for the gift of salvation that He gave me. Now I have a wife and 2 kids that God has blessed me with. Please stick in there and give God a chance to transform your life. Cry out to God no matter how broken you are.
Only 15yrs old..this girl ruled the 90s, God blessed her with a beautiful gift that can’t be taken away from her. Brandy still looks the same, sound the same like this is beautiful!!!
Brandy Rayana Norwood-you know that you gave that second verse LIFE!! Complete slayage! We need a reboot of this song! This was the song that made me fall in love with Brandy!
How do I get to heaven? Will my good deeds be measured against my bad deeds? Do I need to be a good person to go to heaven? How do I know if I'm good enough? Well the bible says no man is good, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So how do we get to heaven? Answer: By believing on Jesus Christ who took the punishment for our sin on the cross. There are no amount of good works we can do to achieve salvation because salvation is a free gift of God. We need to humble ourselves, realize we are sinners and that we need a savior. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave his only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
How can you not like the transformation her voice has made? She sings like a grown woman now! It's incredible. Her tone has gotten richer, her range has gotten fuller, her technique has become The Brandy technique as she has drifted away from sounding like others and sounding only like her. "Beggin and Pleadin" is ridiculous. No way little Brandy could have given as much life to that song as grown woman Brandy. I don't miss her singing like this at all. I want her to be herself and go hard.
The general public could care less how her voice sound if she isn’t panning out hits or emotional tones like this. Her music after her second album didn’t show that.
Wyane Hundredths I’d say after the 3rd album she started going downhill because Full Moon was her best album and she showed emotion on that album. The other albums were mediocre except 2/11.
@@ertfgghhhhmainstream girls weren’t wearing this style at this time….it was a huge risk at this time for a black girl to not have their hair in a wig or straightened…she definitely brought it to the forefront.
@@SoSillyWilly26 it was worn by actresses, rappers, and songstresses BEFORE her album came out...maybe! He first time that YOU noticed....but she was not a pioneer regarding braids
@@ertfgghhhh You’re missing the point. Nobody is saying she is the first woman to wear braids, she DID however pioneer it as a style that black women could wear in MAINSTREAM media formats. Again, black women could not wear these styles and be accepted alongside their peers of other nationalities. Sheryl Lee Ralph said it herself how she was so excited to see Brandy with braids on the show Moesha because she was told that she couldn’t wear braids a a young black woman on Broadway. What’s wrong with Brandy getting her flowers?
@@SoSillyWilly26 I did not miss the point. Of course, most of what we did was not accepted by white society. But we continued to do so and didn't stop. Which they later had to accept. But no way was she ahead of her time because adults were already doing it. Perhaps y'all are misunderstanding the term "ahead of her time". CICELY TYSON was a top model and actress in the late 60s who wore braids. She can be considered as ahead of her time regarding the hairstyle We disagree
Brandy. One of a kind. That 1st album blazed on so many different levels_its a classic. 2 facts: Conan O' Brien's band is completely underrated. And Max Wineberg. I love you bruh. Gets absolutely no credit for being a *groove his ass off* drummer. *Pronounced Pocket*. Um giving it to ya B. Peace.
My favorite album is Full Moon. That was when she was at her peak. She belted on every song. Her runs were legendary and she hit her highest notes on that album. It was almost like her range got higher on songs like When You Touch Me, I Thought, Like This, What About Us?, It's Not Worth It, Anybody, All In Me, and Can We.
I love this song. Damn first loves are hard to get over. Been there. Such a beautiful Performance between Brandy and wanya. Wanya is my fave man from Boyz ll men. Love this 💙💙💙
This is the original album version. The one featuring Wanya is the remix. I love both versions, but there are no words to adequately describe how awesome the remix is.
****note**** she is on Conan. As a pop artist. Black people are not allowed to sing this type of our music nowadays and be called pop, to borrow from Seren 'white people want their black music from a non black source'. How we have backslid. To be called pop, this song would have to be sang by a non black person now, and this is in 1995. Globally we are more racist fearful and hateful of blackness - which is synonymous with excellence - now more than ever.
Now I would have loved to have heard her and Wanye and her sing this, because they can do that intertwined runs...but I guess that when this show came up they probably weren’t dating at this time
I don't think folks understand just how difficult it is to sing the way she does... it requires a special type of skill. And to do it sitting down at 16! Protect this woman at all cost!
It's not difficult for her at all though. :)
Yes I do get what you mean. 😎
The way she played with the notes is flawless.
listen she went off she was feeling it she was listening to the music and just improvising her ass off amazing
Flawless Fr!! 😩🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gotta give the background singers props.. They did the damn thing as well

pay attention to the background singers they were super on point. props
They really were!!!!!!!!
I live for them!!!
Guess why her background singers were often older than her.
They had to match the level of her singing on live.
Yeah they saved this. Not brandys best.
@@jabarimoore3628 They didn’t have to save anything because Brandy nailed it.

She always sounded amazing live! She still does! 😩😩😩

Brandy’s voice inflections and vocal runs are GOLD !!

This is the moment it was official that she was my favorite vocalist of all time..still is
NEED to hear her sing this now!!!! I'd lose it!
Best rendition of this song.

awesome. her backup singers had some beautiful voices too 😍😍😍
There's the voice i fell in love with back then, flawless.
Brandy voice is the shit!
This is R&B, a real R&B
This song is my 💖 Kryptonite. She has an incredible voice and so much class in her delivery. I love you Brandy.
She was so ahead of her time with the twist braids 😍
No. She wasn't ahead of her time wearing Senegalese twists. We were definitely wearing different styles of braids- not just box or dookie braids

She really killed it with that Whitney run @ 2:09-2:14. She need to do that more often on her new album that she is working on.
I know right I was going off through the whole video, she needs to do a unplugged
EHQUNDEH
Yes I agree. I want her to sing just like this on her new album.

I wasn't a big fan of the album i used to have it but I'm gotta listen to them songs I love the intro and full moon and what about us
Vocals are on point! Love you Brandy
Keep em coming!!! Forever Brandy!!!
The 90's hair is back, I have those Shiny Twists right now. Just a lil llonger.

I love this song. Damn first loves are hard to get over. Been there. Such a beautiful Performance between Brandy and wanya. Wanya is my fave man from Boyz ll men. Love this 💙💙💙
She just slayyyyy 😍❤️🔥👏🏻
Janet made the hood chick braids popular in Poetic Justice but Brandy took it to another level lbda her braids stayed fresh and different
I can listen to this compared to what they play on radio now 👌👌🔴🔵🔵
BEAUTIFUL
Brandy Slayed Those Vocals, Especially 2:04!!!
Not really feeling the remixed instrumental. But Brandys vocals are so good for her age. She's grown so much !❤️❤️❤️
This is the original album version. The one featuring Wanya is the remix. I love both versions, but there are no words to adequately describe how awesome the remix is.
Yasssss she’s slayin everything in her path with double edged vocals 🗡🎶🎵🎶😵
Sis & that cold ass run she did @ 1:00
Brandy 🥺💜
The musicians are killing this (in a BAD way). But Brandy is flawless!
it is just me or it seems like the band and background singers sped up the song?
This the watered down version? Sound like the band on Five Heartbeats before Duck had to shove old boy off the piano...."it's my music JT"

Who’s still here in 2024?

i love Brandy I swear I do thats why I am here... but baby those teeth @ 1:27 and 2:08 lmao!
Jr Jr makeup made them that small? And why would she have makeup on her teeth? That's butter
💜👍🏾

2:40 Viola Davis is singing
Is that really her?
@@MoniMeka no lol
Now I would have loved to have heard her and Wanye and her sing this, because they can do that intertwined runs...but I guess that when this show came up they probably weren’t dating at this time
It’s several videos of them singing and performing this together around this same era..
at 1:53 I just threw this damn phone.. did y'all see her wipe the tears at the end ?
Yello, Looks nice. cough shallow What do you think...
I wonder why the backup singer at 3:42 tapped the other backup singer...was she off key or something?
+Robbie Hernandez I think she was letting her know that the song was about to end.
This is the version I love....could never get with that Wanya duet.
she wore braids like it was bundle hair.
Lmfao
It was this was 1995 duh
Sari Chanchez lmaooo ihu omg
Sari Chanchez I found out her braids were a lace front
The Royal Treatment Yessss!! Way ahead of the game.
Bitch I Was 2Yrs Old LOL
What's up with the jewis music? I'm lost.
I don't like the background singers
Pretty song, however she has never been the best singer... especially live
mzmack1920 She was only 16 here and she still killed this, not to mention she’s sitting down.
She was a kid her. Brandy is amazing live.
