I'm Japanese. When I listened to this music for the first time, I was hugely moved to tears.XD We Japanese have four seasons, and this band describe them very well. Beautifully bloomed cherry blossoms, summer heat cooled by evening shower, mountains covered with maple leaves which turn red, and snow falling silently. This song reminds us fragility and beauty of them. This emotion is called "a wa re" (あはれ) in Japanese ,which has been cherished for over thousand years. This band perform strong sounds of metal but express subtle, fleeting emotinons very well, which made me moved.

I’m finding a lot of good Japanese metal bands lately. Gyze, Nemophila, LyricHolic, Versailles, Hanabie., Lovebites I have all stumbled across in the last couple weeks.
Originally clicked on the video because i thought the guy in the middle (ryoji) was extremely handsome, and i wanted to know his name but after listening to the full song ive fallen in love with the entire band. I hope there will be more music soon !!!! 🫶🤍🫶

These men are very familiar with good music! I also noticed many X-Japan influences. I also suspect others, but I don't want to say. I may be wrong. 😆 But nostalgic, symphonic, melodic, folk metal is an amazing thing. I wish there were more. It's a very amazing when each culture mixes their folk music with melodic metal.

I've been listening to this song non-stop for the last days. I now read the lyrics, and they hit me hard: I'm currently living away from my family, friends, and girlfriend, this suffering a lot of sadness and solitudine. The last lines were so beautiful. I am so looking forward to the blossoming.

イントロの雅楽パートは久石譲さんのもののけ姫のイントロへのオマージュなんでしょうか？古からの日本の幻想風景！
メタルを主軸に置きながら、チャイコフスキーとかモーツァルトとかショパンとかっぽさが随所に垣間見えて、イングヴェイまで登場して(笑)
かと思えば中華的なフレーズをも挟んで展開することで東洋の風を感じさせて…しかし最後のフィナーレはまさしくシンフォニーでした！

傑作と言われるシンフォニーには苦難が伴う。失明した状態で作られたベートーベンの第9、完成まで何十年も要したブラームスの1番…このORIENTAL SYMPHONYも偉大なシンフォニーと同様、バンドの歴史や歌詞、PVから推察するに大きな苦難の末うまれた傑作だと感じられる。
東洋の交響曲は、一言で表すならば、GYZEとSyujiの歴史を描いた物語、突き詰めるならばとても個人的な兄弟愛を描いたシンフォニーだと思う。
般若の画を切り口に非常に厳かな日本らしいメロディーから始まるこの曲は、四季折々の情景と共にあたかもこのバンドの歴史を追体験するかの様な歌詞が続く。
一例を挙げるなら「揺れる鼓動 変わらないものを求めて」は海外メロディックデスメタルの高品質フォロワーからの脱却を、「出会いと別れを経て 人は皆強くなる」はバンド内での出来事を想像させる歌詞だ。
PVも見事なまで歌詞とリンクしており、想像力をかきたてられる。
愛や感情を歌う場面ではメンバー同士の抱擁、各々を大事に思うシーンや過去のライブシーン等を用いており、それは苦難を乗り越えた先の一体感を思わせる。
印象的なのは、6分手前の静かな所でメンバーの過去現在が出るのだが、Syujiの現在の場面では他のメンバーが呼応するかのように共に演奏し始めるシーンだ。私はこれを見て涙を流した。
また、Ryojiの何回も叫ぶ咆哮のシーンでは、最後のシーンのみ笑顔になっているのも大きな意味があると思う。
直前の歌詞の「遠ざかる民の群れ～」はSyujiから見た視点を、その後「遠ざかる民の声～」はバンドからSyujiを見た視点を描いてる様に感じてならない。その歌詞の接続詞や間の経緯は推測することしかできないが、非常に深い意味のこもったフレーズの後、最後の「皆の仲咲く花」はSyujiが戻ってきたことへの最大限の喜びと感じられ、だからこそ咆哮の際も笑顔なのではないだろうか。
非常に長文になったが、この東洋の交響曲は偉大な傑作として後の世にも響き渡るだろう。
そんな名曲に出会えたことは大変な喜びである。
