I already gave these two sketchy sketches away on Peter's Doodle Club here: www.patreon.com/peterdraws Quick, lose sketches like these are good for exploring shapes and tones and any sort of ideas without getting bogged down in polishing it off well. Things you can always come back to. This video is almost in real time, sped up to about 1.15x speed.
I've been watching you for like... 2 years? 3? I have no idea, but I have enjoyed it, and I certainly hope that (and do not intend to) stop watching you ANY time soon! You are an inspiration Peter, I really enjoy your videos, if you stop making them: I will be dissapointed, but sure that you are doing something cool, just tell us about it, actually, just don't stop making videos. That is a better idea. OK I'm dragging on for too long. Bye.
I wasn't trying to be sarcastic, sorry. I've been inspired by Giger a lot, but I just don't usually set out to emulate other artists, even though it's a good idea sometimes and I've done it before.
That commentary about the community of cars on the highway made me feel so weird and sad and lonely but also kind of happy. I like the way you see things. Also who else listened to the entire podcast while making art? 😅 (I should be doing homework)
Loved your video last month about how importing design applications from drawing into your painting practice and how that has lended you some additional vitality there. I wonder if you've ever inverted this formula? That is, making drawing more painterly. I don't fully know what that would look like, maybe drybrush with graphite or charcoal powder. Or maybe even putting mineral spirits to the
I have almost all of shel’s poetry books and many poems memorised. I always remember the poems based on the pictures he drew. I think when I was 7&8 reading them for the first time I cared about the pictures more, but as I grew to actually appreciate the books, the words are my favorite now.
Ok, I'm only like 6 minutes in and you just finished your story about your soccer team and I must say I freaking LOVE your podcasts!! You always crack me up some how every time!😂 I may not always watch them right away(some times a month later, but not this time!😁), but rest assured, I get to them as soon as I have some spare time to kill. You're so interesting and I love the random "content-free" things you cover. Keep em coming! Love you, Peter! 💜
I think Tove Jansson's illustrations for her Moomin books would be right up your alley. That's drawn in black and white and the characters in them are quite simple looking, yet they're very detailed in terms of lighting and linework, especially in her full page images.
I like to open up a second tab in my browser and listen to a lo-fi hip-hop radio RUclips channel at a lower volume simultaneously watching/listening to you, Peter, at full volume. Your videos make my work day a breeze. Thank You.
If you made a children’s book I would buy it. I wanted to illustrate children’s books when I was a kid and even wrote a letter to Eric Carle who answered me telling me to go for it.
My favorite children's book is The Mountains of Tibet by Mordicai Gerstein. It is a touching story of a man who promised himself his whole life that he'd travel beyond his small village, but when he dies and is given the choice to be reincarnated as any animal on any planet, he chooses to have pretty much the same life he had before.
I really appreciate your podcasts. Well, really I enjoy all your videos quite immensely. they help me de stress from school and work and stress. So yay. New video
Thank you Peter for making water come out of these eyes. I laughed uproariously and good naturedly. The commentary on sports and teenagers' decisions though!
What you said about the cars, I relate to that when it comes to music. Sometimes I get a little disappointed when I find out more about who's behind the music I like. I prefer them to be this imaginary entity.
ah singkamas! one of my childhood "snack" next to sweet potatoes and green mangos. best served with any kind of salt which complements its watery sweet taste. sure does bring back memories!
Ive had similar experiences with patchy cell service and no internet over the past 3 months. But on my last trip i noticed a campground that is over 300ft away had an open wifi for guests? I was surprised i could get a signal that far away. But It was limited to 2-3 mb/ps just enough to check emails. Ive been making lots of videos that i need to upload, but not on their network. lol
When I was a kid my favorite book was the Ghost on Saturday Night that had really creepy drawings by Eric von Schmidt. The newer editions have a different illustrator. The old one was great. Thanks for the awesome videos.
Im 38 now- popped my knuckles in high school, and my back and neck... my rheumatologist says I really shouldnt have done that. I regret it- I have major pain now every day!
Dude for real though. When you just get new glasses you start to realize how much you couldnt see. Especially the trees: you can see every individual branch for once which is amazing for some reason lol
Substance is the things you hope for and therefore it's substantial don't you agree of course you do you cannot argue with us no but they can who can argue with us I just wrote this copper ride copyright
To when peter was talking about nuckles he mentioned bringing your finger back flat against the top of your hand. That reminded me of my old friend that could actually do that because he was born without cartalige in his lil buckles the poor guy.
Hey peter man, in art today my teacher showed one of your videos it was pretty cool and i must admit i freaked out from excitement because of it. anyways that's cool.
I was sleeping while this playing on my phone and when you mentioned "singkamas", my Filipino urge was so strong and woke me up enough for me to say an audible word and woke me up entirely to realize I was talking in my sleep haha My mom told me she used to crave for ans eat singkamas while I was in her womb.
Eyedrops with antibiotics > go into blood > go into tongue. I had the same side effect with the pills, probably even the same antibiotics. Using the pills for your eyes only makes no sense tho.
Hey dude I was looking how to clean my janny backpack and I saw your video when you drew on it and that’s why I called jansports jannys now but anyway I’m now subbed and I love your videos great job
I can relate to you cutting your hand on a Mexican coke bottle my cousin told me I could do open my bottle with another one it was like 5 minutes before it shattered and cut my hand
I was totally empathizing with this podcast after getting glasses in 3rd grade and remembering how mind blowing it was to see individual leaves. I got Lasik not long ago and remember the bitter antibiotic and steroid eye drops. I also recently visited family (in China) and had no phone access. I have barely any sleep schedule and love being up at night. But if I was driving in the middle of the night and was followed for an hour, as a small woman, I'd be so terrified! Constant paranoia that it's a serial killer or something :o
Yep the ducts are connected Peter because I get exactly the same thing. I've been using eye drops lately (lots of hay fever with very dry weather this Autumn) and I can taste them. It's lovely being disconnected :D I only just got my digital camera out again the other day - I'd forgotten how to use it. Now I'm like a little old lady using my tablet for photos, pathetic lol :D
thank you for sharing my fellow human.. when i doodle myself i play your videos and enjoy listening to you while doing that. Wish you fast and healthy recovery from the eye lazer thing you did.. Unfortunately i try to avoid what you are doodling because i get too "inspired" and change the lines my hand wants to draw.. Greetings from Greece :)
The milk thing is completely true. If I choke on a drink (which I do with alarming regularity because life is hilarious) it comes out of my nose and eyes. So distressing and gross

I'd like to see you try your hand at an H.R. Giger inspired drawing. Seems right up your ally. Keep up the good work, buddy.
my goal is to do Peter Draws drawings
Well, you've accomplished that goal many times. Just trying to give you some ideas. No need for sarcasm.
I've been watching you for like... 2 years? 3? I have no idea, but I have enjoyed it, and I certainly hope that (and do not intend to) stop watching you ANY time soon! You should have Peter draws on the show more often.
That commentary about the community of cars on the highway made me feel so weird and sad and lonely but also kind of happy. I like the way you see things.
Also who else listened to the entire podcast while making art? 😅 (I should be doing homework)
I draw (if you can call it drawing) while watching his videos sometimes. Not this video though.

It always makes me smile to see a new video of yours Peter. Thank you!

That adamantium refrence brought me so much joy. And i know think the keystone city hat he has is a green lantern reference
you have such an amazing mind my God.
17:13 when you said y'know I had the urge to say yeah outloud.
Peter!! Always nice to hear you and watch you draw.
I think Tove Jansson's illustrations for her Moomin books would be right up your alley. That's drawn in black and white and the characters in them are quite simple looking, yet they're very detailed in terms of lighting and linework, especially in her full page images.
It's weird... I was thinking of listening to one of your podcasts but boom... Here's a new one
I like to open up a second tab in my browser and listen to a lo-fi hip-hop radio RUclips channel at a lower volume simultaneously watching/listening to you, Peter, at full volume. Your videos make my work day a breeze. Thank You.
*Yay. I got my daily dose of drawing*
Atomic Man but have you get your *Daily Dose of The internet* yet?
Thank you Peter! Now I can sleep without watching one of your old podcasts
I feel like I should have to pay for these 😅
Yes! My favorite series! Love you Peter and looove your art!
If you made a children’s book I would buy it. I wanted to illustrate children’s books when I was a kid and even wrote a letter to Eric Carle who answered me telling me to go for it.
What if you just drew the pictures for the children's book, and the children (or the adult) has to make up a story to go with the pictures?
Why aren't you a millionaire already. This is an awesome idea😀
Little late to the party but this was by far one of my personal favorite podcasts to listen to at work and watch again to actually see you draw.
I try not to watch devices in bed at night but there's no content so this doesn't count right?
I notice the add ons to sunnies
I really appreciate your podcasts. Well, really I enjoy all your videos quite immensely. they help me de stress from school and work and stress. So yay. New video
god bless you kind man
Omg that was so mean, I can't.
I wish peter could narrate my life
Reading all the comments, it's safe to say that Peter have created the best community
Knowing that people like you exist comforts me
Thank you Peter for making water come out of these eyes. I laughed uproariously and good naturedly. The commentary on sports and teenagers' decisions though!
I'm glad it went well with the eye surgery, and I hope the healing process will go well too. Another great video that I enjoyed. Have a great day.
Yes! I am so excited to watch this!
"A bag of coke" hahahahaha you make it sound like it's something else
Paul Bunyan had Babe the Blue Ox. John Bunyan wrote Pilgrim's Progress - easy mix up. I make the same mix up all the time.
Thank you Peter these are my favourite!
What you said about the cars, I relate to that when it comes to music. Sometimes I get a little disappointed when I find out more about who's behind the music I like. I prefer them to be this imaginary entity.
Chris Riddell is definitely my favourite book author regarding the illustrations in his books
so chill, love it
Obtuse, also its called a pistol shrimp.
I am straight crying over your eating rice description. That is my life EVERY TIME, and jasmine rice is my favorite too.
I'm learning a lot from you.
If you press the 10sek skip continuously it sounds like he is beatboxing. Kinda cool to see the drawing speed up as well. It is recommended to try. 👍

yeees my wishes have been granted. podcast time!!!
When I was a kid my favorite book was the Ghost on Saturday Night that had really creepy drawings by Eric von Schmidt. The newer editions have a different illustrator. The old one was great. Thanks for the awesome videos.
I, too, would like to get my glasses surgically removed from my face.
25:54 I love it. No disrespect, certainly, but for anyone who's seen I Love You Man, "Did you just call me Jobin?"
Im 38 now- popped my knuckles in high school, and my back and neck... my rheumatologist says I really shouldnt have done that. I regret it- I have major pain now every day!
That highway cruise story was moving, damn it Peter stop cutting onions!
Dude for real though. When you just get new glasses you start to realize how much you couldnt see. Especially the trees: you can see every individual branch for once which is amazing for some reason lol
"Oh look... that's where I was!" - Peter, 2018
Sometimes light is so
Bright it can be blinding

Paul Bunyan, not John
I love my kalimba! It’s pretty beat up, but I still have it 😊
Eyedrops with antibiotics > go into blood > go into tongue. I had the same side effect with the pills, probably even the same antibiotics. Using the pills for your eyes only makes no sense tho.
29:18 There is a small chicken in the middle of the drawing
relate so bad to the highway heartbreak part at 30:00
How do you record yourself drawing?? Do you not have to peek round the camera or something
i'm cracking up at the rice clogging part. relatable.
Hi from Spokane
Happy New Year 2021
Hey dude I was looking how to clean my janny backpack and I saw your video when you drew on it and that’s why I called jansports jannys now but anyway I’m now subbed and I love your videos great job
I can relate to you cutting your hand on a Mexican coke bottle my cousin told me I could do open my bottle with another one it was like 5 minutes before it shattered and cut my hand

The milk thing is completely true. If I choke on a drink (which I do with alarming regularity because life is hilarious) it comes out of my nose and eyes. So distressing and gross
i get the rice thing with bread sometimes.
Enjoyed!
I still have a film camera! 😮

Evan Deitrich
Lol :D
What size pen do you use?
sinkamas are actually radish :^D
Yessssss!
Holy shit I grew up in Hope! Dingy doesn't even begin to describe that Hopeless little town. It's gorgeous to visit, but miserable to live in.
what kind of pen are you using?
The rice thing happens to me with other foods, I don't think it's actually happened to me with rice before. 🤠
For the benefit of Mr. Kite there will be a show tonight on trampoline.
YES
You are a Nexus 6 now yo.
You should paint some cityscape with lens flares.
@49:40 singkamas !! :o
Loved this vid/podcast as always !!
#notificationsquad
edit: oh ok he said it after that it was singkamas xD
