Freezeezy Peak to me always sounded like the opening of a Christmas movie. I hear a lot of Danny Elfman influence from the structure of the song, which makes sense due to Kirkhope having named him as a major inspiration.

Banjo and Kazooie are separate sprites.
Yup, and their pupils are transparent/use the BG color. Precisely the sort of trick that Rare could've pulled on the NES. Bravo!
To clarify for those who are unaware: The NES had a hard limit of four colors per sprite, including - if desired - transparency.
In the image used for the video, Banjo uses a pink-ish skin tone, red-ish brown and blue plus transparency, and Kazooie uses red, yellow and orange plus transparency, perfectly adhering to the NES limitations.
And in case someone brings up the Blue Bomber: Megaman actually uses TWO sprites for the titular character, splitting him into the body and his face.
@@BrightSpark One problem though: The eyes wouldn't show up correctly on stages that don't have a dark background like Mumbo's Mountain or Treasure Trove Cove.

kazooies use whatever 3rd color her pallet has

Another great 8-bit rendition! I'm also happy to see you're using my 8-bit Banjo-Kazooie sprites for this. Didn't really feel the needed to be modified, but your edits looks nice regardless.
Thanks and great job on them! I don’t think they had to be modified, but it was just personal preference/going with the flow of the artwork.
