Excellent, this and the previous one. I'm a fan of Lenovo's business computers and am looking at one of these for my daughter to use for her school work. Your videos have left me confident it will work out nicely.

Glad to hear it helped. They would work well for general Office type software, but running advanced spreadsheets might be a bit of a challenge. What grade is your daughter in? My kids are all grown up and I plan on building a moderately high end PC for my granddaughter early next year when she starts grade school. Probably a bit more than she needs, but I will make a video about building it. Also, I can't let her start school without something impressive 😉

Thank you for a very well put together, easy to follow and informative video. Aside from the simply fact of not being an IT expert and the idea of messing about inside any computer case being inherently scary, my big sticking point would have been how to put Windows back onto it - essentially how to clone your drive onto it and not be facing a blank slate with nothing on it. You made it so straigtforward that you're inspiring me to go ahead and upgrade my mini PCs SSD to 1 or 2Tb.
I have 8Gb of RAM and may or may not bother with that as I don't use it for massively intensive stuff and it copes well as is, although that looks to be pretty straighforward to swap over too.
    Cheers, Ian

If you want to know which are the best processors for this PC in addition to help for the (m73p and m93p) they are:
    i7 4765T 35w (The lowest consumption and performance of all i7 4th)
    i7 4785T 35w
    i7 4790T 45w
    i7 4770T 45w
    i7 4770S (Best in performance) 65w
    i7 4790S (I don't recommend it but it can handle it) 65w+
There are xeon processors that are similar in performance but the integrated ones are not very good so to speak.
The rest of the processors (without letters or K) require modifications for the original adapter, which is a PSU (65w). I recognize that any of them are good depending on their use and most are expensive in price (all those with T) and yes. When you buy the 65w ones you have to have a good air flow type because they will heat up with the mini heatsink and fan that these 2 machines come with (I hope it helped you!!)

Can you explain your comment about not being able to get a RaspBerryPi any more?
For the price you paid compared to a Raspberry Pi it is a huge upgrade. You would need to buy Power, and case for a RP which does not include an SSD or upgradable memory. It should make a nice little unit for many things.
I understand many Display Port adaptors have some barbs on them to prevent the connection from coming loose. People that do not know this have damaged the connector when trying to force the removal. Does this adaptor have the barbs?
Can the adaptor be used in both directions, ie can you use it on a Monitor display port vice one on a computer.

    • @PE4Doers
      @PE4Doers  Год назад

I meant that comment based on the discounted price I got when I actually bought the unit from NewEgg. Of course once I upgraded it, the price exceeded the current cost of a Raspberry Pi. Sorry. I will have to check on the Display 'barbs' - I guess I'm so used to using those connected I never had an issue. I will comment to this comment once I look. No, that adapter only goes on one direction - from DP to HDMI (according to the Ad, but I did not test that.
