The DLC adds 91 hours of play time, 90 of which are Ripley's Junk Quests.

You finally get Ripley's armor in the game, turns out the leg armor only goes halfway up the thigh and the butt is just built into the chest armor

I always love hearing about Jewish holidays/food. The way folks describe them is always wild and then you look them up and it's still wild but in a completely different, theology-ish way where there is like 1000 years of history and background and debates about what the wild way the post described it means and I love it.

Jacob is right: the reason why Ranni lies about her name is because she's been missing since the murder of Godwyn. She looks completely different because her soul is in a doll's body so by adopting a different name she's completely incognito. But if she went around telling every random Tarnished that she's secretly Ranni in disguise the Black Knife Assassins would be able to track her down. And then where we would be? At the Kingsrealm Ruins, looking at a dead troll, feeling all sad. And no one wants that.

Also, the reason why Ranni introduces herself like that is because she's basically a terrorist fugitive whose originally body was destroyed and her mind transferred into an artificial one that was modeled on a lady named Renna. I feel like it's reasonable to expect her to introduce herself like that considering her circumstances.

I vividly remember that my childhood friend (unfortunately, he moved way and i haven’t interacted with him since) introduced himself saying that his last name was “Sonic,” in reference to Sonic the Hedgehog (since he really liked sonic) and I only learned a few days later that his last name was, in fact, not Sonic.

I would like to point out that, famously, there is an expository NPC in the base game. He's not a cleric, but he is there. His name is Sir Gideon Ofnir the All Knowing. It is that man's life's work to spill all the tea. He's basically your in-game history professor. It's just most people never showed up for class.
Suggestion: Holidays as Dark Soul bosses.

Instead of an NPC that makes up fake exposition to trick you, that stuff should just be written down in scraps around the world. We could call them Patches' notes.
A traveling cleric that writes articles on common misconceptions and history, but some of the articles he's left behind are correcting errors in his previous notes. Many of them, actually. It's become such a problem that he'll reward you for returning any outdated ones to him.

If people are interested in the lore of Elden Ring the 4 best creators on RUclips are: VattiVidya, SmoughTown, Tarnished Archeologist, and Zullie the Witch.
Elden Ring lore gets a lot easier when you actually listen to the things people say. Like for example. In the same scene where Ranni reveals her true name. She also says she's the one who created the black knives. And if you remember what the one guy said in the intro sequence. The night of black knives caused the shattering. So Ranni understandably hides her identity from a tarnished who would more then likely want to kill her on the spot and only reveals her identity in a place where she can kill you on the spot.

Suggestion: Mash up two characters with the same name, e.g. Napoleon (Animal Farm) X Napoleon (Napoleon Dynamite), Hades (Hades) X Hades (Hercules). On another video where I suggested this @evah4431 came up with Spike (Cowboy Bebop) X Spike (My Little Pony) which is also great.
My impression was that Ranni was going by Renna because she committed the crimes that set the stage for the games current events. I think it's supposed to come off as irrational behavior unless you dig a little deeper with Rogier's quest early on.
Most people miss that detail because it's part of one of Elden Ring's notoriously easy to miss NPC quests, where you have to talk to Rogier and Fia multiple times in multiple situations before speaking to Ranni in her tower, or you miss the entire point of her introducing herself as someone else. (As far as I can tell)

Many of the NPC names start with G, R, or M because George R.R. Martin worked on the story. It is an extremely stupid and confusing tribute.
i thought it was going to be a numerology/arithmancy thing bc R and M names are very common among children from parents into that sort of thing. turns out its even stupider.
in universe it does also seem to follow a pattern where Marika and Godfrey's children have G names, Rennala and Radagon's children have R names, and Marika and Radagon's children have M names
Well more accurately, Martin built the world, but Miyazaki created stories which destroyed that original world
GRRM was confronted on that in an interview and his answer was basically "Oh, I did that? Huh."
