The Twilight debaucle cracked me up. So many people were mad that a palette based on the THE FIRST MOVIE ONLY, did not have the colors from other movies and books. Like what?? Then they were mad it sold out. Now they are done with Colourpop. And I'm over here, like, so are we done with Bellabeautebar, Ensley Reign, Makeup By Mario, ABH, ect? Cuz they always sell out. Colourpop said there's a restock coming so what's the issue? Also, if you all don't like the makeup scalpers prices, don't buy their stuff and wait for restocks. People spending $300 on a $30 palette is why these people do it. Stop overpaying for palettes so the greedy resellers have to go get a job like the rest of us.
@@Lynnonymous i think it was be great to feature each movie. however after this incident and knowing that Twilight and the entire saga was HUGE 10 years ago... Ohhhh CP is receiving heavy blows from consumers.
Same here. Even though the mix of topics are very relevant to each other, I feel like I'm in a different mood for Industry News than I am in for new products. I love the Sunday morning report with just industry news. I definitely am more apt to watch both fully, I seem to accidentally leave videos unfinished & just never go back...
The first round with Colourpop, I was 5 mins late for the drop... sold out. So with the Ulta drop, I had notifications.. it popped up, I clicked it right away, and just like that, it was sold out. I heard about the scalpers selling them on Ebay, which I will never do. I also heard of people buying 4-5 paleetes at a time, etc. Limit 1 per person, maybe???
I'm still waiting for them to start construction on an Aldi store closer to me. They announced it last year, and haven't even started prepping the lot. It's surprising because they seem to have acted quicker than thought possible for another in my area.
lol I always see random reviews like that on sephora that aren’t even about the product. It’ll be like I’m giving this lipstick 1 star because I dropped it and it’s broken 😂
The Twilight Collection - Colourpop messed up immensely. They didn't limit the number of purchases per person and has resulted in the collection ending up on Ebay, Mercari, Poshmark etc for 3x's as much as what they were selling it for. And leaving people like me not getting it. Even though I was in line, waiting to PAY and then it just *sold out*. Then the Ulta launch was a MESS. Ulta lying about the launch time to EVERYONE. Overall, it was a MESS! A HUGE mess. they even posted an IG about 'don't worry, it's being restocked, don't buy it on Mercari for 3x's the price' ....they SAW it was being resold for 3x's as much. I hope they learned their lesson. 12 years ago, Twilight WAS HUGE! And they wee getting that demographic that literally read the books, watched the movies and fell in love. I remember not being able to see the premier of New Moon because it sold out within seconds of tickets going live! Like, that's HOW popular it was!
They went through this with the original Sailor Moon launch. They didn't limit quantities people could buy, it sold out in a few minutes and hours later were being sold for inflated prices in places you mentioned 😑

I belong to a PMG fan group on Facebook and one person posted that 3 of the shades were from Bijoux Brilliance eye palette (the Bridgerton-related one) and the white/beige shade was from the 18-pan limited edition Mothership palette that was brought back from the vault.
@diamondinmyeye6160 Tbh I don't know. My PMG mania only started when her products became available at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Ipsy because the prices were just too expensive for me :D
@@annamendoza3479 My comment was pretty rhetorical. She does sometimes, but rarely in smaller shades and even new seems to look like old. Motherships seem to have the most new ones.
The twilight palette reminded me too much of aurora palette shades, so I wasn’t interested getting the repeats. But I feel like there should have been some shade of red, since the first movie did have a strategically placed a pop of red in every scene.
I love so so much to hear you giving the advice of really considering if something is suited for you before spending your money. What a refreshing change from how things used to be! I have been thinking a lot about YT of 2013-ish to 2020 when I was a regular watcher and big "collector" (consumer 😢). I bought everything, all the warm tones, all the orangey oranges, reds and browns on recommendation and trend following without considering what best suits me. I had so much product sitting around that I just never messed with because it didn't look "right". Now, I know I'm a deep winter and those just weren't in my best color palette. Something we didn't widely take into consideration as a community. Even though I am a firm believer that anyone is free to use any colors that bring them joy, I also know that there are others like myself who liked to have things just to have them but wouldn't use them if they didn't feel they made them look their best. Most of the time, back then, not really getting why. I'm so glad we are collectively learning more about color seasons and how to choose makeup for that instead of for trends.
Twilight is my generation is still my obsession. The color story of the eyeshadow palette looked beautiful. I am mad that it’s sold out in like under five minutes because of all the scalpers buying it and then selling it 10 times the price on eBay.
This feels like the first Natasha Denona cheek pallette that may actually be flattering on deep skin tones. Past palletes always seemed over edited in photos and ashy in person.
With fully hooded lids and deep set eyes, I often use a contour tone on my brow to get it lifted, pushed back look. That physicians formula product looks sweet!
I was looking at hotel reviews for a girls holiday and this really angry review was super mad because the hotel had no FOOT towels, or soap bar holder... It said people must not shower when they stay here how can people shower without a foot towel... And what am I meant to do with my soap without a soap holder 😂🤯. You know it is funny - I'm on a low buy for foundations this year. I am only allowing myself to buy two - I already know which two I want. About-Face and Prada. Two completely different price point, but OMG am I excited!
I got the about-face foundation and it is my new favorite foundation. It is exactly as described - lightweight, feels good on my skin, and super buildable. They call it medium coverage and I think that's accurate! Held up all day too
I have a couple Lash Princess mascaras that I don't use cuz they smudge and flake so bad on me, so I'm definitely interested in trying the new primer type products!
I would say the Iconic london brush is shaped like that a little more to perfect the tip of the nose. Just my opinion, after I looked at it for a sec that's what made sense to me. Love u Jen 💓 😅
I really think that essence COULD do that if they rlyyy focused on CONSISTENT quality. When they nail it, they nail it but they can be so hit or miss. I think a major redeeming quality of ELF aside from price is how few misses they have. They are in the pulse of the market for their more original releases & know exactly what to dupe & give an alternative option for. Then most importantly they NAIL the formula.
Hi Jen. Colour pops giveaway are for US people only. Considering how many countries they ship to this was a very poor response to sell out. The ulta stocking is also only good for US customers so they have pissed off a lot of customers with this poorly done release
I actually feel like the tarte maracuja concealer doesn't have many fair shade options which they usually have so many of but they're definitely doing better including more of a gradient range and more deep shades, personally I love tarte
I was honestly surprised by how quickly the hate came for the twilight collection. I guess I was just accustomed to the insane makeup launches of the past (conspiracy collection) that I knew this would sell out quickly and I was able to snag the items I wanted before they did.
For the twilight movie thing, Colourpop had posted on their story a google sign up sheet, i belive you had to be from the los Angeles area to attend. One of their representatives would email you if you were invited
See, I'm German and normally we have to wait until a product is available here so it's always so funny to me when American youtubers are like "here is the new Essence product!" The black collection was released somewhere around November here. Sold out pretty fast though.
I felt kinda bad because I managed to get a pallet and the body oil but like no one on Instagram managed to get anything. Tons of people on Facebook did though What's even funnier is I woke up like 2 minutes before the launch and still got it 😭
Ulta dropped the ball on this. The put out the wrong time for the release on their IG. So theirs more to the story then what you covered. I absolutely love reds & pinks but on my skin they turn orange & it makes me soooo mad! I want to be able to wear them 😞
@@dchmom04 the Nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk makes a good primer for pastel shadows, so might work for pink, and might work for red. Buying it in red would probably be a great option for both colors.
I’ve been using the Laneige lip sleeping mask (berry version) for awhile now and while it’s a decent lip balm/moisturising product, I honestly get better balm effects from the Vaseline Lip Therapy range for a fraction of the price. I’m prone to crack lips and apply a lip balm every night before I sleep as part of my nighttime routine. It’s not a rare occurrence for me to wake up the next day with dry, chapped lips the next day when using the Laneige product (which I’m currently trying to use up, because it’s exclusively my nighttime balm, so I use it only at home and don’t bring it out, so it doesn’t get used up quickly lol). With the Vaseline lip therapy, however, I almost always wake up with my lips still feeling moisturised (or at least jot the same level of dry). It costs less per product amount, and since it comes in smaller tubs, the tub is used up faster, meaning quicker turnaround and hence fresher product.
I use the laniege as a lip balm more so than a lip mask at night bc of those exact reasons; like why would I want a lip mask tht leaves my lips drier in the am!! Seraphine Botanicals FruitButter lipmask is my go to at night! I'm prone to chapped lips as well.
@@misshell2223 i have a sample size that i received as a gift-with purchase kind of thing that i keep in my bag as a carry-around lip balm. For some reason it seems harder/more solid than the large tub i keep in my nightstand. But it’s similarly unimpressive as a lip balm as it is a lip mask. Okay, but nothing special. I’m okay with them considering i bought the large one from an atrium sale (shorter expiry date sale) and the other as a freebie sample, but i would definitely be annoyed had i paid full price. Haven’t seen Seraphine products where i live but it sounds like a fantastic buy!!!!
I used to wake up with cracked lips too with Laneige. I now use the TonyMoly Watermelon serum on my lips as well as my face and then either Vaseline or Aquaphor on top. Heals overnight
Jen, Pat McGrath eyeshadow quad has all FOUR existing shades. The lightest one from past year's holiday launched the other three from December 2023 holiday launch.
Great episode! There are several very creative content creators who have duped that Twilight palette beautifully! But, I am not attracted by the IP or the nostalgia, so obviously I don't understand the pull to Twilight.
A lot of people have been cutting their brushes like that to nose contour it was trending on hack videos a couple months ago, also a lot of us contour our nose and don't use highlighter it is very common
The nose counter is for the bronzer /counter and the you apply your highlighter down the middle . Problem With the brush is that not everyone has the same width nose
I'm 58 and agree that I don't get the Twilight thing. I am obviously not their target audience. I am not that attached to anything like that to lose my mind over any collection. Then again, I'm old. Lol Thanks for your information always!!
Funny story.. you were showing the 'face balm'. My 5 year granddaughter had been a ad for it and took her lip balm, smashed it in her hands and then proceeded to rub it all over her face!! When I could stop laughing I asked her the point of it. She proudly said now her face won't Crack in the cold!!! 😂😂😂😂
The new brush with the nose contour you dip in your bronzer. The dented piece gets no product, it helps to created a sculpted nose but obviously doesn’t work if you don’t have a straight nose lol. Might be for those just dipping into contouring to have a starting point. I really liked the look of the colorpop twilight palette but didn’t see it till it sold out. Looking forward to the restock
Glamlite needs to pay attention to Ulta and how they are releasing summer items in January. Glamlite should have started their horror releases for Halloween sooner than the end of September. They should have started in August, if not even sooner so people could have had their horror releases in time for Halloween.
9:05 I'm not a fan of Kylie, but I am a fan of this shade range. Between them and tarte it's taken too long, but it does feel good to see 16:32 I hope essence also grew their shade range 17:53 I do want to try those flakes 👀👀
i’m confused why there’s not a red? like the movies tint is blue, sure but like their were more colors and more references to colors. reds, ambers, browns, greens, blues.
The Twilight books were amazing. I remember packing one of those books with me everywhere I went. I remember taking it to the dentist and him saying his wife did the same. Loved the movies too though.
I got an email of a restock on Ulta, literally clicked the link within 5 seconds of email arriving, boom! SOLD OUT again. But there are people selling the palette online for $200 (and selling MULTIPLES) -So frustrating!
I'm not a Pat McGrath fan but I do have a couple of her palettes. I'm glad she didn't put "Celestial" or "Seduction" in the name. She recycles words almost as much as she recycles color stories.
I’m not a super fan but I was a fan back in the day, I didn’t hear about this collab or see it until now. But those colours!!! Totally my vibe!! I’m totally in love with this palette and now I have to act a fool trying to get the restock 😂
I never got into twilight. I was just past their demographic and i was broke. If it had come out when i was in high school then i probably would have been obsessed
I did think that the color story for the Twilight video was bland and not fitting, but looking at it again. And the swatches. It looks way prettier than I originally thought.
I really wish Essence would do a black eyelash primer. I'm currently loving the Too Faced one but if Essence (or Elf lol) did a black one I would be so in. Emma x
I tested the Prada foundation.. tested it everyday for around 10 days. I just could not get it to work. Maybe it's my skintype? Or the skincare products? I don't know. But whatever it was, I just could not get it to work. I was so disappointed because of the claims they made. Basically, long story short, it was patchy and within less than 30mins after application (I noticed this while I was finishing off my makeup), it became "cracky", as in the layer formed what looks like micro-sized scale shapes on my skin surface. Similar to when you have too much skincare underneath foundation and it starts to congeal somewhat.. but it wasn't the texture.. it was the actual way the product sat and set. And believe me, I do wait 15mins for my skincare to "rest" and dab my face with paper towel to remove excess surface oil. Im no makeup artiste but I know my face, skin, and makeup extremely well. Needless to say, I'm disappointed in the product performance and won't be buyung. Will stick to my Dior products 😅 With that said, i am still very interested in watching your review of the foundation! Please do it if you are indeed getting the foundation, Jen!! ❤ Greetings from Germany, Fiza
I'm not a massive Twilight fan but the repeated bumbling of colourpop and their unwillingness to limit the amount of product of one person can purchase is an issue. The problem as I see it is that this allows scalpers to come in and purchase as many products as they want for resale on other websites. The jack up the price to hundreds of dollars. It's ridiculous.
I can think of highschool friends that will have lost it over the twilight makeup but may have missed out, especially being in the uk. Looked really pretty but i wasnt gona fight to get it online. Shame on the scalpers. The face balm reminded me to use my elf one... some of us have faces/noses that crack in the cold!😅 Edit: wow the black to pink stuff looks so cool and fun! Looking forward to seeing others show it working! Makes my emo heart so happy! Might just have to get it myself! 🖤
I think a red would've been great for the first twilight pallet since one of the iconic images for the first twilight is hands cupping an apple. It was the cover for the first book and they even have Edward do it in the first movie. The pallet was a miss IMO.
Been a Twilight fan for 16 years and I got what I wanted. Only didn't get one thing but Colourpop always releases things so it's no big deal. People are so dramatic
I like the two part “what’s up”. I couldn’t care less if Jacqueline hill or anyone else gets sued into oblivion. I’ll probably listen to both parts though 😂
The tart concealer looks like tarte have now gone the other way with shade, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of light shades, I’m quite fair and the fairest looks white and the second lightly seems too dark 😩
Could you please check on Pat McGrath? The feeling is that Pat herself stepped out from the work and managers are running her company copy-pasting pinks into new releases...
I'm so excited that I managed to snag the whole collection! You can't please everyone because people wanted more red/neutrals but then when they do a colab that's mostly neutral people complain it's boring. I'm glad they went with the colorstory they did it's unique but also makes a lot of sense for the collab
Pat McGraths new eyeshadow quad consists of 3 previously released shades. They are already existing in her holiday palette which was just on sale for much cheaper than the quad!!! Shady.

@@dchmom04 the Nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk makes a good primer for pastel shadows, so might work for pink, and might work for red. Buying it in red would probably be a great option for both colors.
Mon Breakfast news!! Thx for starting off my day with product report info!
It's too pricey for the ingredients in it. That's why i never buy hyped products on social media.
I used to wake up with cracked lips too with Laneige. I now use the TonyMoly Watermelon serum on my lips as well as my face and then either Vaseline or Aquaphor on top. Heals overnight
🤭 The Pat McGrath palette are actually existing shades lol! Sorry Jen. We can only laugh at this point 😂
I was just gonna say that
Jen, Pat McGrath eyeshadow quad has all FOUR existing shades. The lightest one from past year's holiday launched the other three from December 2023 holiday launch.
I got such a kick out of your baseball field reference hahaha
Great episode! There are several very creative content creators who have duped that Twilight palette beautifully! But, I am not attracted by the IP or the nostalgia, so obviously I don't understand the pull to Twilight.
A lot of people have been cutting their brushes like that to nose contour it was trending on hack videos a couple months ago, also a lot of us contour our nose and don't use highlighter it is very common
The nose counter is for the bronzer /counter and the you apply your highlighter down the middle .
Problem
With the brush is that not everyone has the same width nose
I'm 58 and agree that I don't get the Twilight thing. I am obviously not their target audience. I am not that attached to anything like that to lose my mind over any collection. Then again, I'm old. Lol Thanks for your information always!!
Retailers are going to have to limit the purchase of multiples. And as consumers, we have to stop paying crazy markups to the scalpers.
This!
I got the sephora favorites. Those lips liners made my arm burn. I haven't tried it on my lips yet.
The Child restock (several years ago) took… I want to say 6 weeks? So I’d guess within that time frame for Twilight.
I'm with Ulta. I'm in South Dakota and based on our current weather -13 right now. I would love 90 right now.
They put a link on their IG story for LA locals to be entered in for a chance to do the screening!
That purple palette is stunning.
Jen, you should watch Kackie’s review of the Prada makeup. Apparently (from Kackie, Charlotte Holdcroft) the foundation is gorgeous!
9:05 I'm not a fan of Kylie, but I am a fan of this shade range. Between them and tarte it's taken too long, but it does feel good to see
16:32 I hope essence also grew their shade range
17:53 I do want to try those flakes 👀👀
i’m confused why there’s not a red? like the movies tint is blue, sure but like their were more colors and more references to colors. reds, ambers, browns, greens, blues.
The Twilight books were amazing. I remember packing one of those books with me everywhere I went. I remember taking it to the dentist and him saying his wife did the same. Loved the movies too though.
I CAN’T HANDLE THE KERNING OF THE ABOUT FACE AD 😭
I got an email of a restock on Ulta, literally clicked the link within 5 seconds of email arriving, boom! SOLD OUT again. But there are people selling the palette online for $200 (and selling MULTIPLES) -So frustrating!
Interested to see if the Essence flakes compares to Danessa Myrick
The countered nose brush is probably for blending cream sticks.
I did think that the color story for the Twilight video was bland and not fitting, but looking at it again. And the swatches. It looks way prettier than I originally thought.
I like the videos split up! Good choice.
I’ll stick with my elf. Most of these prices are insane ❤
I would use the nose contour brush purely for blending and not applying product. Not sure how good it would work though
fyi, I LOVE the formula in the prada eye palettes
Does boba complex in the O/S primer have any real benefits? I can’t find anything about what boba complex is
I knew I loved you Jen. Team Jacob all the way!
Great video thank you 💜🌻✌🏻
I really wish Essence would do a black eyelash primer.
Will stick to my Dior products 😅
With that said, i am still very interested in watching your review of the foundation! Please do it if you are indeed getting the foundation, Jen!! ❤
Greetings from Germany, Fiza
I had no idea Twilight fans were still so rabid. I just wanted the lip oils... and maybe the highlighters. 😅
I have very hooded eyes and never wear eyeshadow but I really want that Twilight palette. I was team Edward and that Edward shade is gorgeous
I can think of highschool friends that will have lost it over the twilight makeup but may have missed out, especially being in the uk.
Looked really pretty but i wasnt gona fight to get it online. Shame on the scalpers.
The face balm reminded me to use my elf one... some of us have faces/noses that crack in the cold!😅
Edit: wow the black to pink stuff looks so cool and fun! Looking forward to seeing others show it working! Makes my emo heart so happy! Might just have to get it myself! 🖤
There have been brushes like the Iconic ones before and they never work as well as they say so they always end up disappearing after a while 😬
I think a red would've been great for the first twilight pallet since one of the iconic images for the first twilight is hands cupping an apple. It was the cover for the first book and they even have Edward do it in the first movie. The pallet was a miss IMO.
Been a Twilight fan for 16 years and I got what I wanted. Only didn't get one thing but Colourpop always releases things so it's no big deal. People are so dramatic
27:06 the sigh of relief when Jen disclosed her fake lashes 😅😂
I like the two part “what’s up”. I couldn’t care less if Jacqueline hill or anyone else gets sued into oblivion. I’ll probably listen to both parts though 😂
I love love love Twilight 🖤
I know I said this in the top news half, but I really like the 2 versions. Anything that makes it easier for Jen is a great thing!
The tart concealer looks like tarte have now gone the other way with shade, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of light shades, I’m quite fair and the fairest looks white and the second lightly seems too dark 😩
I really liked the twilight collection, I really wanted it. I think the colors were pretty cool
Could you please check on Pat McGrath? The feeling is that Pat herself stepped out from the work and managers are running her company copy-pasting pinks into new releases...
The entire first movie had a muted color story, there was little to no red anywhere in it, what are people on 😂
Also Team Jacob is the only right answer. Lol
Shady.
Props to you for liking the movies; I couldn't even get through the first ten minutes. I did read the books though.
