@MetalSalvation I heard he was having trouble playing the dbl bass clean and were "doubled later somehow". Do you happen to know exactly how they did it? I've always been curious
Humbly I gave Dave my respect when I ran into him backstage in 1991 walking around at MSG, NYC after meeting the band at HMV records. By the way Dave and Tom (Araya) really down to earth nice guys. RIP Jeff Hanneman
Dave Lombardo...super nice guy and the one drummer I stole my speed and licks from in the 80s. I got to hang out with him in the early 80s in the "Hell Awaits" days. He was a huge hardcore punk fan and watched us "Final Conflict" rehearse one night.
Well Paiste RUDEs like the ones Dave uses are pretty loud cymbals, so if Dave uses them in the studio too it's almost no surprise that the engineer had trouble recording them. I think he's taken to only using RUDEs live and 2002s in the studio which is probably a better choice.
Dave maybe cant remember, maybe because he was focusing on his job, but i do! Tom spitting on the crowd just to challenge us to do the same... all together! hilarious xD (and yes, imagine Tom covered by dozens spits, happily smiling )
Oh come on, anyone who thinks John is just a shredder should check out some of his other songs, I.e- Noche Acosador, Ashland bumb, Behind the nut love, The castle or 2 die 4.
Argh, these interviewers sound like teenagers sometimes, always expecting talk of sex, drugs, excess and decadence. "It might have been coke"... sigh. Dave and John and many of your other guests are mature, experienced, intelligent musicians. Just let them be themselves, don't try to steer them down the road of "Did you ever throw a TV out of a hotel room window?"
+Kaliber Rose Yeah I've noticed that they have that problem. Much as I respect their enthusiasm and knowledge, they should make more of an effort to let the guys finish.
I love TMS and John 5 is an awesome guitarist! There is one the that bugs me though. I here comments like i have no vices because i'm vegan. I just gotta say bullshit, everyone has some kind of vice! I also say who gives a shit if someone is vegan! hell i love bacon but i don't make a big deal about it! ;)
I hope that engineer never worked again after that. That's a horrible excuse, and should never have happened. They should have pulled out and recorded with someone else soon as he mentioned recording the cymbals seperatley.
RICKY Martin ????? Really john... Of all the albums you made with all type's of people you had to say THAT was your favourite one to work on? You could not of just played along and said i liked working with ACE FREHLEY.... geez!
God i wish we could get a reboot of this show on like Netflix or somewhere.
I'm down with that!
I agree Netflix or tubi
fuckin a how come nobody picked this up...fuck mtv and vh1
Agreed, seems it would be to good to come true. Let's all pray. They always cancel the best shows. Not even sure why it's not on anymore!?
The drums on seasons in the abyss are one of the finest recorded performances in metal.
Seasons is one of their finest albums
Chris L gotta agree
Dave is great, but the double bass drums on "War Ensemble" were sped up, therefore fake.
@MetalSalvation I heard he was having trouble playing the dbl bass clean and were "doubled later somehow".

John 5 is a monster player. Dude is so diverse it's scary.
Best show ever. Bring it back 😢
My favorite slayer song is seasons in the abyss
We're proud that the Metal Show is back 🤟🤟🤟👹👹👹
John 5 Ahhhhhhhhhh what a gorgeous creature....and VERY talented.

Ashes to ashes final conflict?
@@jlobiafra That's me!
@@dirtydave2691 cool! You guys were awesome
Wonderful to finally see Dave on here...thankyou.
Dave's a beast!!
I'd love to see John and Dave play together . Both very talented and can do various types of music
John 5 is awesome!! I love a guy who loves MUSIC more than anything. You can't hold back his creativity and that is real!! Zombie to Ricky? How cool.

Rob Zombie doesn’t have ravenous fans anything like Slayer did.
John 5 is a monster guitar talent. As long as "HE" is enjoying the fashion thing, who cares what other people think. Your opinion = ZERO
Auen73 John ZERO. My opinion = 5
I see what I did there, and it wasn't pretty...
+Auen73 whe I see him at a meet and meet iam offering him 400 for that hat.
John 5 is a beast

ForViewingOnly Not to mention they kept interrupting John and Dave consistently when they were trying to answer the questions.
+Kaliber Rose constantly; not consistently............just sayin
matt roz works just fine.......just saying.
Kaliber Rose hahahahahaaaaaaa meant no disrespect
+Kaliber Rose Yeah I've noticed that they have that problem. Much as I respect their enthusiasm and knowledge, they should make more of an effort to let the guys finish.
John 5 needs to take those ashes and mix them in epoxy and make a guitar body out of them, that will be a one off guitar haha
I love johns hat I believe I will buy one.
same here

Show No Mercy = Best
Rob Zombie on Ricky Martin, then Dave Lombardo on Justin Bieber.
I know this was 5 years ago but a question that should have been asked was. Have you ever had to make lemonade out of lemons?
You don’t deserve this video
John 5 looks like Johnny Depp
ikr
Looks like he dressed to pay homage to Lemmy
The energy is really weird here.
Mr. Gwarbq shouldn't try that facial hair style until he is old enough to grow real facial hair
Fortunately the guitars and screaming are so loud the cymbals are barely heard.
I hope that engineer never worked again after that. That's a horrible excuse, and should never have happened. They should have pulled out and recorded with someone else soon as he mentioned recording the cymbals seperatley.

i mean, he's allowed to say whatever the hell he wants to say
LMAO
World painted blood? Only couple good songs on there.Best album with Dave is Season's
Progressive Realist
Correct.👌
That's Dave's opinion man, it was Jeff's last album so it was special to him, WBP is not my favorite Slayer but I thought it was amazing.
WPB is way better than the embarrassment that's Repentless
All band members always say the new album they are promoting is their favorite for some reason
Eddie trunk is sooooooo anoying!😝
Awful interviewers.
