After YEARS of playing this game, only today while grinding did I finally find out about pinning locations on the map, 100% on my own I might add. I sign off, scroll through RUclips and come across this video, which is the very first time I have ever heard someone bring this up. What a strange coincidence!
there are 3 goods spawns all for different reasons. 1. viking bay: lots of recourses but mainly the crates with metal tools for really early game. 2. highlands N (my go to): the wales on the beach are free hide spoiler meat and keratine in early game and there are some easy acces metal notes (there is also crystal very close if you play with awesome spyglass mod). this way you can get a pte very early on and move off the beach on your first day. 3. (the one from the video) for metal I usually go to death mountain or the side of the mountain all the way east on the map. obsidian also on death mountain. crystal, I usually get some daily in like the middle of thw canyon there is a pillar with water in (this is were the artifact was before the desert from ragnarok got finished). when taming a grifin you could make it a little bit bigger using 7 pillars 9 ceilins a dinosaur gateway and a gate and make like a 3x3. this way its more easy to lure it using a pte without the risk of dying yourself or without having to damage your armor. you can get charcole from the dead trees near the volcano. in the desert there are red seadrops with good loot. 5/6 will normally spawn. for beaver dams you can go to the lake showed on the video. the lake very close slightly east of the first lake and another lake across the mountain on south also very close. there are more oil veins (im not at my pc right now but I will edit this comment with all the coords when Im at my pc) thats it❤
There is an island just north of the swamp. Just at the mouth of the canyon. There is a hidden cave with a metric f ton of metal and obsidian. The cave is hidden on the cliff side, you will have to smash some rocks because they are hiding the opening of the cave.
2 great other crystal spots: 1: Along the border of the snow and desert biome, a lot of crystal spawns here, barely and danger, but not really concentrated into a single spot. 2: A cave in the desert. Find one of those cracks with a river beneath, almost like a underground oasis, then go north until you see a central area of the river were there is a waterfall and a big skeleton. Then, go east and boom, there is a cave with more crystal than you will ever need.
@@ConCon there are some crystals at the jungle close to the ruined bridge also at jungle spawn one there are tons of metal rocks like I gathered 1k metal Ingots from them in total
Just got started 2 days ago and man have I been dying a lot lol. It's I threshing though. Still getting the hang of it. Started out at viking bay 2 and kept dying from eurypterids. Just wading around on land.
RE: Crystal - theres absolutely plenty available near the ridge in the south west part of the map. there is a broken bridge (part of the map, not player-built - featured at timestamp 12:12 ruclips.net/video/dyN4Gtb5V88/видео.html) adjoining an island with a waterfall there, and it's right next to amazing base building locations. personally i prefer on top of the plaza there, but there is also a cave underneath the waterfall that is absolutely massive and great for storing tonnes of dinos. there is crystal on both sides of the plaza, including in the nooks underneath the waterfalls themselves, as well as a little cave, all the areas around contain metal and the areas on the west side of that little plaza also has obsidian too. best accessed with an anky carried by a quetz, but once you have a decent flying carrier of any sort you can do all the crystal under the plaza solo without a quetz by just using a cryo for the anky. as far as fliers are concerned, whilst there are no snow owls on this map, if you have access to them via a connected series of servers, they are by far and away the best way of getting around the map. it's absolutely vast, it takes a long time to get from one end of it to the other.
i remember that around the ruins on right up corner (from spawn you go down on map to grass and then left on your view, after some running you should spot an observation tower) and on way to it theres a small spot with tons of rare flowers
viking bay is the best theres 2 land caves neaby theres 1 water cave in the middle of the bay aswell as a under cave just north west of it and towards the snow mountain there is a jungle mountain cave just before the snow hill while having pterandons , trikes , etc
spawning near south jungle location will start you near the blue obi where on the outer shoreline you can acquire metal tools/crossbows/pike from crates. I build a modded raft/boat fully contained as a starter mobile base - plenty of designs available - then head down the coast to veg island which has a small lake in it's centre. Island has metal and obsidian - no predators whatsoever - will have to travel to mainland to get loads of wood - tame a ptera on the island and an anky for farming metal/berries/obsidian/flint/stone - next tame on priority list for me is argy which i usually set up dino gate trap on mainland. Use the ptera to agro argy into dino gate trap. After this i would aim for doedi as you then have the ability to farm most materials and then get a beaver (doedi and beaver can be picked up by an argy and then dropped into an enclosure to be tranq)

@@ConCon Grappling hooks and any flyers introduced after ragnarok are supposed to be deactivated in the cave. I used a beezlebufo. Small and a big jump.
Map pins are Y on switch you may have to hold L I can't remember. There's a cave under the bridge around 20. 20. At the bottom a river comes out towards the ocean there's little islands in the river covered in rare flowers and metal all over
the first spot you picked out for metal, best base location for a new player...go south /southwest up that hill....go to the waterfall, there are 2 caves loaded with it, as well as a few places in the ocean... almost every resource you need is a short run south, and near where the wyvern hang out, in the desert or on the edge of the redwoods/snow bioms.. that huge flat part up that little cliff at the start has only one downfall in PVE...carchs allows or gigas can spawn off in the distance but usually run off after pteras or get stuck in the canyon near the crystal spots, easy targets.. but yeah, build right there and mostly you will just have to deal with birds and horses making noise but no other threats
What tames would you recommend for each artifact cave? I was originally thinking to just fly in the caves with my wyvern but some spots look really small, but if i used a pteranadon itd probably die from the wild creatures
In the second area to get metal it is very difficult because of the carnivores so I didn't go there until I had something to defend me aka wyvrens but they suck at defending once I get off of it
Glad you liked the guide, I will maybe do those 2 in the future. The reason I have not done them is because I never fought bosses on Valguero and barely made it to stone base in extinction haha so I'd have to learn those 2 in detail before I can make a helpful guide
I spawn at were they say to spawn on ragnorrook because at the blue Pont there is a good spot to build at first and there's creates that wash up and can give you iron hatches picks and swords and I have seen a Titaniasour over were he say to spawn and t,Rex's and other big predators
This just happened while I was playing the Ragnarok map of Ark, my character ended up off to the side while riding - to the right - and I think it happened while I had the map out. Anyone know how to get my character in the correct position?
There are some cave in the game where you can’t use grappling hooks. Try climbing picks, or you can get a mod like utilities+ or reusable+, which I think lets you use the grappling hooks everywhere.
Im playing singleplayer on this one. And i have gone to soooo many loot creates at this point, but none of the weapons or gear is of high quality. Do you maybe have an idea to why this is? and how to crank up the quality? like all of my drops have stone pickaxe with 137 dmg at best :(
What server settings are you using to get 19 level 350 therizino's? with my server settings that's gonna take me weeks to achieve and my rates are about 1.25x so pretty close to vanilla, is this game really that much of a grind?
@@ConCon found out I had my tames to close to the water so the boss wouldn’t spawn, thanks for this video bro I would never have gotten through these caves without them
@@ConCon Looks like its a server setting, i've talked to the Admin so we'll just have to wait and see. Getting to that small box at the beginning of the desert cave is tricky without it, but can be done.
@@nathanbarker8849 don’t worry if it’s not working go to engrams form the setting besides advanced and go unlock it from there if your playing a server than ask the admin to do it or the host

Switch players is the y button
For Xbox you can use X to pin on your maps, For PlayStation you can use square I’m pretty sure, and for switch use Y I’m pretty sure. Hope this helps!

There is a crystal cave, north of the dragon nest,(South of the map), two of the opening is accessible by flying, and on foot on the west of the cave
Good video, I just would have like to have had a visual on where you are on the map for each artifact.
Open your map, press P, type in the coords I gave and it will mark it on your map for you.
theres a cave near viking bay that has crystal too and theres obsidian and metal nearby

Can't fly in caves. Use a smaller strong tame. Megatherium is great for bugs, thylacoleo is great too

If you upload and then download it from terminal I believe. Some things can't be moved though

Loot crate quality in the map settings is how to change it
the ice queen didn't spawn for a couple of min. is it normal to take 10 min?

30k HP is a good standard, you also need good saddles with high armor 100+
do you know where to get good stuff like ascendant shotgun/crossbow etc?
Find red drops, some caves have great ones.

With wild creature levels 150-180 dinos you should be reaching around 300 with decent amount of mutations in hp and melee to do the bosses

I don't see the point in wyverns other than just to have them. They don't really help yo beat the map and griffins fly faster.
Yeah its more of a pvp thing but even then I don't like wyverns that much either
