She reminds me of a very nice doña that made us food everyday when I went with my parents to do medical service, she made me feel in contact with my origins (when I was waaay little we used to go very often to pueblos were I met friends and people that felt more like family than anything else) I almost cried while watching this, I miss that feeling of community that I had back there, people patting my head while we were collecting water and tell me “ ay mija, que fuerte eres!” And just laugh at me struggling but refusing help, the elders giving me more food and telling me all about their sons and daughters. Gosh I miss going to pueblos were everyone is a big family.
I too miss that connection. Also it is interesting that many researchers now believe that to heal trauma the right brain must be activated. That talk therapy alone won’t heal someone.
