Haha, thank you Tim!! The Jeep turned out great and yeah, no neighbor of the year awards over here!! It was so loud with just the headers on it. I drove it around the block and passed a group of kids who all had their hands over their ears!! Thanks for checking out the video and for the comment. JD
God Bless you and your family JD! I've been following your channel since the first video, I believe when you were in Alaska. If my memory is correct I've known you since 1981 back in the day when you still had hair!! Not only have you created an awesome RUclips channel, but you have been an inspiration to me and a lot of others throughout our lives. Keep up the awesome videos and thanks for a lifetime of friendship.
Looks good! Glad everything is coming together! My condolences for your mother-in-law, though. My family suffered a loss recently too, and it's especially hard with everything going on right now, so I hope you all are managing okay. Keeping busy on projects helps a bit--so I'm refurbing the mirrors and hood tie-downs on my CJ7 today. I was going to guess a late-60s Camaro but someone beat me to it. :)
Hey Mike, yeah it's been a little over 3 years working on this Jeep and it won't ever end but the main things should be completed in the next week or two. It's quite an accomplishment!!
Followed all your vids, thanks for documenting everything! Would love a vid on total price of everything to see how much a full restoration would cost.
Hey Wade, thanks for watching the channel. Interesting idea to do a video on how much things cost. I actually have maintained an Excel spreadsheet with every expenditure on it down to the penny! The total cost is shocking. This certainly wasn't a budget build. Let me think about this....thanks again for your support.
Amazing work you're doing out there man! What you have done with the jeep is simply incredible, such dedication and perseverance, admirable. Keep it up!! Greetings from Mérida, Yucatán, México!
Jd I’m so proud of you and that Jeep it’s been great watching you get it from where it was to where it is now I read one of the comments and that was a good idea about what you got in that build I know it was a lot cause I did one myself so sorry about your family problems that’s tough also I just hope from now on it will be smooth sailing you definitely earned it the very best of luck to you my guess about the car 70 Camaro
Randy I really appreciate you brother. Thank you for the kind words. I can't believe so many people are guessing the car correctly!!! It's a 78 Camaro!! Thanks again for all your support. It means a lot.
Is that PSC steering box worth it? My Cj7 has some slop. Added a stabilizer and rebuilt the front but still a little more loose then I like. NICE JEEP!
Worth every penny. I rebuilt my front end as well but it wasn’t until I put in the psc box that it tightened it up. Steers amazing. No slop at all. I know they are pricey but it will be the last steering box you buy for your Jeep w their rebuild program (ask them about that). Put a psc on my 78 camaro and it had the same awesome results. Hope this helps. JD
Did the PSC steering pump bolt up to the 350 bracket or did you have to make a custom bracket? I also have an 83 CJ-7 with a 350 and would like to add the PSC assist setup. Your CJ-7 is outstanding, very nice work!
V Sternberg Thank you sir. The factory 258 brackets would not work. I put a march serpentine pulley kit on it and used those brackets. Also note the psc power steering pump designed for the cj would not fit on the 350. I ended up ordering a new one from summit racing. Their brand. Check out the prior video where I install the March pulleys and I go through the issues. Thanks.
Great video John, It was exciting to watch the first test drive, all the hard work definitely has a huge payoff. I thought of a film idea for the next mystery project, that is to mount a time lapse camera on a wall and turn it on when you work on the project. Anyways look forward to the next video installing the roll cage. Cheers!
It's a 1978 Camaro! Great guesses. I did an introductory video on it a couple weeks back so it's on my channel if you want to check it out. It's a solid platform to start with.
@@JDOffline I know I'm a still bit behind but almost caught up.... BTW guess what I have in my garage too. Yep 1978 Z28 Camaro I bought off the showroom floor.... my next restoration project as well.
Hey whats the oil pressure on cold start and warmed up at idle with a mechanical gage on that crate 350. The reason i am asking because i am a little concerned with my oil pressure on my crate 350 the oil i am using is Castrol oil 10w 40.
Whats the oil pressure at idle and i am using castral gtx but 10w40. The reason i am asking all this because my stock crate 350 at cold start its at 50 to 53 psi and at idle warmed yp its at 21 to 24 psi with a high volume oil pump.
Just headers right now, I have 2 flow master 40's I'll have put on at the exhaust shop hopefully this week. It sounds awesome with just the headers but damn is it loud!! I think it will sound better with the mufflers on.
Bench bleeding it back to itself. Essentially hooking up an old brake line, cutting it and feeding it right back into the reservoir. Once you get some fluid in the main master cylinder it bled with no issues. Tricky to do for sure. Thanks for the compliment on the Jeep!!
The glove box I had airbrushed by a local guy in Jefferson, GA. I had a picture and he did an amazing job with it. I thought it was a nice touch for the Jeep.
Congratulations on getting the Jeep on the road. It looks and sounds awesome. Been a real project. I've enjoyed watching your progress. Now that it's almost done, how much do you want for it? Just kidding!!!!! Jim
Thanks Jim!! It's been a lot of fun and I've learned so much. Confidence builder as well. I won't ever sell it!!! Haha. Thanks for your continued support.
Hey Chip. That is a good guess based on the body lines but it is a 78 Camaro! Tune into the channel and check out how the build is coming along, I've made a good bit of progress. JD
@@JDOffline lmao! my mom couldnt figure out how i could tell her what kind of car was in our rear view mirror just by the head lights, in like 3rd grade.. idk bro... i just kno... So... being seperated at birth u possibly might think how i do... i would buy a 70s Camaro bc my wife wont allow the budget to allow for a 60s 396ci camaro.
You are a wild man driving on the grass in a neighborhood like that! HOA Alert! Even if the neighbors don't like it, I think the jeep looks great!

Nice video and the car looks like a Camera or Firebird I am thinking mid 70's to mid 80's.
Good call, it's a 78 Camaro! Check out the channel for the build series on the Camaro. JD
Aaaah nothing like start up day! Ive waited months..to hell with sprinkler heads..
This was a good day for sure!! JD
As we get closer to the finish we can see how much more there is, would like to send some pictures of my CJ. Trying hard.
Sure thing Gary! Send them to JD_Offline@yahoo.com
Congrats on the build!!

I don't think I have taken an exact measurement but I think its around 50psi.
Around 50 at cold start, now what oil are u using
Dynamite BMX Gaming just started it up cold and it’s running 55. Castro’s gtx 10w-30 as recommended by gm.

What exhaust system are you running on this beast
Came to ask the same thing... sounds excellent.
Just headers right now, I have 2 flow master 40's I'll have put on at the exhaust shop hopefully this week. It sounds awesome with just the headers but damn is it loud!! I think it will sound better with the mufflers on.
Great looking Jeep, what was the secret to getting the hydraulic clutch to operate?
Bench bleeding it back to itself. Essentially hooking up an old brake line, cutting it and feeding it right back into the reservoir. Once you get some fluid in the main master cylinder it bled with no issues. Tricky to do for sure. Thanks for the compliment on the Jeep!!
Where did you get that glove box door? Or how did you make it? That’s real nice
The glove box I had airbrushed by a local guy in Jefferson, GA. I had a picture and he did an amazing job with it. I thought it was a nice touch for the Jeep.
JD Offline looks great brother!
What lift did you use ? Brand ?
BDS 4 inch suspension lift. I have a couple of videos on the lift, check them out if you want to.
Mid 80's Corvette?
Hey Tim, it looks like a corvette under the cover for sure but it is not! Great guess.
69 charger?
I wish!! 78 Camaro.
Camero
You are correct Sir! 78 Camaro!
Have you received your wiper switch yet? I've been waiting 6 weeks.
Yes, I got it fairly quick and it worked and installed perfectly.
I've got one ordered through Quadratec and one from Summit. No luck.
