I went from boxing for about 7-8 years to MMA when I was In my 20s. One thing I learned from different gyms is that boxers tend to spar MUCH harder/intense than most MMA gyms. I got a few ass chewings in MMA training on stand up days for matching peoples intensity and lighting them up now and again like we would in the ring. I still think boxing can be a much more chess like, intelligent sport and it's more difficult to get by on raw power and natural talent. An experienced guy with alot of fights is more often a big hurdle in the boxing ring, where in MMA you are much more likely to get lucky with something or just blitz the shit out of the other guy. Still love MMA but boy do I miss boxing. I could still train and maybe even compete (I'm only 31) but it would be just for fun for sure. But we don't have any legit gyms where I live now just places that train really young kids for fun mainly. Great video, I fought as a super welter and am only 5' 6" so I've been against many taller guys. Never did truly get the knack of it though as my fairly shit record will attest. I never had trouble with guys my height or maybe a few inches taller but as soon as they hit 5' 11"+ I would always struggle getting inside.
All boxers concentrate on is boxing. Every little mistake costs a boxer immensely. MMA has its own level of techniques. The variations are divided and not as concentrated. Boxing’s just more in-depth in fewer areas. Many different postures in MMA. We train all combat athletes so we know the difference well. The difference is the details. 👍🏽
They're not supposed to spar hard. They're just under the wrong tutelage. Maybe you should investigate using a sparring system. If you need help, let us know champ. We want your experience to be memorable in Boxing or stand up.
1:01 The problem I have is everytime I step in I can't seem to land head shots because he's always leaning back even when I counter I seem to miss just about a couple of cm. How do I fix this other than going for bodyshots until he stops leaning back.
I vote against shell protection, you have to be very, and i mean VERY experienced, to successfully block combos with this. The results of using it without being experienced is on the video, clean jab in a head
This dude is actually a really good boxer thanks for the tips
His rolls are good

Shorten the stance and don’t forget to bring the backfoot forward with the step. Might give you those extra cm you need.
Thank you for sharing.
It took me about a minute to know there are subtitles.
Amazing video!

I'm struggling I'm 5.8 sparring a much more experienced 6.3 boxer
Oh no!! Have you used our Sparring Training Program on the website that shows you how to fight taller fighters?
Is the taller guy just inexperienced or is he taking it easy?
The way he constantly lifts his rear foot I'd say he's not yet experienced
🙏🏽❤️
the micheal jackson song in the background 😂
If you cant get inside (as the smaller boxer)??… is it too little experience and i need to train/spar more?😅
yes. just keep up with training watch videos and ask your coach/coaches for tips

Is the tall guy going in half speed lmao
Lol I thought the same
Maybe fatigued
I am usually the taller fighter and am really comfortable using my height but on the rare occasion I box someone taller I feel very gun shy
