hi, I am doing this event next week !! What gloves were you wearing. I bought a 3mm neoprene gloves but it is very thick !! was your watch alright after the race (no scratches or cracks) ?
Hi Kannan, sorry but I cant remember what make the gloves were. I just got them off of Amazon. They are great at protecting your hands, but they really make monkey bars harder. A lot harder I find. I havent used them this year as I really struggle on monkey bars with them. Watch was fine, no issues.
Rocket Runner hi, thanks for getting back. The gloves I bought has a little sticky grip on the palm side, so I guess it will make the monkey bars difficult as we need that fluid movement to swing. If it restricts then I will have to get them off. What compression base layers were you wearing? Looks like weather is going to be a overcast.
I think its the combination of mud and water you often get on the bars that doesnt grip well with gloves. At least, thats how I have found it. I just find the bars much easier with out the gloves, but for most of the rest of the race, the gloves were handy. My only tip only the base layer is dont buy one from a Chinese based shop, as I think their sizing is way different to ours. Although I am a larger chap (6'4") so that probably doesnt help with Chinese sizing. Personally, I would go on to someone like Sportshoes.com and see what bargains they have, as they often have mega deals on last years models clothing as well as shoes. I have got many a running bargain from there. Any decent branded base layer should be fine. If you are doing an ocr then there is a good chance the clothing will take a battering so not worth spending big money on it.
Rocket Runner thanks a lot, I am checking icebreaker or smartwool for a merino base layer, as you said it is expensive. So might go some rash vest or polyester base layer from under armour. I get a fair idea now 👍

Some rubbish one I bought from ebay. I would not recommend it and I must get a better one :-)
Was this filmed with a head or chest harness?
A head strap. I find my arms flap in to view with a chest harness
