No band came close to the brilliance of The Clash, I was lucky (old!) enough to see them live half a dozen times and Joe's last London gig when Mick joined him on stage. Met and talked to Mick once when I went to see a Clash tribute band; down to earth, friendly and still cool as anything.
Mick Jones has aged so gracefully...of all the original/prominent male punk rock participants (the original women have had an exponentially higher level of gracefulness AND post-music career successes IMO). Mick just comes across as that unbelievably cool Uncle who lets you flip through his vintage Stax 7" and, patiently answers all 37 questions you have about pretty much anything and, nothing. The jovial Uncle who will pull out a '57 Les Paul Jr from the closet so the two of you can jam together along to his Kinks and Mott The Hoople LPs...letting you borrow that $15k guitar until you are "ready for your own!" He's just super happy and content to take on the role of the "wise elder hero" with incredible grace and dignity and, humbly accepts the importance and responsibility that the "job" entails. It's really awesome to watch...I think that his guesting with Joe prior to his death was a tremendous exhale for both of them. That experience seemed very important to each of them. With Joe's passing and, with Mick's own brush with death years before...maybe Mick is thankful to have the opportunity to be THAT GUY...like Lee Dorsey or, John Lee Hooker...musical minstrel. Like Ronnie Lane's father telling Ronnie that he would always have a great friend if he had a guitar.
Drives an s type jag like the Krays and wears suits like a London Gangster witch in a way He is,,,, RESPECT x x the CLASH LIVERPOOL ERIC'S 1978 I was 14 and YES it WAS that amazing in a tiny club I have never forgotten it!
I was at that gig too. 15 had Matinee session. Last train out of Birkenhead back to Deeside, north Wales. Terrifying dodging the mods and skins back home.
This would have been an awesome video of the person holding the camera would have left their trap shut! Let the man on stage sing the song. At least he knows the lyrics!

There seems to be a good atmosphere ...: A tribute to Mr Joe very nice! But just, I wonder why every time I see Mick in a recent video he wears a horrible suit-tie too tight?!? He had more taste 40 years ago ... (I think that's what Joe would tell him if he was in the audience😂😂😂). RIP Joe !!!
He's Mick Fucking Jones, mate. He's earned the right to do and wear what he pleases. And he's consistently cool and humble. Which, for a legend like Mick, is pretty fucking rare... So let's show the proper respect for one of the true greats!
mick jones is so cool. How awesome would it be to be in that room. Well done Sir.

I was there - was an amazing night and beautiful tribute to Saint Joe!
SOULJAHZ ROCKERZ
Yet, Mick Jones originally sings this song, not Joe. But Joe would be smiling about as another Clash song being played live.

That's perfect. Adding anything would be like penciling a mustache on the Mona Lisa

True legend of rock 'n' roll, Mick ❤️
Some people would point out the slight mistake, others, like me, are in awe that he is still performing, and enjoying himself.
Love U Mick, from Argentina
Humphrey bogart with a fender thinline “heart attack machine” with a voice every bit as original as his live by the river pal .
Mick my dear friend you still got IT brother
My Top 3 favorite guitarists of all time:
