New 2025 Audi RS Q8 Performance Revealed

For the year 2025, Audi's RS Q8 receives a significant upgrade, introducing a new Performance model that rivals the Lamborghini Urus in power. Historically, both the Audi RS Q8 and the Lamborghini Urus have shared a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, but the Lamborghini has always boasted a substantial power advantage. This changes with the 2025 RS Q8 Performance model, which now delivers 631 horsepower-40 more than the standard RS Q8 and just 26 horsepower less than the 657-horsepower non-hybrid Lamborghini Urus. However, the new plug-in-hybrid Lamborghini Urus still leads with an impressive 789 horsepower.
The 2025 Audi RS Q8 retains its Quattro all-wheel drive, eight-speed automatic transmission, and twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. The standard model continues to produce 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The Performance model, however, benefits from a new exhaust system that is lighter, louder, and reduces back pressure, increasing peak output to 631 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. An optional RS sport exhaust further enhances the vehicle's aggressive sound.
Audi claims that the RS Q8 Performance can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds, although previous tests of the RS Q8 have achieved this in 3.2 seconds. The Performance variant includes a height-adjustable air suspension with revised tuning, standard 48-volt anti-roll bars, and four-wheel steering for improved agility and stability.
Standard 22-inch wheels are featured, with an option for larger 23-inch forged wheels, which Audi claims reduce unsprung mass by about 44 pounds. The RS Q8 Performance also includes 10-piston front calipers and available carbon-ceramic rotors.
Visually, the Audi RS Q8 sports a revised front end with a new bumper, more prominent air intakes, and a grille with a new mesh design. The Performance model is distinguished by a matte grille bezel, Matrix LED headlights, and optional high-beam laser lights. The vehicle also features OLED taillights with five selectable light signatures.
Inside, the RS Q8 offers red or gray RS design packages, with contrast stitching, microsuede wrapping on the steering wheel and shifter, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster called the "Virtual Cockpit." The Performance model adds an exclusive shift-light indicator when in manual mode.
Currently, Audi has only released details for the European market, with U.S. specifics expected in the coming months. The previous model started at one hundred twenty-six thousand nine hundred ninety-five dollars.
