57:07 I definitely get what you mean, but vand de ven ran at the ball against man united and ran the length of the pitch for a brilliant assist. Furthermore, the midfield and fullbacks seem to get ran through whenever they're sluggish leaving the center backs hopeless regardless. I think it's unfair to fully blame the center backs pressing when there is multiple lines of press getting played through like it's nothing.

Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham .... great to see how these teams are playing and challenging the established top sides. Really exciting season and I hope a watershed in the league. Pep has been very successful and effective with Man City, but he brought a style of play, that others tried to copy, that for long periods of play is boring to watch during the backwards and sideways movement from side to side whilst probing and creating the gaps. The more direct play that other teams are beginning to be brave enough to try is really refreshing and much better to watch.

Speaking from a Chelsea fan's perspective. Brentfords set-piece coach arrived in the summer, and if you look at the stats our set pieces are improving (albeit slower than you'd ideally want) specifically our defending of set pieces. I imagine it'll take time to see obvious improvement in that area.
Regarding the issue of big teams marking Cole Palmer out of the game. Maresca's solution that leaves Gusto with tons of space only brings issues because of Reece James' fitness imo. In an ideal world it'd be him in those advanced areas (and it would be devastating to the opponents were he to have that much space), but its unclear at the moment if he has the fitness to go up-and-down having come back from a long string of injuries, hence why so far this season we've seen him tucking in as a 3rd CB to save his legs. If we can see James in the "Gusto role" as the season develops I feel those big teams will be unable to stifle the team by solely targeting Palmer.

Brentford have arguably gotten exactly the points they should've been expected to have gotten ... Their away form is not (yet) a massive concern when you actually look at who've they're played on the road as of yet ... Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Tottenham and Fulham ... and you could make a reasonably coherent argument that they probably would've deserved to go home with *something* at both visits to Manchester, and very nearly got away with theft-of-the-year against Fulham ( ... on the reverse, you could equally easily make the argument that Crystal Palace had deserved something from their visit at GTech)
Brentfords big problem this season (as of yet) is that we're still without any highly enough skilled Fullbacks, and frankly haven't been ever since Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey got injured last fall, so in every game it's a bit of a roll of the dice as of who's playing on which side... as of yet we've had two CBs (Ajer and VanDerBerg), a midfielder (Janelt, Mr.JackOfAllTrades) and a winger (Lewis-Potter) together with our 3rd/4th choice Fullback (Roeslev) who tries his best, and usually just about gets away with being 'serviceable enough', but ultimately probably aren't at the Premier league level.
Unfortunately Hickey got re-injured in his rebuild, but hopefully Rico Henry is edging closer to being match ready, at which point I expect Brentford to be able to clam a bit down, and not in the same way looking after scoring loads of goals, since we know that we have to given our somewhat makeshift backline

I'm not sure why we're not talking about Villa's poor form more. We've been off it since the tail end of last season and if it wasn't for Duran's incredible goals and some comebacks, we would be well off it. I'm incredibly worried by our complete inability to keep a clean sheet too.
If this poor form continues then things are going to be worrying because we currently have no players playing consistently well.

45:50 blaming the team for Hojlund being too low iq to make proper runs and prefer to wrestle is wild. The guy has 0 striker instinct, all his runs are timed wrong, in poor areas or just blocked off. His anticipation is poor, movement, first touch and positioning even worse. Its on him to make the runs. A striker makes runs to be found not the other way around and you can see Haaland make the correct runs every single time in those positions.
He's the worst striker technically in the league.
He's short to every cross or blocked off. Aerially he's poor and loses every duel. He never knows how to find space in the box. Every pass directly to him bounces off his trampoline touch.
"No service" is the biggest myth being spread that don't actually watch the matches every week. re villa we have decent players but lack creativity with 1 top level winger baily who is off form , and our only top level no 10 rogers is a mile from the finished article , 1 point off 3rd sounds reat but we had a cushion on teh teams around us but draws against ipswich man u and bournmouth and defeats against spurs and liverpool have allowed the pack to catch and just about overtake us , for 2 years we have been winning games (averaging 2pts a game) 4 ways 1/ playing very well (not so much this season ) 2/ having Watkins when the opposition did not have watkins (he's had a bit of a dip in form) 3/ bit of luck at times (late goals opposition misses..) 4/ emery being a top coach (still is but others have caught up very quickly)

1:07:45 Does this guy actually watch United?? Outside of the Spurs game (and the huge mistakes in the Liverpool game), United really hasn't been that bad as a whole. Blatantly robbed of a point against West Ham and very, very unlucky to not get a result against Brighton. Get those 2-4 points back and we're right up there near 3rd. lmao The only massive deficiency is the goal-scoring; tons of chances are made but there's no one clinical enough to finish them. Saying that United is comfortably the worst is just self-flagellation, and too many United fans are far too eager to hate on their club.

@@StevenWebster_ load of nonsense. If anything Chelsea have been much better at rotating players this season. With the way football is going, elite teams are going to have to play 60-70 games every single year so EVERYONE will have more than enough chance to play, especially considering the frequency in which major injures are now being picked up. The fact you’re trying to act as if having quality players on the bench is actually a bad thing, makes no sense. Also not sure where you got the idea that 30m Wieffer went to Brighton to happily be a rotation option? But whatever fits your agenda!

Man City segment seemed over long. Concluded they need a lot of luck. Like they don’t already get to spend unchecked, fly refs out to Dubai, never lost points to var, whilst their opponents all do. They win points via VAR, the Manchester cartel refs favour them every game and make sure their opponents lose, Everton and Man Utd will give them 12 points between them, during the run in teams will roll over, play weak teams allow them to win easy by letting them score early. But agree city need luck
