What kind of battery is most often used in cars? Gelled?

The cheap kind, i.e. unsealed lead acid which you maintain by adding distilled water.

I'd stay away from the high priced gel batteries. From my personal experience. If you don't have a damn good chance of flipping upside down, these batteries are no where near worth the extra money.

+moe salem You'll need to determine the correct battery size for your truck, but there's no reason you couldn't use a marine starting battery. Marine batteries tend to be more expensive than automotive batteries, however.
