You walked all that in 20 min, not only you but your kid two. It would take me 1hr walking alll that 😂 thank you for the update on how the city has changed
We will be in Costa Rica next month. We have a flight out at midnight so we are looking for a place to walk around to shop and eat. What do you think about this place between 5pm-10pm on Monday? Thanks
Don't walk by the center of San José at night. You can do it on other cities but I would not recommend it there. If you're gonna move by SJ at night use Uber...cheap and safe....thats on San José, where I live I could even sleep outside and nothing would happen
The yellow building at the end is a museum for kids, but it has really cool stuf for everybody. The structure was a castle with moroccan design, it was a military base, a jail and now it's the museum of the kids. On the top of that building the expresident Jose Figueres destroyed a part of the walls with a mace, as a simbolic act when they removed the army and turned the place into a museum for kids because the new army was going to be an army of teachers and students to fight the iliteracy
I saw quite a few seniors speed walking down that street. Makes me wonder why. They looked like they’d probably walk a lot slower at home. 🙃 I’m never going to like a city again I’m afraid, but thanks for showing Central Avenue.
Hi, I live here in Tampa, Florida and plan to visit Costa Rica this summer. I am Hispanic, brown skin and speak some spanish. How safe is it if you don't mind me asking.
Safe in Day dont it at Night. And this is Actually a Safer part of Town. Darker Skin and some Spanish Helps but TICOS Know a GRINGO When they See one keep your Head on a SWIVEL.. The Murder Rate is 17.3 % per 100k in Costa Rica in the U.S. its 7.8 % Costa Rica a lot of good things about it. Have Fun ✌️
Hi, there is some places in San José downtown where you should not go alone late at night, ask the locals and hotel workers when you arrive, your skin color has nothing to do with it LOL
@@TheDufresnessometimes they also bring good concerts to the stadium. I watched Iron Maiden, Roger Walters, Whitesnake, Judas Priest and others, my friends watched red hot chilli peppers
Hi I walk that all the time when i go to San Jose I am located near the airport, which by the way.. people from other countries think that the airport is in San Jose CR because their boarding pass erroneously shows that, what they don't know is that the airport is actually in Alajuela, another province next to San Jose.
good walkabout...i still find it strange for people with very little money to be shopping like this all the time and have good cars..never understood how in the world they buy cars on only a few dollars per hour pay...it doesn't add up...
Government workers and health care professionals are paid very well here. Don't kid yourself! It's no different than anywhere else in the world in that regard.
Absolute poverty is different than relative poverty. These people are not as rich as the average US citizen, but they have to play less to survive, I'm not even starting with the cost of healthcare and education. They're not poor on absolute terms cause they're able to obtain what they need. Also salaries are substantially higher than the rest of latin América. On Costa Rica you can also find people with a lot of money, most of the people are not poor, they're just not rich lol

I love a good walk around San Jose!! Thanks for sharing!
Im from Costa Rica and live in Canada in Vancouver to be exact. Anyone in Vancouver here in the comments?

No we haven't, would have loved to but every time we've been to San Jose there hasn't been a game

Keep some 5,000 colones handy to give to the needy there! Be careful of pick pockets etc....
