    Thanks i was interested in this chirping method, wasnt looking for it but yt suggested this vid on a second page.
    I wonder what's the information density with lora in a heavily populated spaces

    • @richard_wenner
      @richard_wenner  5 месяцев назад

      As a spread spectrum technology it is perfect for layering/sharing RF signals across a wide frequency band (like WiFi). Remember the LoRa packets are very, very short and there are additional provisions within the LoRAWAN stack to increase the resilience of the system as a whole. Obviously performance is better in rural/quiet areas but again in built up areas (radio noisy & relatively hostile) the use of more concentrated nodes (like mobile phones) can also be used but I've no information about any areas where saturation has occurred.

    May I ask how LoRa achieves while SNR is minus value ? How is that theoritally and practically achieveable while signal power is worse than the noise ?

    • @richard_wenner
      @richard_wenner  3 года назад

      In conventional terms the signal will appear to be embedded in the noise - in analog terms. Noise is random. The digital codes that spread the RF power across the frequency band are 'pseudo-random' but repetitive. If you know the details about the nature of these codes and can synchronise them in your receiver - reverse the spreading process - then the signal recovered signal just pops up. Is this of help?
