Well Hollis and Nancy we got our tomato cages built to yalls specs and tomatoes planted. Hubby put the lil fencing around our tomato beds for peter rabbit and the marigolds in front of the maters. We decided to put our bell peppers red and green in between the tomato cages. Then hubby put down gardening hay over all the soil mix. We are so excited! Now we watch em grow !!! Thank yall so much for all of your videos. Next we are planting squash, okra, and cukes in their beds. I already have planted the lil green onions and radishes and lettuce green leaf and romaine in their containers. So till the fall garden we are set.

My 6 year old daughter brought home a plant in a tiny plastic cup in April of 2022. It wasn’t more than an inch tall and had just the two seed leaves on it! I’ve been taking care of it for my daughter and it has reached 39 inches in diameter and 32 inches tall! It’s a Marigold with deep orange flowers with a tinge of burgundy and a yellowish center! Is it common for marigolds to reach this size… in terms of a single plant! I’ve had to transplant it 4 times so far and the root system looks amazingly healthy, vibrant and vigorous!

You have a very beautiful garden. Thank you for the idea of planting tomatoes near the marigold. I will try to do the same.

marigolds are also the bomb for keeping soil nematodes under control ... another reason your tomatoes (and other nightshades) as well as cucurbits, and others will love you.

Watching your videos the past 2 months or so has really helped to inspire me to start my own vegetable garden. I have a 40sq. foot garden and am very excited about growing food for my family. We all have to start somewhere. What's your opinion on sunflowers as part of a garden? I was thinking about adding them as pollinators with the added bonus of harvesting seeds. God bless.

They are beautiful and will draw bees for your garden. You can also harvest the seeds. The down side is squirrels love sunflower seeds too. Thanks for watching our videos!! So glad they are helping you ❤️❤️🐶

I use the Black Kow too. I hope though next year to have plenty of my own compost to use as I have 3 city lots that are going to be filled with a huge urban garden to feed my family and friends. :)
