good for you...this is awesome. I have been gardening only a couple of years ...just learned to can last year...and I will be sixty on November 1st. We live in a small community and tailored our garden with raised beds and fence and pleasing solar lights and such, our grandfathers would have thought silly but for all the reasons you stated we wanted it nice. I did not put in flowers and said something to hubs about it for the bees but now I can convince him for sure. thanks your garden is beautiful

Just a thought. I've noticed your have your garden section all fenced off with some tension wires. If you were interested you could put some small diameter pvc pipe or conduit between your posts on that high tension wire. If you place it right at the top, when an animal comes to grab the top to climb over into your garden, they will encounter the conduit and it will roll preventing them from climbing into your garden and reeking havoc.

The free compost I get from my city is a great filler but being new/too fresh I think my plants are struggling a bit.....gonna get some of those yellow bags of cow manuer.....local hardware store carries it 😁🐄🐂

Consider a couple of chickens. The rotted chopped straw and manure combined with leaf compost makes up 3/4 of what I put in the raised veggie beds. I personally have poor drainage so even in the raised beds I make it 1/4 sand and 'stir well' as the recipe would say! Also they eat the bugs etc...an organic pest control as Martha would say.

My 6 year old daughter brought home a plant in a tiny plastic cup in April of 2022. It wasn’t more than an inch tall and had just the two seed leaves on it! I’ve been taking care of it for my daughter and it has reached 39 inches in diameter and 32 inches tall! It’s a Marigold with deep orange flowers with a tinge of burgundy and a yellowish center! Is it common for marigolds to reach this size… in terms of a single plant! I’ve had to transplant it 4 times so far and the root system looks amazingly healthy, vibrant and vigorous!

Hollis, I love your videos & they provide so much joy & information. I also like how you both put in God's word at the end of your videos. Please check out this book called "Muscle and A Shovel" by Michael Shank. It is based on a true story about a young couple who had their life planned out until the husband, Michael, met a man named Randal at his new job, who introduced him to the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is really good story. I couldn't put down the book.

Those are riser stations that I attach my sprinkler heads to at the top. The elevated head gives me a lot more throw with my irrigation pattern for each head as compared to them being installed at ground level. This allows the irrigation spray patterns to reach the middle of the garden

marigolds are also the bomb for keeping soil nematodes under control ... another reason your tomatoes (and other nightshades) as well as cucurbits, and others will love you.

This garden is so neat and tidy. I would be surprised if your neighbours make a fuss about it.
