Plant Pathogen Interaction | Signalling

- In this video we have discussed the Plant Pathogen Interaction. We know when the Pathogen comes in contact with the plant cell , it tries to inject its proteins and other factors in order to hijack the cellular system but it does not go all it way because plants use defensive mechanism for it what we call as PTI and ETI. PTI stands for Pattern or PAMP triggered immunity while as ETI stands for Effector Triggered immunity. PTI triggers MAPK pathway while ETI triggers Hormonal Signalling like Salicylic Acid pathway and Jasmonic acid pathway. In both of these immunities plants express defensive genes to combat the pathogen infecion.

That was a good summary. There was one aspect that I thought was lacking though. The way it is presented here makes it seem like a very one dimensional process; i.e. fungus attacks a plant and the plant defends against it. I think it would've been good to also mention that many of those effectors are high selective pressure to not be detected and change rapidly. Furthermore, there are effectors whose role is to disrupt and prevent those plant defences from happening. So you have the fungus attacking the plant, the plant defending and the fungus counter attacking. And whenever there is a successful infection, that means the counter attacks were able to overwhelm or prevent the plant defence response.
thanks for appreciation....i accept things are not as linear as i have shown rather the events are 3d....
Thankyou for this informative video. I can personally say that, Indians are very good scientists. They have the ability to break down complex ideas precisely so that its understandable.
Thanks Kari for appreciation....Glad to know that it helps
Wow!!! Had no idea that MAPK was in plant cells as well. Excellent video, thank you!

Which disease caused by plant pathogen & general symptoms, transmission & control of plant disease & mode of entry of plant pathogen in to plant host plzz explain
Hussain Sir plzz tell me the answer of ths questions
During life cycle of black stem rust fungus, the basidiospores produce:-
a)Dikaryoytic mycelium on wheat leaves
B)Dikaryoytic mycelium on barberry leaves
c)Monokaryotic mycelium on barberry leaves
D)Monokaryotic mycelium on wheat leavs
the C is the right answer
During life cycle of black stem rust fungus, the basidiospores produce Monokaryotic mycelium on barberry leaves
Hussain bhai I think 4th option is correct..basidiospores of black stem rust produce monokaryotic mycelium on wheat which infect barberry leaves...
thank u so much
very nicely explained!

Can you suggest the book or other material for plant pathogen interaction
thanks sir
Is it possible after ROS production, the plant will produce phenolic and flavonoid compounds only to prevent the oxidative brust? Bcs I ever read in other journal and it says that ROS also as a signal for plant to produce those compounds (phenolic and flavonoid). Thank you so much.
Yes that is the case .... ( we get lot of cross signalling in these times in plants )
Hussain Bhai plz provide me notes or give some books in which I can learn this topic ( ETI, Effectors, pamp, mamp, hypersensitive response etc in one chapter) more deeply and I can understand all the process of plant immunity plz reply

Where could i get notes of this topic?
What is the relation between plant and immunology? Sir please do answer :)
👍👍👍
Bro in ISR there is no role of PR genes...PR genes are involved only in SAR mediated resistance..so do correct it.
