    Mitch does a great job with details here.
    My preference for Les Paul tone is the Tonerider AC2 PAF style, scatter-wound pickups..7.6k on the Neck and 8.3k on the Bridge.
    Even with considerable overdrive, they are very articulate with great note separation, dynamic, airy and clear with great sustain and singing.
    Voiced well.

    You mean to tell me it only took the federal government four years to grant a patent? Shocking.

    Ah yes, as Greg Koch said on TPS, “The witch craft of, satchico wound these on a Wednesday afternoon at 1:15, and she had a delicious Grecian lunch that day and there was oregano and oil and garlic on her hands, and I think she had a couple of lagers and as a result she went a couple more times then usual, that’s why my pick ups are the best!”

    Error at 1:10. PAFs did NOT add a second magnet. Completely the opposite- P-90’s have 2 magnets per pickup, PAF’s have 1

    Are all humbucker PAFs? If not what, makes a humbucker PAF (I guess that's what the video is about) and what (core of my question) does it make not-PAF?

    Great video but the magnet strength to numbers is completely incorrect.

      "Incorrect"
      Lol,..what a compelling argument.

    • @seanrosedotcom
      @seanrosedotcom 2 года назад

      The numbers simply represent different formulations of the metals. Not the strength of the magnetic field. You’re on the Internet, Google it.

      You obviously haven't taken your own advice.
      The following is a quote directly from Gibson.....
      "Alnico 5 is a stronger magnet, usually resulting in a slightly brighter tone. Alnico 2 is a little weaker, resulting in a slightly warmer tone. Alnico 5 has more MAGNETIC material and less FERRIC material, resulting in slightly lower Inductance."

    As a PAF owner, Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers and Antiquities will get you there. Don"t worry about mojo. I would ONLY think of buying real PAFs to restore a REAL 50s Gibson. I would NEVER buy them for even the most expensive Murphy Shop Gibson.

    Almost 10 minutes of talking, not one example of what it sounds like. Yep. That sounds about right for guitar nerds on the internet.
