It's so nice to see the Rio coming back to life, and it looks like they're doing a great job on the renovations. I am so tired of the greedy resorts on the Strip, and so happy to see the Rio still has the charm of Vegas before all the greed took over. Now they just need to bring back the free shuttle to the Strip to really bring in the customers. Great job Jay!!
If the Las Vegas Advisor offers the "NO RESORT FEE" coupon again in 2025, get the book. I got a room for $20 a night, mid-week rate with that coupon. GREAT DEAL😁😁😁😁
As a Hyatt Globalist (no resort fees), I booked two nights to get night credits at the end of the year. I'm staying elsewhere, but I'm interested in seeing the facility. I'll likely stay there next year. I'm paying $40 a night, but with the included breakfast, it's a good choice.
Another great video Jay 👍 I still have fun looking for my name at the end of the video 😆 then I pull on the truck horn and high five the screen too 😂 just me? 🤔😆 oh well.
Amazing turn around. We walked around the rio a few years ago waiting for penn and teller and the place was depressing. Now I'd consider staying there.
Was just there this past weekend, and it was awesome, third time staying there this year. They had a sweet Rodeo setup and it was packed! Im so happy for their revival! 🎉
Thanks for the Rio review, Jay :) I am glad to see the hotel getting a new life. I loved it back in the 90s. Las Vegas had a different feel back then...but it is cool, everything changes...
Great video! I stayed at the Rio last weekend (December 7-9th). It was ok. The big positive is that they have free parking but the big negative is that they don’t have a lot of elevators so when it’s busy, you can be waiting a good 10 minutes for the elevator so be ready for that.
I like the Rio updates too, Jay. Food Hall has a lot of good choices, the Dim Sum restaurant next to it is really good, and you never have a bad meal at Voodoo Steak. But they must be crazy raising the resort fee to $50 per night at an Off Strip property when the whole Masquerade side of the casino is empty, except for some shops. Will probably get offers for multiple free nights at the Rio when I go back to Las Vegas in April or May, but might stay at Green Valley the whole time because I earned their President card with 1 night of play, so will probably get my whole stay comped at Green Valley plus a huge amount of freeplay.
I was at Rio last month and this place is not great. We checked in on a Saturday afternoon and there was a blackout. The room was “updates” but the sheets don’t fold over the mattress and there are a bunch of hairs near the foot of the beds. Also, it took over 10 minutes to get hot (more like warm) water from the shower. The hotel only had one area of updates and the food options were limited for me as a vegetarian. The casino was really smoky and the games they have were worse than nearby properties (Gold Coast, Palms) with higher minimums, triple zero roulette and 6:5 BJ. Overall, I was not impressed with my stay but glad others have different experiences than me.
Wow! What a good deal the room for $55 per night. The room looked decent. I also thought the food looked good, and you chose interesting stuff like fried Mac n' cheese. Have you ever did a video on the mostexpensive resort/Hotel and the leasr expensiver one?
Dude, I can't even look at meatballs anymore. I had them at Oscar's on NYE and puked them all up-- at midnite in the bushes. I just can't, yet. Any idea on when Phase two will begin? I'm coming in May and I'm hoping they'll have the Masquerade area done.
Hi Jay! Great content as always. For getting the waived resort fees, did you do a status Match to get the Azul tier and above? Or did you do slot game play ?
I haven't been back to the Rio since 2017. We were there for the Vodoo Lounge night club and it was fun. I believe that place is closed permanently, so I have no reason to go back there anymore. 😅
Happy belated birthday Jay 🎂 🥳 we hope you had a great time.
The Rio’s facelift looks amazing! Excited to check out the new Lucky Tavern and those renovated rooms

I’m hearing only positive things about the Rio lately. Def. Will give them another shot and see what the hype’s about!

Awesome renovations!
I'm glad to see Rio Las Vegas is back better than ever!😊

I went two years ago and it was borderline depressing of the shell it used to look like. Def a night and day improvement already!

Those happy hour prices sound like a great deal for a Vegas casino
