Words have power, and words like "fuck" are hard on the ear because they convey a certain intensity. "Headed South" and "Me and Mine" is an amazing example of how "fuck" can be used to peak a song perfectly. I thought the first upload was amazing. However, a man's convictions and moral compass are all that he has. If this version is what comes from the heart, that's all that matters. Like I said on the pervious upload, ZLB couldn't miss if he tried.

Yessir. Well said. I'm a God-fearing man myself. However, I don't even find works like "fuck" to be "bad." Some knucklehead just came along and decided to coin certain words as "bad." lol. The only bad word God ever spoke of was...His name in vein.
Anyways, like you said, the use of rough language in songs is such a great way to convey so much intense emotion, as you said. Zach's most "profane" songs are always my favorites, for this very reason!

The Comedy Bros words are mediums for emotional expression, that’s for sure. But Zach Bryan has his reasons, and they’ve not steered him wrong yet.
Been struggling with depression for years. It’s been building up forever. Broke my ankle in 3 places tore ligaments and dislocated my foot a month or so ago. Never been so depressed in my life. I’ve been fighting off suicidal thoughts. Things like waking up and even opening my eyes have been the hardest thing ever for me. At times felt like I had no one and have legitimately felt like I have no reason to be on this earth. Zach brother your music has saved my life. I know it sounds cliche but every lyric resonates in every song. This one especially. You’re my hero brother. Please never sell out and always be you. A Verizon bill you received saved my life. I’m bigger than my problems. I don’t know you but I can truly call you my brother. Thank you.

I found Zach the week that a good friend hung himself in November 19’. I had just gotten out of jail and made the decision to leave crime and was living in Boston climbing the corporate ladder of at&t for 3 years.
I loved the buzz of the city but hated everything about it (if that makes sense).
I loved the rush of the sale, climbing the ladders, and was good at teaching others to take advantage of the everyday working man.
Once I was offered a position as regional manager with great pay, company car, blah blah blah. I said no. And I took a 40k+ pay cut to get back into the trades as an apprentice plumber at 29yo.
Just found this song now and it hits home.

Joined the Army at 17, medically retired at 39. Came home from deployment in 2010, it was fine, stressful but nothing I would consider traumatic. I spent the next decade on a roller coaster of good times with high confidence, self worth, and really dark times. As I continued with my next career I finally broke. Abusing adderall to manage work, a drink or a bottle for taking too much adderall, marijuana to keep my nerves.
Have been in recovery for three years now. I’ll never fully right half the things I’ve done wrong. But I can still to even the ledger.
So thankful for PTSD Foundation of America for helping me understand and process my trauma.
Man I’m so blessed being my wildest dreams.
