My favourite Highlights: Easy: Closing Hours. I agree with the video Normal: Cursed Jungle. I like its striking design thanks to the theme, and its ost gives it that touch Hard: Artic Grotto. I love the relaxing music and the theme, they are very chill, and the design is simple but nice to look at Insane: Mossy Shrine. The gameplay is a bit complicated and tricky, but the design is very pretty and goes with the title, and I love the color palette Crazy: Abyssal Remnants. The ost is incredible and the design is hypnotizing, the theme is spectacular, and the gameplay is comfortable, I also have sentimental value for it being the first Crazy Highlight that I beated Crazy+: Desert Ruins.The first thing that made me fall in love with this level was the Soundtrack, and then when I saw the gameplay I loved the design, the name is challenging as well as its difficulty, I'm surprised I didn't get irritated just by making it to the first two jumps XD Sorry if my english is bad, I'm learning it
My favorite Crazy is Underworld Castle purely for the OST. I also figured Frozen Settlement was a fan favorite for its use of new mechanics like ice and rotating jump pads.
My personal opinion: Best Easy: Cloudy Skylands ------------------ Yes, the update broke the moving parts, but having played this map before that, I can say it’s really good. I remember liking the ending part with the cannon. Best Medium: Nimble Valley ------------------ Idk I just like the speed changers. That’s about it, I don’t play Normal difficulty maps often. Best Hard: Onama Views ------------------ Definitely the Hard map with the best visuals. The OST is nice, and the gameplay’s good, too, I just wish it was a bit less laggy. Best Insane: Amphibious Billow ------------------ I just really like underwater maps, honestly. Great visuals, good gameplay, and one of the best OST’s made for FE2. Best Crazy: Abyssal Remnants ------------------ Once again, I really just like underwater maps. Very good gameplay, and good visuals like usual, alongside my personal favorite Crazy map OST. Best Crazy+: Whirlwind Wasteland ------------------ This map literally does everything right. The gameplay is amazing, the OST is amazing, and this is without a doubt the coolest looking map I’ve seen across all difficulties. I agree with pretty much every single map on the list. There are a few that aren't my top favorite for the difficulty, but even, they would definitely be top 3 at least.
My Favourite Highlights: *Easy:* Icy Spires (137.1 Points) *Normal:* Wild Skatepark (145.6 Points) *Hard:* Arctic Grotto (143.3 Points) *Insane:* Mossy Shrine (147.5 Points) *Crazy:* Virulent Junkyard (134 Points) *Crazy+:* Central Mass Array (142.8 Points) Maximum Points is 150. *Results and My Words* 1: Mossy Shrine (Peak nature theme and design. Fire OST.) 2: Wild Skatepark (The theme is a GOAT. Also the OST slaps.) 3: Arctic Grotto (OST carries it 70% of the time. The gameplay and design are both perfect for my liking.) 4: Central Mass Array (Originally Wildwood Waterways is my favourite Crazy+, but CMA’s new OST is an absolute goat, pushing the map to the highest ranks possible with the concept and gameplay carrying it.) 5: Icy Spires (One word: Perfect.) 6: Virulent Junkyard (The structures were a GOAT, OST slaps extremely well, and the gameplay is so much fun. Only reason it’s the lowest cuz the maps above it are at another level, and the map itself can be awkward at some parts when it comes to sightreading.) *Honourable Mentions* Easy: Outlier of a Coppice Carcass (The map’s design and structures were a GOAT. Also the gameplay is very good and chill.) Normal: Deserted Frontier (This map is really close to Wild Skatepark. Both of these are so goated in terms of design, gameplay, difficulty and gameplay I could treat them as equal.) Hard: Forlorn Christmas (The concept is the biggest upside here. The gameplay is very enjoyable, so is the OST.) Insane: Twilight Athenaeum (Anything about this map is GOATED. The OST, the gameplay, the design, all build up extremely well.) Crazy: Spider Dungeon (Pretty Hot Take. The map is so much fun for me to play, due to its intensity, OST, design and the structures, despite some inconsistencies.) Crazy+: Wildwood Waterways (Also Pretty Hot Take like SD. The map has a lot of obstacle varieties which brings a lot of fresh moments and is very fun. Like Nightmare Castle, Wildwood Waterways being nerfed is the biggest flaws I have, due to the community’s skill issues.) *My Third Favourites* Easy: Closing Hours Normal: Hovering Enclaves Hard: Cascade Rift Insane: Steam Palaces Crazy: Nightmare Castle (Curse you, Nightmare Castle Haters. Your skill issues burned this goated engaging map badly.) Crazy+: Lost City of Gold
IMO I like UC and AH more, uc is continuation to underworld grove, matches its difficulty, and what it lacks in features it makes up for in its ost and its a noomlek map so, bonus points. Harbour is good as it completely fits its Ost and theme well but feels rustic either way all the metallic rusted objects around, although the Ost seems a bit 8-bit to me and they could’ve went for a deeper Ost like pc but overall it’s better then all other options and edges out subzero in my book.
i agree with most of the choices other then runic maze (which makes sense, most insane higlights have been top tier) because it gets probably the most hate from alot of people because of the thing that makes it so cool (the variants) wouldnt say i agree with mirage because even tho its an amazing map it over time got less fun for me, i can still see just like runic why it might be the most liked :D
