The virginity thing was in the old testament... which Jesus abolished when he said 'it is finished" on the cross. The period of Law happened to show people what it is to live like under law. Now, after Jesus' resurrection, we live in the Period of Grace, which shows us how free(You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free) it is to live under the grace of God. But this does not give us the license to sin, but to repent and give God the glory and honor voluntarily. As for the next verses from the New testament... you forgot to read the rest of the verses in the same chapter. 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man NOR MAN OF WOMAN; 12 for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. My church actually had a whole discussion about this topic of the Bible. The people who wrote it aren’t saying that God thinks women should be treated this way, there just saying that’s how society treated at the time. There are also lots of examples of how men in the Bible thought women should be treated with more respect. This guy just wants to pick apart things in the Bible with no context behind them to make people hate christians. Edit: since so many people in the comments are disagreeing with me saying I’m “cherry picking” or just twisting my words in general, this is how I’m going to address it and further explain my argument. Deuteronomy 22: 13-21 states that “13 If a man takes a wife and, after sleeping with her, dislikes her 14 and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, “I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity,” 15 then the young woman’s father and mother shall bring to the town elders at the gate proof that she was a virgin. 16 Her father will say to the elders, “I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. 17 Now he has slandered her and said, ‘I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.’ But here is the proof of my daughter’s virginity.” Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town, 18 and the elders shall take the man and punish him. 19 They shall fine him a hundred shekels[a] of silver and give them to the young woman’s father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall continue to be his wife; he must not divorce her as long as he lives. 20 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.” Now first of I would like to point out that there is a significant amount of this that the man in the video never referenced, but he did reference the end that talks about women’s punishment, that is what cherry picking is. In addition, deuteronomy took place in the Old Testament (before Jesus) where there were many intense rules and punishments for all sins big or small because God wanted us to understand that those sins were evil and separated us from him. It wasn’t until the New Testament that Jesus (the son of God) came and gave his teachings about christianity and the new rules we should be following as christians because of his grace. Jesus actually goes against the old rule of stoning women as punishment in John 8:1-11 which says, “8 Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, 2 but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. 3 As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. 4 “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” 6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. 7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” 8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. 9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. 10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” 11 “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”” Hopefully now y’all will fully understand my argument and if you have questions or retorts I ask that you please be polite about it.
I don't think this person aims to make people hate Christians but to make them re-examine their beliefs and biases. Take the first guy, for example. He left immediately after he revealed it was the bible and not the Qu'ran. Take another experiment where they ask people from Florida how they feel about a book with rape, mass genocide, etc. being taught in school and then having it revealed to be the Bible. The point wasn't to make them waiver in their faith in Jesus, but to truly re-examine what the Bible says.
@@Gacha_Otomen The problem is it's also spreading this misconception that a lot of people already have about the bible, that christians are cherry picking what they want to believe because supposedly the bible says all these "rules" that we just ignore. If he wanted to prove his point, he could have then explained afterwards that christians don't actually follow these things because the ceremonial/mosaic laws and historical accounts in general are only in the bible to provide context to the society at that time, and they're not intended as commandments to follow. He could have even just included it at the end of the video, and he would have still been able to drive his point across. But the way he does it, he's just adding onto misconceptions and spreading hate towards Christianity. It's messed up to just exploit another religion as a means to prove something about Islam.
He's not genuine. He didn't even read the entire verse let alone the context behind it. The verse is about prostitution 21they shall bring the young woman to the entrance of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death, because she committed a shameful crime in Israel by prostituting herself in her father's house. Future more when Jesus came he pretty much said we should not stone adulterous women instead offered the woman redemption to go and not sin any more.

And what deuteronomy 22:20-22 means was the tradition practiced in the old testament about how they treat a woman with a lost virginity and if a woman has loss her virginity she has probably committed adulterous behaviors and according to the law of Moses she should be stoned to death..Now fast forward to the New Testament when they brought a woman who has committed adulterous behaviors to Jesus what did Jesus do, he said one who hasn’t sinned should cast the first stone, then all of them dropped the stone’s beginning with the oldest until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with woman and Jesus told her he wouldn’t condemn her that she should go and sin no more. This act of Jesus is to show that he hasn’t come to condemn but to save us from our sin and we shouldn’t go back to our sins anymore…also hope this helps
The first sentence is from the Old Testament. What he's 'forgetting' to mention is that we are speaking about a woman after she got married but before being intimate (not a lady that committed intimacy before marriage). There were witnesses warning her, and within 3-5 seconds after the warning, she committed adultery (something that is very unusual and really rare to happen). The rest is from the New Testament, so I don't know enough.
The story of the adulterous woman is a complete fabrication and was added to the bible, it was not there in the earliest manuscripts of the new testament. Please look this up if you care for the truth. Look into islam. hope this reaches you well.

That's totally bullshit. Do you think anyone is free from sin?? It's not who is without sin. Because there are various levels of sins and the amount of sins a person commits. But the sin that you mentioned it falls into the worst category. And small sins are forgivable if he prays like a true pious person. So of course many might have committed small sins but those sins were already erased from their record if they had prayed like a true pious person. So that thing you said is totally garbage.I know where you have heard it but that drama isn't 100% true at all. Many garbage is also mixed in it.

Pity Muslims aren't taught that the Qur'an never says the Torah and Gospel got corrupted. Nowhere in the Qur'an will you find a verse where it says the Torah and Gospel got corrupted and this belief started rising among muslims when they started reading the Torah and Gospel and how it contradicted the Qur'an. Muhammad and the early muslims never believed that the Scriptures of the Jews and Christians got corrupted and the Qur'an always speaks very highly about the Torah and Gospel: Say: "O People of the Book! Ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord" (5:71). How can the Jew or Christian, stand fast by the Law and the Gospel, if the Law and the Gospel have been corrupted or abrogated? If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee (10:94) Why would allah send Muhammad to the Jews and Christians if their Scriptures were corrupted? The Qur'an encourages Jews to judge by the Torah: How come they (come) unto thee (Muhammad) for judgment when they have the Torah, wherein Allah hath delivered judgment (for them)? (5:43) And the Qur'an urges Christians to judge by the Gospel: Let the People of the Gospel judge by that which Allah hath revealed therein. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are evil-livers. (5:47) To make matters even worse for muslims is that allah says the 'uncorrupted' Torah and Injeel were still with the Jews and Christians at the time of Muhammad: Those who follow the Messenger (Mohammed), the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them (7:157 MP). And when there cometh unto them (Jews) a Scripture (the Qur'an) from Allah, confirming that in their possession (2:89 MP). We know what Scriptures Jews and Christians had with them in the 7th century and they are the same Torah and Gospel we have today. Therefore if you are a Muslim you should not attack the Bible since the Qur'an upholds it! This is why you need to read the scriptures for yourselves. Paul said this becithe women in the church of corinth were publicly disrespecting their husbands and because those days people revered the cuurch and the prophets, Paul told the church of corinth this so that they may listen and submit to their husbands. When you read the whole book you get to understand why Paul had to say that to the church in corinth. Now onto why virgins were stoned to death if she wasn't pure was more of traditional than religious. If you read Deuteronomy you find that though God frowns on fornication, God never said women be stoned for fornication. But God did say that anyone who did evil should be removed from Israel and for the people of Isreal, removing them meant killing them. Once you read further it was not just the women, the men also faced harsh punishments for adultery and fornication. Those were the laws set by man not God. That is why Jesus saved the prostitute who was about to be stoned to death in the new testament. Because they knew that that action was not dictated by God but were laws made by Moses and the Isrealites to keep people from evil. I hope this gives better understanding. I'd advise you read the whole thing and understand and not just take one sentence and form yhe basis for everything.
And who was Paul? A man who never knew Jesus pbuh never learnt from him or saw him directly, a man who came and preached the complete opposite to what Jesus pbuh taught and made a mockery of Jesus pbuh teachings. 1. For the first passage mentioned , yes, that is an old teaching from Leviticus. However, I would like to mention that as Christians, we are no longer held under those laws. Yes, it seems harsh, but the wages of sin is death. The death penalty is given to adulterous men too, and many other sins mentioned in Leviticus. Thankfully, Jesus paid the price of sin, and died FOR US, so we no longer have to stone people. In fact, in John 7:53-8:11, the story of Jesus stopping the Pharisees from stoning an adulterous woman is mentioned (I’d like to note that this story is not in the earliest manuscripts of John exactly as it is in the modern Bible. In some manuscripts, it is actually after 21:25 or even Luke 21:25, so there may be some warnings like that if you do look up the passage)! Yes, the Old Testament can seem incredibly harsh, but we still have the death penalty to this day. Cultures have shifted from seeing what is most important to punish, but we must remember that God is not only loving, but also just. He cannot accept sin, but will gladly accept the sinner! I actually studied and learnt about that specific quote "women should be silent during worship" whilst I was doing A-level Christianity in a catholic 6th form. I'm not religious, I just found it interesting. The context of that quote is actually from someone who was from a town in which the Church had ongoing disputes among the members. So his response was that women should be quiet and men should not put their hands up. The philosophy side of it is whether or not we should have the interpretation that it was for that situation only, or if it should be a hollisitc rule.
The problem with people nowadays is that they only take sections of a verse and use it to back their claims. Whereas they should put the verses for the context on each chapter as a whole to understand what is actually going on.

The bible talks about different roles for different genders within circumstances. If it’s not for you, then that’s fine too.
Exactly I knew it was the Bible almost immediately. I’ve heard these verses over and over as to why people shouldn’t be Christians but they are very different in context. Especially for that time and for the churches they were written to. Everything in the Bible is true but also metaphorical and not transparent but that’s why we study it and not just read through it.
No! Please for the love of God read the verse before you just go out and spout "yea it says this" because it doesn't. It's refering to adultery and specifically only is for the followers of Moses and the men that falsely accused get whipped overnight.

She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you. Important thing to note here is that this is the Old testament and Mosaic law which was never meant to be perfect,if we read John 8:1-11,we can see Jesus stopping people from stoning woman. 2)I don't see what's so wrong about 2nd one.Veil is very beautiful fashion detail. 3)1. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. And if they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church. It's important to understand the context and know a bit of history here.Women of Corinth usually chitchatted in Church,so that's what Paul here criticises. Also, women of Corinth were really uneducated, due to limits of women schooling,so Paul says that they should ask their husbands who had great er acces to education instead of accidentaly saying something wrong.

What do you say?”
6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger.
Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”
11 “No, Lord,” she said.
And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”” Hopefully now y’all will fully understand my argument and if you have questions or retorts I ask that you please be polite about it.
THANK YOUUUU
Hats just a strawmans argument for cherry picking...
Koran is the same way. The point was to expose the hypocrisy in saying one is bad but the other isn't, while in reality both books say the same thing
It's disgusting the way the man reacted after he said that it was the Bible, he can't handle the truth?

Muhammad and the early muslims never believed that the Scriptures of the Jews and Christians got corrupted and the Qur'an always speaks very highly about the Torah and Gospel:
Say: "O People of the Book!
If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee (10:94)
Why would allah send Muhammad to the Jews and Christians if their Scriptures were corrupted?
The Qur'an encourages Jews to judge by the Torah:
How come they (come) unto thee (Muhammad) for judgment when they have the Torah, wherein Allah hath delivered judgment (for them)? (5:43)
And the Qur'an urges Christians to judge by the Gospel:
Let the People of the Gospel judge by that which Allah hath revealed therein. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are evil-livers. (5:47)
To make matters even worse for muslims is that allah says the 'uncorrupted' Torah and Injeel were still with the Jews and Christians at the time of Muhammad:
Those who follow the Messenger (Mohammed), the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them (7:157 MP).
Here are all the 12 verses in the Qur'an about the Injeel:
3:3, 3:48, 3:65,5:46, 5:47, 5:66, 5:68, 5:110, 7:157, 9:111, 48:29 and 57:27

The Qur’an contradicts itself, mixes up & is confused about Biblical characters, it has way too many historical time line errors and Allah in the Qur'an (Allah accidentally created Christianity) is even confused about what Christians believe the Trinity is!😅😂
Read the Bible my friend and you'll see what a terribly written book the Qur’an is and how it can’t possibly be the word of God.

As people gets educated, they do not give a toss about their religion. Religions were created by Man and all the texts were also written by Man. But who will convince you about that?
I'm neither a Christian nor a Muslim but I don't think it's necessary to bring the few of such controversial statements out of a religious book which has far more good teachings than the objectionable ones. There's no religious book which doesn't have any controversial sayings but they can still be a great source of knowledge if we focus on the positive side.

Isn't it supposed to be the word of god? Why do you get to pick and choose which passages to adhere to?
@@hiatus2472 The same god also put enough common sense and morality in humans that goes beyond the literal words of a book and into its purpose. I heard a story of Jesus when he didn't let people punish a woman caught in adultery even when the stone-pelting punishment for it was written in Bible. Even Jesus didn't follow the book blindly.
@populuseuphratica8791 I would have thought that god would have put common sense and morality in all humans. Clearly, that isn't the case. All you really have is a claim that is what god did. It's a shame that god couldn't have made itself better understood.
@@hiatus2472 Maybe it's just those humans who don't want to use their ability of having common sense. Eg. Normally abled humans are born with limbs and brain but not everyone use them efficiently, some are hardworking, some are lazy. The same goes for common sense. It's there but some people choose to ignore it.
Most people don't realise that the three Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) are very similar, and almost certainly have the same source.
Yeah but one adopted paganism, one became a type of racial religion you could say and the other one people say was created years after by a man in arabia even though it's not like that.

The old guy walking away is the problem, he criticized one book but not the other
You're the problem, you've allowed a fool take the Bible out of context and brainwashed you. The same bible that made us understand that one of the most important things is love, the same bible where Jesus time and time again preached about love for even your enemies, the same bible where Jesus stood in front of a woman about to be stoned and asked that he who is without sin be the first to throw a stone.
He would follow Satan knowingly
@@i_asked_ if by Satan you mean the guy taking the Bible out of context and spreading a false narrative?
That is the Old Testament. Christ said when they were going to stone a woman for adultery that “whoever has never sinned should throw the first stone” and obviously no one threw because they were all sinners. Leave Islam my brothers and follow Christ ✝️
@@scorpionjaxxer339worship the Creator, not His creation. 😊
Hilarious taking it out of context.
Context is super important guys. Especially the letters of Paul. Which all of those were quoted from. When reading letters of Paul, what was the historical context of the time and what was happening in the church the letters were addressed to.
I agree but this also applies to islam
How many times do you see verses taken out of context just to put islam in bad light and to look agressive and violent ??

@callmeshlomo7035 yeah no wonder since we call you Shlomo.
As a Christian, there is a lot of cultural and situational context that goes behind those verses. There is also a lot of polarising views on them. It would be beneficial to research them to fully understand them.
But yea the bible does say those things, and there is no denying it.
Mike Winger has a good series on this.
Thank god, there are non-Abrahmic religions as well, which are pure and doesn’t restrict people into rules. Sanatan Dharma is the way of life, or it’s different branches Buddhism, Sikh etc
No this is reading only parts of scripture and picking and choosing certain words and translations
I will unwrap those verses now:
1)Deuteronomy 22:20-21 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death.
3)1. Corinthians 14:33-35 As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silent in the churches.
It's an example about how westerners take Quran verses out of context and show them as proof that Islam is dangerous. It breaks my heart to see people mock religion. All faiths should be respected, whether Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Muslim, Zoroasthrian, or more

The Bible has always been considered extremely harsh, especially if you don't know the reason or events behind the creation of those rules. Yet the Bible is also considered very comforting as well. The first part of the video came from the lesson of not deciding a person's judgment when your life isn't any better than the person you are judging. That's why it is good to take the time to read the bible even if it's on verse for the day.

The woman threatened with stoning / John 7:53-8:11
Then each of them went home, whilst Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him and he sat down and began to teach them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery; and making her stand before all of them, they said to him, 'Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?' They said this to test him, so that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, 'Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone against her'. And once again he bent down and wrote on the ground. When they heard it, they went away, one by one, beginning with the elders; and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus straightened up and said to her, 'Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?' She said, 'No one, sir'. And Jesus said, 'Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin again'.
