Hiking the FLORIDA TRAIL + Snorkeling 4 of Econfina's Springs (Ep. 32)

- In this episode, Siren and Captain Hal head to Econfina to do a quick loop off the Florida Trail to explore several spring heads. The trail is much different than it was before Hurricane Michael, and while there are few trees left, the underbrush and trail is slightly overgrown. The spring heads were all restored in 2015, and Hurricane Michael hit the area in 2018, but the springs are now beautiful and accessible as usual.

I was born in Homestead-Miami. I hope I can make it back there someday. I would spend a lot of time in the Everglades. But I'm trapped in Ohio at the moment.
Nice! I love the Everglades. We're further north in all the springs. Let us know if you get back! But hey, I think there's a lot of beautiful and really cool archaeological sites in Ohio I know we'd love to check out! Definitely soak up what's there while you're there!
That was fun Thanks Just went to Salt Springs the other week planning my next spot to adventure .
Those were some great lookin springs. I don’t think I ever went to those 😊🔥👏👏👏
Yeah! They've done a LOT of work here since we were kids. Looks very manicured now, and sparse after the hurricane in 2018. When we were kids, it was very wooded and much more natural.
Beautiful area!!
Still beautiful, but much has changed. So different without all the trees!
What a special place!
Thank you! Yes, it honestly even better by kayak or canoe.
Heehee...y'all are so tummy
If anyone is wondering ,,yes that water is cold.. Morrison Springs near by is a much bigger swimming area and free county park..

Hii from
A Aussie just discovered your channel
Thank you so much for being here with us! We’re stoked to have you. Yes, we do love the potential that boat offers. It’ll be a lot of work if we do decide to get it, but look at what we will have! It’s a tough call, and we can only afford to do the refit if we can get it fairly cheap. Glad to have you!!!
I’ve lived in FL 58 years and still cringe when thinking about jumping in fresh water with the ‘gators and Moccasins?
Most of the springs are too cool for gators and moccasins to be comfortable in. They'll be there sometimes, but they get sluggish.
Lot of fossils in the river?
Yep! Loads of
