Polo, you are one of my favorite reviewers and the array of music you cover is awesome. I have not seen any reviews of yours of Pat Metheny, a 20 time Grammy Award winner, with 10 of them all in different categories (source: Wiki-P). He's a master musician, composer and arranger. You will not be disappointed. So many good songs, but I will recommend the song First Circle from the album of the same name. Cheers.

Thank whoever sent you this song, there is nobody like the PSB. Their melancholic sound has soothed this savage beast since I was a confused teenager back in the 80's.
So many great songs from them, but I will recommend "Rent" off their album 'Actually' from 1987.

Yessirrr ! Pet Shop Boys are masters of their craft. They write the most clever and creative songs.
The full orchestral with the French Horn at the end is just fantastic. One of their most underrated tracks.

PSB will almost always have the cleverest and deepest lyrics. There's often a tongue-in-cheek feel to them but often with a very serious undertone to it.

My FAVORITE PSB song is from this album - "To Face the Truth." It's raw, heartbreaking, and beautiful. I used to listen to it and just sob Great reaction. This album was really an interesting one. In ways it felt like a departure for them.. more mature.. more risk taking .. and it came at a time when they'd been crazy successful! I expected you to not like this. WOW. You just never know! You always give a great and genuine reaction.
This song still makes me choke up. It describes a certain period in my 20s.

I've loved the Pet Shop Boys since my sisters introduced me to them when I was 8 (they had their first album, Please - which had West End Girls on it). They have such a variety of sounds (albeit all electronic, but it's still incredibly varied with the beat and hooks).
HIGHLY recommend: Opportunities (Let's Make Money), Suburbia, One More Chance, It's A Sin (one of my top favourites), Heart, Two Divided By Zero, and they do a great cover of Willie Nelson's Always On My Mind! Really can't go wrong with any of their stuff! Cheers!
Hi Polo, seems you are in the 80s now-Synth-Pop. Love the Pet Shop Boys, they have beautiful songs! As you like Coldplay you should listen to some a-ha, who inspired them. Great band, great songs. Love your reactions, keep them coming!
Even as 80's LA Punx we loved these guys! PS; request your first Punk reaction i think? White Riot by The Clash (Joe Strummer was a true people's man- RIP) and you have to experience The Jam- Eaton Rifles or their leader Paul Weller or his Style Counsel- he still performs. Happy listening!

This track is from 1991... they've continued to make great music up to today. A new album was just released and it's great. They are expert at synths for creating mood and danceable beats along with their clever lyrics.
West End Girls makes me happy every time I hear it. It's A Sin is a total banger. Peak high school yearning for me.
Listen to a few PSB songs, then go on to New Order "Blue Monday" and "Bizarre Love Triangle".
