Those would be great year round where I play. Here in west Texas it’s usually very hot and dry. These would help with the dirt areas in some fairways. Thanks
Wow wouldn't say a steal! would say a RIP OFF...10in by 4in bit of artificial grass with a few plastic spikes underneath...dome a fav....iv exactly the same but a bit bigger..no spikes underneath. Just push 2 tees in back...never slips..all's good...got a free off cut from local Carpet shop...a 1ft trim off from some artificial grass...£27 do me a favour...£9.99...about right..
I’ve had mine for 3 years and it’s durable and easy to use. For this price it’s a no brainer. Better than forking out each year for a fly away mat. But if you’re so tight you squeak when you walk then stick to the flyaway Matt and tee option 😂
When you're golf course is on winter mats, it's the same for everyone, as you're not allowed to hit from the fairway as you are protecting the grass. Not cheating, it's only to protect the fairways in the winter and it's the same for everyone.
A lot of courses near me don’t require mats. Your picking it up for preferred lies anyway, to at least clean, so if it’s really poor conditions, I’m using a spurk mat.
That's fine if all your playing partners own mats. If I'm the only one in a group of 4 using a matt, then I have an unfair advantage on my strikes. Yes, we do use winter matts in the uk,but that is only for your driving & short hole tee shots. I can imagine some people getting annoyed that your playing partner would always have an unfair advantage. After all, we're all competitive.
@slicerjohn1897 I live in Scotland and it gets pretty cold here, I've used this mat through The winter for the last few years. Are you in the states? I hear winters are worse there. if the ground is that hard, why not use an offcut of carpet with some suction cups on the bottom or something else that'll create friction to stop it moving.
Imagine talking about mats in a positive sense. Every single one of them is utterly horrendous and it ruins golf. Join a links club that plays off the fairways, or at least one that lets you play from the first cut. Playing off a mat isn’t golf.
Winter golf unfortunately hits golf courses differently in winter including links courses, it's ideal for protecting the grass. Winter mats are not always the best experience but these are definitely going to improve that experience.
I have used one for a couple of years, they are great, protects the course and your clubs in the winter.
Brilliant but of kit. Will be using all seasons to protect my golfers elbow from digging into the ground.
My 2nd winter season with spurk winter mat,it,s about the price of a dozen balls ,good investment ,love my spurk mat

The Spurk mat is an essential purchase but awful name.

Would that not be considered cheating if you have to pick your ball up from each previous shot & replace it onto a matt for your next shot?.

@@markjones9504 Well your playing buddies should be using mats as well. Is it not a local rule at your club for the winter ?
None of us use matts, only on winter tees. It's not a club rule & we play from where we land.
They look pretty good but useless when the ground is frozen.
@@slicerjohn1897 it should still press in a bit and be solid
Not true. They work perfectly when the ground is frozen.
@ I was playing last Thursday mate and the ground was like concrete i had to use my pitch mark repairer just to put the tee in.
@ I have one and the plastic grips couldn’t get set because the ground was too hard frozen solid so I went back to my old one.
