Great Lesson Sir : Rodger McGuinn is one of the Greats in my humble opinion, he was Unique as a player and his Influence is everywhere, from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to The Coral ..👍🏻❤️
I know it was five years ago that you posted this, but many thanks, Gary. This is just great. I know I'll never (never say never!) do it with the finger picks, but the alternate picking sounds great. I just tabbed it out and will practice downstrokes slowly and build up to that. I've loved this song for years and have always dreamed of playing it. Thanks for taking the time to help with that!
I just saw this today and thank you. I just sold my 360/12 to buy a 660/12 ( which I'm still waiting for ) because I don't have the control on the narrow neck and I have to cheat. Thanks for making it simple for me..
Great job breaking this down. I'm recording this for a band and I even borrowed my friends "Ricky"to nail the song Anyway, I can't thank you enough for creating this spot on tutorial, it's nice to have someone like yourself sharing your knowledge and talent
@@MrGarywjacob You are so welcome man, BTW, your sound is really great as well, I can hear a compressor, what is your signal chain for these McGuinn tutorials?
@@MrGarywjacob OK that makes a lot of sense! I've heard of the janglebox and that too makes sense and of of coarse Flatwound strings. Of Course! Which ones do you use/prefer? Pyramid? Hey thanks so much for getting back to me!
I've always dearly LOVED the Rickenbacker 330/12 or 360/12. 36 years ago I had to sell my 4001 bass. What amp are you using to complete that nice Rick chime?
Gary, thank man. Is that tuned to E? I tune my acoustic down to aD to cut down on the strain on the neck. Rick is probably a stronger neck than my Epi though.
Wow, That was brilliant. I really wish RUclips had been around 40 years ago.
Thank you, sir
That cat really likes you. Nice to have fans.
Great, in such a way I could follow, thanks
Fabulous playing and explanation! the cat also likes it. lol
Really first rate lesson. Thank you so much.
Just stumbled across this today Gary. Thanks for this great lesson. This song holds up still, today. I'll check out your other stuff.

Listen to the sustain! Enjoyed the clip.
Your guitar sounds awesome! Perfect amount of reverb and breakup. Love it!
Gary this was a great lesson! Could you do a lesson to "Where Were You When I Needed by The Grass Roots?
Hey Gary, thanks so much for posting this, especially the solo bits.

Been trying to figure that one out for years. Thanks. McGuinn flat picked while using steel finger picks as he played the banjo early on.

Fantastic!!! Those guitars sound good. Keep me posted.Gary

Amazing. In under 1:09, you showed what I came looking for. So many other vids talk you to death. Now I have to go learn some new ( to me ) chords.

And, your cat is cool too.
Hi kitty.
Thank you so much Matt for the kind words.
U left out Asus2 and Asus4.
Stop saying "Ah" at the start of almost every sentence. Beautiful Ax.
Why are you yelling at me?...
Cough and blah blah !!!! Do the song man !!!!
Cough and Blah blah. If you can do better then do it!!! Or better yet don't watch it. This is the reason why people don't post.
