Great review! The new headstock is a huge deal breaker for me actually. I am a fan of the Firebird and your headstock is the one I love. If they decide to finally put a whammy bar on these guitars and bring back the old headstock I would buy it right away.
I picked up my first Harley Benton about a year ago. 7 string multiscale dlx 2020. Just had Emg xs 81 and 85 installed and finally got a professional setup done on it as well. I absolutely love it. The roswells just never seemed to have the punch as my other guitars when our band would switch tunings. Now I love it, its a beast. If you're on the fence for one of these, jump if you're willing to put a little money into it. Well worth it in the end.
I've been interested in multi-scale guitars for a while just haven't pulled the trigger yet ha ha. I will be definitely looking into some in the future and I'll keep that one in mind thank you!

The one shown in the webpage is different, It's true to a classic 76 explorer. Is yours a discontinued model? Because I would be so disappointed if they deliver the one you have.

@@DeakonLekross I like the ST-20 HSS and the SC-550 plus with EMG's. I'm a fairly new player and I'm trying to find hard tail guitars. I'm not big on whammy bars and what I'm learning is basically clean ctuff maybe a little dirt, blues and hard rock is what I want to learn.
I got one in August 2020 and it is just like the one in the video except the knobs angle downward from front to back with the body instead of upward like yours. It is an excellent guitar for the money. My only complaint is I think the the stock pickups are just a little anemic/sterile sounding, but that is typical. The new version is disappointing. The proportions are changed. The main forward/downward point is now smaller, with a sharper point. I prefer the new headstock (not a fan of reversed headstocks), but the main body proportion is just off now. It no longer looks "true" to the original explorer shape proportionately. I didn't mind the "untrue" rounded top point or the back dimple of the older one, but the proportions of the new one look toy-like. They ruined it. Bummer!
Great review as always. There are about 4 Harley Benton models that I have been looking at for a while and an Explorer style is one of them. My favorite player has the Kramer version of these and he predates Metallica by a decade or two. Keep Rockin'.
Good video, good review! I've got a Harley Benton SC-1000 that pays as well as any guitar I've ever touched (although the Harley Benton active pickups are...not good). Re: the Extreme-76, how is the access to the upper frets? Is the neck/body joint so blocky that it's an impediment?
Ha ha some pickups are hit and miss true but it's the construction that always blows me away! Especially the necks! I'll have to check it the sc-1000! And there is not much clearance issue in the 22nd fret it does get closed in a little but that also has to do with the angle of your hand. I don't ever remember it being a big problem though.
Man I can't wait till mine arrives. I have a Stratocaster right now and I've been wanting something a little less.... normal I suppose 😂😂 when I saw this guitar online I knew I wanted it, I just watched your review to hear it in action 🤘🏻great review man!
@@oktaywastaken Yeah man it arrived, sounds great, screw on the bridge decided to fall out the other day so I slapped er back in. I'm planning on getting covers for the humbuckers cause it looks cooler and reduces hum (something I've been constantly annoyed by). Overall a great guitar for the price, can't complain. If you have any other questions please ask 🤘🏻

The sound is what makes a guitar. That guitar is good looking but those PICKUPS!!!!...those PICKUPS!!!!..for the love of god Harley Benton charge a little more and install some serious sound.
eyeballing this model of HB. I have a HB SC-450 GT with P-90's and a CLD-41SE-WN acoustic. love them both. only "issue" is I don't care for their tuners.

If you get the ex84 modern, you get Grover tuners, a Graph Tech Tusq XL nut, mahogany body and neck, and some Roswell active pickups.

Ha ha some pickups are hit and miss true but it's the construction that always blows me away! Especially the necks! I'll have to check it the sc-1000!
