In my opinion, the only good thing about This walmart HTTYD is... Knowing that toothless's genes got passed on, nightfury adn lightfury, merging genes, and carried on toothless's legacy. Knowing that the legend of the dragon riders was passed on, and hiccup's little team of riders didn't lose their names to time. They are legends that will never die. That is like, the only thing I liked about it. Cause, even their art style isn't as good as the legendary HTTYD.
It has a low budget and I think they made it as just another way to get profit and keep httyd alive. It’s a good show if you compare it to some of the other shows that came out in 2021

so they really are just copying things that happened in the movie in this show just in a worse way then the movie the show really seems to be just a bad copy of the movie and repeating scenes from it

I personally like DTNR because I just separate it in a way from httyd. I mean it’s 1,300 years into the future. They had a lower budget them they did for the movies. And it shows more dragons we never saw in the movies. I see Tom as Hiccups descendant (cause he is). And thunder as toothless descendant. Tom and Thunder are very similar to Hiccup and Toothless but that’s how it works. Not to mention the show is better quality then a lot of shows that came out in 2021.
Right honestly I don't mind watching dtnr either cuz just like you said I prefer separating them. Infact I agree that Httyd was a masterpiece and it can't be compared to it but that doesn't mean it's bad

The reason why Is because the main director of httyd 2 and 3 didn't want to continue milking the series so he ended it with httyd 3 but he should've made a series of hiccup and Astrid telling their kids stories about what they went through and about the dragons
