Saaaaaame. I was so disappointed when he was hitting one random letter after another, finally got to d, and said, "Is it possible I have something else wrong?"
Me when NL is BLASTING every word in the universe: "How is this mega mind doing this wtf" Me when I see a SINGLE word before NL does: "How is this dunce not getting this?" Why is my idiot brain like this
The most cursed moments are when NL is stumped on a word for minutes because he misread the prompt, like misreading sty as sly, and trying to put something after zero and minimum instead of before. Despite this his completion time is ten times better than what I could ever manage myself.
I was so sure that "_____ of (lacking)" was "devoid" I was practically losing it until I realized I should have never doubted NL's crossword prowess. I am ashamed of my actions and my deeds.
Hi NL, you should pay attention to the tense of the clues. They often give away if the word will be plural (you know it will end with S), or past/present. This makes the puzzle easier
one thing that helps me with these crosswords a lot is paying attention to the tenses of verbs in the clues. for instance, the clue "Purposely _plays_ less well for" is in third person, and the answer is also in third person. that line of thinking also helps me keep my mind open for possibilities on vague clues. with a clue like "Goofs", it's easy to assume it means a noun like "mistakes" and overlook the possibility of it being a verb like "errs".
I've been binging these crossword videos for so long that I'm starting to get good at them myself. Wasn't even looking at the screen when you said "build on" and my immediate response was "add to" without even seeing what letters were on the puzzle already.
The title is "Breaking the Code" To CHEAT is to BREAK the rules or CODE Things that are LEGAL don't BREAK the rules/CODE You can HONOR a CODE and/or can BREAK it MORSE is a type of CODE that can be cracked or BROKEN

@Northernlion have you seen the "Cracking the Cryptic"-channel? They are primarily a Sudoku-channel, but started as a British cryptic crosswords solving channel and still occasionally do so. It's an entirely insane style of crossword you might find interesting.
Loving the crossword content! Here's some advice if you want it. * If you see any of plural, abbreviation, acronym, foreign language, informal/slang; the answer will be of the same form. E.g. UFO pilots -> E.T.s (acronym + plural); Telly network -> Beeb (slang). * I think you've already worked it out but when a clue ends with "say" or "for example", it's like a Jeopardy clue where the clue is an example of the answer. * Traditionally Monday crosswords tend to be easier and the difficulty increases throughout the week. Not sure if that applies to the site you are using, though.
Okay but I have a massive test coming up in a few hours. I know the material but there’s a lot riding on it and I also don’t know how my technology will hold up. For whatever inexplicable reason, watching egg solve a crossword is the only thing calming me right now
NL is on average much better at this than me, but when he gets stuck he gets stuck for a longer period of time than me, and that creates a unique brand of reverence and rage
I thought him making an input mistake (like with ONN) in the first one would be as frustrating as it gets. But good lord, there's something about him misreading clues and never realising it afterwards that's way more frustrating. Good content, but it gets me so riled up, lol
These are a fun. Its nice to watch this kinda content cause i get to get mad at nl for not knowing something that was obvious to me because i know he is way smarter than me and much more capable of solving this than I. Punching up is the best entertainment frankly.
At 29:30 NL says "maybe George Mason, that was a joke, haha, fat chance" as a portal song reference even though the word mesa (like black mesa, the original lyric) was in the same crossword puzzle. This is of zero importance but I felt the urge to point this out because I am very bored at work.
Also NL, for such a smart guy, it really surprises me that omnipresent tripped you up. It's one of the three deific traits of Yahweh: Omnipotence (all powerful), omniscience (all knowing), and omnipresence (meaning his presence is everywhere, or all places).
The thing that irks me is when NL guesses verbs with different tenses and perspectives than the clue. For example, "Purposely plays worse" is present third-person singular, so you should expect the answer to be as well, in this case "goes easy on", or how "Rolled up" is past tense, so the answer should also likely end in -ed ("TPed"). Often, verb hints can easily answer a letter or two without even knowing the answer as a whole.
DO A CROSSWARD WITH DAN GHESLING! that would be funny and sick. battle of the wits. either together for comedy or separate with timers like old 3..2..1 go issac runs. same crosswords or different ones.
Yoko Onn had me in actual SHAMBLES the whole time
Saaaaaame. I was so disappointed when he was hitting one random letter after another, finally got to d, and said, "Is it possible I have something else wrong?"
20:50 had me saying Ono
it was merges also for me, when you have the whole thing figured out its alot more fun to watch NL dithering through it
NL was almost thwarted by the legendary Yoko Onn.
I didn't Think absolute zero or absolute minimum was that hard to Think of
Me when NL is BLASTING every word in the universe: "How is this mega mind doing this wtf"

Lol. Definitely guilty. Pest was mine xD.
@@zacm1488 right at the start of the video too, I mean, have mercy on us already.
why are we the same person
That's why I play the crossword before I watch the video to get a perspective. Can't talk shit if I solve only 70%.
Same as fuck
I am so pogged for this series. It’s the perfect combination of being “How can he not see it” and “Holy crap, how did he see that”.
The duality of Egg.
NL will quickly understand the most obscure complicated things but stutters on easier more obvious ones. It’s fantastic.
So true dude!!
i found it weird he saw "logroll" before "merges"

Depends if you're doing hard mode or normal
"'Pound sound' is "ARF"? How is-" *sudden comprehension and incoherent angry noises*
God, that got me good.
Is it because "pound" refers to a dog shelter?
Yep. He was thinking sound effects like 'Pow'.
that "see me after class" awoke something in me that I thought I left behind long ago
I see NL is already training to be a 90 year old grandpa.
This would be insanely impressive to be this speedy at that age
gets words I've never even heard of but chokes a bit on peakaboo
If he gave that one to the baby she would've had it on lock
lol when I saw it was P E E _ _ _ _ _, I thought maybe there was some game about guessing when the baby would pee next
He choked on ET_ ffs

i will really watch this man do anything huh
Agreed
It's a weird RUclips channel where crossword puzzles can be some of his best content. NL is a weird egg.
@@NicolaeHolley yes he is LOL and when he’s not with his beautiful wife and daughter he’s our weird egg 🥚
Yoko onn , really screwed up Jon lenoon’s career in the Beatlees.
Why is this unironically the best gameplay I've ever seen on the platform?
Hi NL, you should pay attention to the tense of the clues. They often give away if the word will be plural (you know it will end with S), or past/present. This makes the puzzle easier
I love that there's "mesa" on the board, but he sang the "maybe black mesa" line on Still Alive because of something else

This was a fun segment, I enjoyed it very much. The Yoko Onn debacle was incredible, chat was dying
“Adele’s voice range: ALOT” is exactly what I was thinking too lol
him leaving onn instead of ono killed me for so long.

Why do I like watching this man do crossword puzzles?
I love these and I'm going to be said when these eventually stop coming.

Does this website have a dark mode? I'm trying to fall asleep to these but the bright white kills my poor eyelids. Ryab pls.
all this brain power, and my man still misses tinted rocks.
Idk if anyone’s told you this, but the plurality of the answer will always match the plurality of the clue, which is why bugs wasn’t right.
Cracking the Cryptic sometimes does Cryptic Crosswords between doing sudoku.
Now THOSE are a challenge.
I just watched all of meglebox season 2 last night and the whole time after "eden" during the 2nd puzzle I was like "nomad, nomad!!"

Every time I think of John Lenonn, I also have to think about Yoko Onn
POG CITY! Also, can we have chess again? I was watching old videos and it was omega-pog!
Does anyone else sit there yelling at their laptop/phone when you have an answer he hasn't gotten yet?
At 29:30 NL says "maybe George Mason, that was a joke, haha, fat chance" as a portal song reference even though the word mesa (like black mesa, the original lyric) was in the same crossword puzzle. This is of zero importance but I felt the urge to point this out because I am very bored at work.
Also caught this and was hoping someone would bring it up. Makes no sense
Also NL, for such a smart guy, it really surprises me that omnipresent tripped you up. It's one of the three deific traits of Yahweh: Omnipotence (all powerful), omniscience (all knowing), and omnipresence (meaning his presence is everywhere, or all places).
NL thought that the clue was saying that 'omni' MEANT 'present', rather than just being a prefix that could come before 'present'.
And here I thought ryan knew every single word in the world. Feel betrayed!
