Where is the "I Burn" cover? That's sorely needed.
I'm working on more covers but they take so much longer to do because I have to work out what the chords are, experiment and transpose them into a key I can sing from the original Casey Williams key, work out arrangements that are new and different to the originals, record all the instruments, work out lyrics and record vocals, edit and mix everything, pay for licensing, host to iTunes & Google Play etc (which takes a surprising amount of time to do).
I also have a few originals to finish, which are a little easier as I have full creative control.

And what a process it is! Haha. I both love it and hate it simultaneously! Haha. Covers are especially hard when you're dealing with Jeff Williams songs. He is such a great musician and writer it can be very hard to figure out what is going on musically in a track. His melodies are also very complex so following them can be challenging as well.

Generally the mix is done with the vocals in mind so to have an instrumental would require a complete remix because it would sound a bit weird without the vocals filling out the mix.

I would kill for some tabs of... pretty much any of Jeff's songs (This Will Be The Day, Red Like Roses Part 2, and Time to Say Goodbye seem to be the only ones that exist on the internet right now). I get the feeling you're more of a "learn by ear" kind of guy and don't have any laying around, but on the off chance you do (or ever decide to make them), they would be greatly appreciated.
You're 100% right that I'm a "learn by ear" kind of guy!
Plus with my versions, I usually have to change the key so I can sing it, then I mess with parts that I either can't or won't play to make it fit my style more.
So even if I did write them out in tabs before recording them, they'd be all wrong for the proper versions.
Jeff's songs are so difficult to pick the parts out, so I'd say that's the main thing stopping people tabbing them out more readily.

I like this song very much, the only criticism I'd have is that [p] sounds are pretty poppy, if you know what I mean? They're a bit too plosive and I keep confusing them for percussion.
I know what you mean for sure! I recorded & mixed these almost 6 years ago and these covers kind of drive me insane with some of the things I missed with the production!
LONG EXPLANATION:
I had just purchased a mic pre that had a compressor when I recorded this cover, & I didn't realise that the compressor made a lot of these plosives worse by squashing the part after the plosive and missing the initial attack!
I was so involved with other elements, that I just completely missed them.
I'm kind of considering doing like an anniversary remix at some stage to fix some of these things up, but time will tell ;)

I think this cover would be much better if the vocals were clearer and had boosted volume. Sometimes I can't quite hear the lyrics over the instruments. Still a good cover, but in my opinion that's what's stopping it from being a really "great" cover
Thanks for the feedback. I spend months trying to perfect the mixes of these songs so your feedback is very much appreciated.
On every system I trialled the mix (car, studio, workplace PA, laptop) on the vocals were almost TOO loud, so it is a unusual discrepancy. It could also be a byproduct of RUclips compression? Food for thought. :)
