I was lucky to be in Jamaica for 4 months 1986 dancehall music was everywhere in buses and kitchens and on the streets with soundsystems build up on weekends.
Old school reggae was more psychedelic too more ethereal and chill, 90’s dancehall is more turn up for sure but if I wanna smoke a bit and chill I’m fs jamming 80’s

Before the following acts like Shabba Ranx, Beenie Man and Vybz Cartell. Yellow Man was the man for the 80s. When he came to Nottingham he caused a road block at the Marcus Garvey centre! Many were curious to witness what he looked like, as back then you had to rely on album covers or vhs to see what MCs looked like. Salute to King Yellow Man still performing worldwide till this day!
