Ben, that's the perfect house to just make an offer on the entire property and then go through it all one video at a time!! Then you could do a house renovating series and finally sell it off for a huge profit!!
I wouldgo right back there..I would stop somewhere and get me a trailer..fill the.. van and a trailer...I'm going nuts. Your ship has come in dude don't miss it
RENT A CUBE TRUCK OR SOMETHING, I would never leave. I would be there overnight looking at items. searching for stashes in every corner of that house!!
couldnt close my mouth for 10 min. this is insane! what a dreamland! thank you for sharing this with the world. i bet ewaste ben will end up in a documentary one day
OMG what an amazing score. You could spend a year scrapping all of that. I helped clean out a hoarder house once. It's so hard for people who don't suffer from hoarding syndrome to understand. And we scrappers need to be careful that we don't become hoarders. Looking forward to seeing what you find to keep in your collection.
I think hoarding syndrome is complex, many possible underlying causes. I respect hoarders but there's a point I think they may take it over the top and I don't understand that level. But this guy was also an electrical repair man, he worked for the military ordinance factory as an electrical engineer, there's a hundred super technical books on electronics he had, I think he was a genius but an eccentric
@@eWasteBen ironically, it doesn't look like he repaired anything. However, also ironically, it looks like a bomb went off in his house. The thing is, he could probably tell you where everything was.
I'm glad you're recovering all of that e waste. I fix vintage electronics, too. The only non-scrap value of that haul would be tearing down every PC to component parts and selling pieces over many years on eBay. That would require selling the items as untested or tons of labor testing components. I see no museum pieces there. For museum pieces you're looking for complete items that were expensive in their day. Most of that stuff was mid to low end in its day. People who are creating vintage PCs want to build something that they could not afford back in the day, so the highest end components are what you're looking for. For example I recently bought a top of the range Socket 370 processor from 20 years ago and I paid about $70 US for it. You're lucky to get $5 (scrap value after fees) for most Socket 370 processors. Hope this provides some insight into the importance of recycling. Most people buy low end or slightly better than low end junk that's good for a few years and is then is forever worth scrap value.
@@eWasteBen You will get more for selling them complete than scrapping them. Please look into selling them complete before you scrap these old systems. There are a lot of collectors for these old systems and some are worth several hundred a piece.
100% ben i would drive down from Sydney and buy some of those pc's from you. The are worth more than the gold content by far! Even some slot cards can sell for hundreds of dollars.
I am having to deal with my 84-year-old father and his hoarding habits with scrap on his private property, When he bought his house 48 years ago having a scrapyard at home was no big deal, but now they are building million-dollar houses all around him and he doesn't understand why he has to clean his yard up.
Should pile all those vintage PC ,s and place an add to sell them . Would make way more than selling for gold .even some monitors I saw are sorte after . I would buy a couple of computer
Wow, I've worked with hoarders in my hypnosis practice. The condition doesn't make sense to non hoarders but all I have is compassion for them. Most clients finish in a few sessions. Hoarding is incredibly complicated. Hoarders have to think of a year of weekly appointments. In the end, I'd bet the hoarder would be glad you are making good use of that stash.
ive had a few jobs like this and got just as excited as you did Ben, thanks for sharing this video with us man, really enjoyed it, thanks Ben, from Essex in England
that poor guy never got to taste the spoils of his haul...good on you ben, you're the perfect person to recieve and appreciate what he had..lucky man bro!
wow awesome score watch over there Ben there is a very thin line between a scrapper and a hoarder lol, and that crunchy caps has good potential for silver recovery👍😀👍
those vintage game systems can be worth big bucks even damaged they still bring a nice sum of cash,i'd go back to that house and load up again and again and again and again that house is a once in a lifetime find may not be another!
I agree with you Ben, you've pretty much just said what I said in my first comment, you were supposed to get these, they were supposed to go to somebody who would truly appreciate them, save some and process the rest properly! I hope you got yourself back there straight away, unload, fill up, unload and fill up while you can!!
Wasn’t over excited until the amstrad 1640 popped up. Started my career with the first PC in the company where I work, a 1512 with a 10mb winchester drive :-)
The Amstrad 1640 is a good example of what NOT to scrap. I'd bet the matching monitor is sitting there somewhere. If I was there I'd have concentrated on the CRTs, especially anything with multi pins, colour, rgb, ttl, or serial 'glass' terminals. Ben before you start scrapping anything please please check with the collectors groups!
Amazing so many quality electronic components, I can’t imagine what will be trashed, but great you are able to get your piece of the lions share. Can’t wait for part 2! Oh congrats on 100k subs Ben!!
Not only an incredibly awesome pick up , but the future content videos is just mind boggling i cant wait to see what's next .................... Thumbs Up
Lol ben i posted on facebook saying i will take scrap for free and well i had ppl msg saying can you come (today saturday) and i now got a full 5×8 trailer load to process gulp.....i will be getting plenty of circuit boards
At around the 31:50 mark that’s an old 8 inch floppy drive, possibly Shugart brand? On the corner of the drive that’s the motor that turned the flywheel and floppy, not a transformer. Also regarding the oscilloscopes you should grab any Hewlett-Packard or Tektronix brand test equipment you see there. Both are good for gold chip and transistor content, plus some Tektronix scopes (the ones with the partially ceramic CRT) have gold coating on the inside of the CRT.
Omg how awesome Ben definitely a find of a lifetime looking forward to seeing part 2 this is way better than street .scraping and I enjoy street scraping just love the old pc good luck with it all Ben
999 Dusan might be able to answer your question about that green capacitor! I remember he did one of his videos with a green capacitor like that and it had a good amount of silver! Maybe some palladium. He would know forsure. This is an absolutely incredible find! Looking forward to part 2 as well. Have a Great Day My Friend!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!Mind blown, I have seen hoarders homes. But this one WOW!!!!!!! Hope you find a stash of CPUs. Stay safe, A friend in Pennsylvania USA Robin Jo
Here in Europe the trend is to open up the old landfills and mine them for metals, plus clean up the environment. In Central Europe that is already a big business.

Ben - if you begin hoarding we'll know the spirit of that guy has processed you 🤣
Heh, not likely, I love hoarding some stuff but I also enjoy clear space and normality.
@@eWasteBen OK, we'll keep an eye on you for a while just to make sure 😆
Hoarders always inspire me to sort out my own place for time to time. Good on you Ben for recycling all the electronics.
It is so much to grab. Don't know what to take first. Well if that happen to me.😜
Hoarding is when the whole house and yard is cramped with old stuff never to be scrapped sold or processed. don't confuse scrapping with hoarding.
