Eramaan Viimeinen is the same song as The Last of the Wilds, but with Finnish lyrics sung by Jonsu from Indica. From the first album with Anette , Dark Passion Play. Troy started playing with Nightwish in 2007, made permanent in 2013, along with Floor.
🐺 memory refresher course- Uilleann (ill-en or ill-yen) pipes. 😁 The Irish version of bagpipe using a bellows squeezed by the elbow. Uilleann is the Gaelic word for elbow.
You did the Imaginaerum movie version of Slow Love Slow, the Montreux 2012 version of that is one of the few good live with Anette.

Tarja left, Anette came in, Anette left, Floor came in. That is the order with singers. Troy became full time band member in 2013 at same time as Floor and that was the big change imo.

Montreux Jazz festival is held in Switzerland. I love this instrumental. Just makes you feel good. When you’re ready to check out another Nightwish instrumental, The Eyes of Sharbat Gula, a little more subdued, mystical, and ethereal, is a good one. (No video). Emppu plays ESP guitars. You have to be a badass guitarist to get a custom made model with your initials.

Troy can play: Overton low whistle, Uilleann pipes - which used in here. Tin whistle, vocals, guitar (Fylde Oberon), keyboards, bass guitar, pump organ, bouzouki, cittern, bodhrán, mandola, harmonium, aerophone...
And is also a punster -
In an interview he was asked "Is there anything else you wish to learn to play (if anything)?"
    Troy:"Ice Hockey!!"

Hi Dears - this is one of two of my favourite Metal instrumentals (the other being Switch -625 by Def Leppard). Always enjoy your posts and love the doggies.

Hey hey! Good song, great performance, and a very enjoyable reaction. Loved it! Sue, you asked your viewers what it takes to have a guitar model named after you, so, here's how this usually goes depending on the level of your talent:
    Low tier:
You’ll usually receive discounts on gear. Most of the time these discounts are around what you might see the same guitar pop up for on the used market. You’ll get some light promotion on social media from the brand, maybe.
    Mid-tier:
You might get a guitar or two for free every year, and you’ll also get discounts on gear. The brand will go further out of their way to offer you support you via social media, tour support, etc…
    High-tier:
More free guitars, likely custom ones. Tons of support via social media and other avenues and…
You might even get offered a signature model at this point!
If you do, you’ll usually be paid a portion of each sale. This is the real way artists really make money on endorsement deals. You might even be paid a little bit of money for signing on, but it’s usually not much or enough to really sway someone one way or another. Depending on how well your model sells, you can make good-ish money in this tier. That’s why you might want to put serious thought into what kind of model the brand you’re working with is missing, and then fill the need for that model with your signature. That kind of kills the “signature” part of things but hey, if you want a fat check…
    Godlike:
You’re a household name. The company will do whatever it takes to make you happy. This is when serious money gets involved. You’ll get just about anything you ask for, within reason, and you’ll definitely get a signature model. Think of names like Steve Vai, John Mayer, and of course Emppu Vuorinen.
For a bit more in-depth look at Emppu's signature guitar collection, here's what I was able to find out about it:
In 2004 Vuorinen started using an ESP custom shop version of the Horizon known as the EV-1. The EV-1 has an alder body, maple neck (neck through construction), ebony fingerboard, Seymour Duncan pickups (a Duncan Custom TB-5 in the bridge, a SHR-1n Hot Rails in the middle, and a SH2-n Jazz in the neck), 5 way switch, single volume control and a gold Floyd Rose tremolo system. He regularly used two during live shows, a purple one tuned to DGCFAD and a white one tuned to EADGBE. After the release of Dark Passion Play in 2007 he toured with a new signature guitar, the EV-2. This was very similar to the purple EV-1, but now had a tone control and a large decal on the body known as the “Harem Girl”. The third incarnation of the series, the EV-3 appeared in 2012 featuring the Imaginaerum cover art and no middle pickup. On the band’s 2012/13 Imaginaerum World Tour, Vuorinen used the EV-1 and EV-3. During rehearsals for Nightwish’s eighth album Emppu has been using a new custom guitar, built for him by Ruokangas Guitars.
Hope this answers your question somewhat, Sue. So, are you planning on making a name for yourself as a new and upcoming guitar player anytime soon? Or are you just curious as to how these things work? 😉

I’m only a beginner so no name for that 😂 but that was honestly also interesting to me. Thank you so much for sharing all of that info!

Great version this. Some great shots in the videography too.
I always recommend this version beca
Use of the close-ups of the pipes which look great. There are more great close-ups in the rest of the show.
Emppu plays an ESP. The model is ESP-1, for Emppu Vuorinen model 1.
    Love Switzerland too.
You should watch the Gear God's video of Nightwish techs talking through their kit.

Hi Nick, I guess it's a typo or an autocorrection thing and you wanted to write that Empuu plays an ESP EV-1 signature model, right?

@@matzek.3220 Dammit. Lost half the sentence. You finished it almost word for word - I only added at the end "(for Emppu Vuorinen mark 1)".

Can anyone explain to me how Nightwish ended up at a Jazz festival? Did they also play a adjusted “Jazzy” setlist?

Not specific an adjusted jazzy setlist, otherwise listen to some Anette NW songs. From the three female fronted singers she had the most jazzy touch in her vocals.

Jazz festivals often do not present a jazz-only startup as that limits the ticket sales. Still, today, could NW be booked for a Jazz festival??
