Hello there. Since a couple of people have brought awareness to this issue, I decided to pin your comment and voice my reasoning behind what I did in the video. The game does, as you say, treat the melon pult and winter melon as two different plants. However you can't plant the winter melon without the melon pult. So the game might treat them as two different plants in the way they are presented to you, however in the actual gameplay they interact a lot more like one plant, since you can't plant the winter melon separately from the melon pult. I bring this issue up in the video in the form of not wanting to "dowgrade" to the winter melon since it only costs 200 sun and the melon pult costs 300 sun, preventing me from using it. As for the cob cannons I figured it was acceptable to use it, as well as I tried to minimize the impact of kernel pults as best as I could by only being able to plant the cob cannon once I had saved a sufficient amount of sun. I did the same for the reapeater and gatling pea, only being able to plant them when I had them both recharged and had enough sun. One part of the argument is that, the comment didn't specifically state that I'm forbidden from using this strategy, therefore I thought it's acceptable for me to do the challenge in this manner. If I haven't done the challenge like I've done it in the video, I would be forced to save and load the game, or hope for really good RNG so that the balloon zombies or digger zombies don't come, or perfectly use up my lawn mowers, which would have made for a much more boring video, in my opinion. It would have forced me to use only the threepeater and melon pult, which would turn the challenge into a grindy, RNG fest. If you feel that I've cheated, fair enough, I won't take that away from you. I'm always down for redoing the challenge if enough people think that I've broken the rules, or haven't stuck to the rules as much as I should. A challenge ive been attempting on my own playthrough- no projectiles, so no peashooters, mushrooms, catapults, no cob canon- pretty much the only plants allowed are the bombs and the muncher. Its insane, some of the minigame levels were impossible to me so maybe you got more luck or endurance for it :)

If I were you, I would have chosen imitater for another kernel-pult, so that they could both be immediately planted to set up a cob cannon, rather than waiting for the kernel-pult to end its cooldown.
Only have a maximum of 10 plants on the field. If you wish to switch plants or move them, you must shovel them up. Sun plants are part of this rule too. (things like lily pads count, but not flower pots. Insta use plants also count as one plant on the field.)

Next challenge: Survival - Day (Hard), but you can only use plants that can bring down and/or kill Balloon Zombies. You may choose to use sun producers as well, if you want.
Seeing your challenges recently i can only say that these thing are way more easily beaten if you started with 4 to 6 sunflowers in an horizontal line and minimal defence. Just put a sunflower were you no zombies spawn and continue the line up to 5 or 6, then go down and surrender some of your lawnmowners until you can defend your left off lanes. Money wont be a problem unless is endless survival and heavy use of special plants.

A defense based around the colors of the rainbow. Can be through Projectiles and/or the Plants themselves
Can be done with one color per column or one color per row.
-Red (EXAMPLE: Cacti darts, Jalapenos, Cherry Bombs, Magnet-shroom).
-Orange/Brown (EXAMPLE: Walnuts, Spikeweeds, Sunflowers, Pumpkins)
-Yellow (EXAMPLE: Cob Cannons, Gold Magnet, Sunshroom, Corn-pults) [Can be combined with Orange if there are only 5 rows.]
-Green (EXAMPLE: Peashooters, Melon Pults, Repeaters, Squashes)
-Blue (EXAMPLE: Ice-Shrooms, Ice-Melon, Ice-Pea)
-Purple (EXAMPLE: Fumeshroom, Gloomshroom, Puffshroom, Scaredy Shroom, DOOMSHROOM's explosion.)

If I were you, I would have chosen imitater for another kernel-pult, so that they could both be immediately planted to set up a cob cannon, rather than waiting for the kernel-pult to end its cooldown.
Only have a maximum of 10 plants on the field. If you wish to switch plants or move them, you must shovel them up. Sun plants are part of this rule too. (things like lily pads count, but not flower pots. Insta use plants also count as one plant on the field.)

survival day hard except you can only use pea type plants (peashooter, snow pea, repeater, etc.) and sunflowers. only insta plant you can use is squash. good luck if you do this challenge
edit: you can also do the reverse of this challenge, only pult plants (kernel-pult, cabbage-pult, and melon-pult) as well as sunflowers and squash
Survival: Pool(Hard), but you can only plant in flower pots.(you can use lily pads just fine)

Next challenge: Survival - Day (Hard), but you can only use plants that can bring down and/or kill Balloon Zombies. You may choose to use sun producers as well, if you want.
Seeing your challenges recently i can only say that these thing are way more easily beaten if you started with 4 to 6 sunflowers in an horizontal line and minimal defence.
Just put a sunflower were you no zombies spawn and continue the line up to 5 or 6, then go down and surrender some of your lawnmowners until you can defend your left off lanes.
Money wont be a problem unless is endless survival and heavy use of special plants.
