It's really stupid to not have New Gen features for PC. EA is really living up to their rep with that decision.
Same. I would've bought this year on PC (for the first time since Madden 25 on PS3), but if the PC version is lazily this last-gen, forget it EA. Just a reminder of why I don't buy Madden.
The fact FIFA 23 will be next gen on PC and madden 23 is not is a joke, makes n sense at all.
Agreed it makes no sense, they literally build the game on pc and my pc is 3.5 times more powerful than the "next gen" systems. I might have considered getting it this year if the next gen features were available for the pc version.

The players look insane on old gen, they just moved the sliders all the way to 10 on the body types it looks so bad. It reminds me of how you would make your player look like a giant for fun back in the day. Doesn't even look human
they actually made the pads and players look significantly more bulky this year for some reason, and i feel like it's to force the current gen players to jump to next gen

EAs reasoning for giving PC gamers the old gen version of the game was that they wanted to keep the best version exclusive to the newest consoles. I just don't understand why you would punish PC players like that and still charge full price. EA just straight up telling me they don't care if I enjoy the game
It's actually $10 cheaper on PC, like they can make up for blatantly neglecting us with ten bucks.

The transition to next Gen, is no longer influenced by hardware technological advancements and innovations, and more focused on making profits for specific consoles. I have no idea how features like intros are limited to the 'new gen'. Leave alone the fact that Current Gen share features with the PC version.
Yep, the technology has nothing to do with the changes. They just focus on the new consoles. Shame what they did to the pc version.

They somehow made the player models worst in last gen, because on madden 22 and earlier maddens they weren’t this huge and bulky. Damn near got them looking like the nfl street models
All they did was make them look like generated players, they got lazy and didn't bother to edit the players into a realistic build

Did they update the body types? I just bought the game on sale for 40 dollars (PS4) I wouldn’t have bought it if I was aware of the bodies being this amateur. They literally regressed. 2022 and the player models are worse than they were 10 years ago
Thanks for the info EA would never give us…cant’t wait for more gameplay. I have a PS4 and all the main updates have been removed which is crazy…I’m not spending $60 dollars for a game that can’t update on old consoles.
The base $60 game comes with both PS4 and PS5 versions so if you buy madden 23 for your PS4 you can have madden for PS5 once you get your hands on one

i mean as someone whos been playin madden for years i know they could do better but the realism is a big improvement , but i feel like being able to choose or get a select set of celebrations would be fun, and maybe a full combine , more college teams for FOF, also maybe training like they had in the old madden with weightlifting , 40 yard dash, tackling dummy style drills, and even maybe 7 on 7 scrimmages in the off-season or exclusive or FOF they can do a lot man i know it’s not easy but they can do it , i just hope the reason they aren’t doing anything major is to wait until ncca
I wish they had a ton of throwing animations like they do in The Show with swings/pitches and shots in 2k
True there's alot they can do to improve they jus see it as we give em the same game with one or two changes and they gone buy it ery year
Same with jukes they should have different animations u can select for breaking tackles or spins stiff arms even the way pas rushers rush there should be different animations for speed ends and power dts as far as they move sets
Just go play old madden or 2k football games. Everything’s been removed. Old games are still far better than anything today.
They did all the way back in Madden 18, i don't get why they removed it considering it was on the exact same engine.

Thanks for this, you are a hero! I must say, the next gen Madden looks better than it has in years by adding things like tackle battles, running momentum, tackling physics, the ability to put the throw where you want it, you know all the things that made Madden 2005 great! Seriously, adding back features and calling them new is so embarrassing, but at least it seems to look and play more like actual football.
Next gen only looks better with graphics but old gen gameplay is way better
I appreciate this, as EA doesn't list anywhere (easy to find) what is being left out of the PC version. Last year got a real sour taste in my mouth hearing about a new features and just not having access to them in my version. With a few people talking about it might come in a patch later down the road. Well on the bright side no reason to get a new Madden game now. (Or maybe ever).
It makes no sense for the PC version to not have the next gen features🤷♂️ Fifa did the same thing last year claiming it would limit the amount of people that could play. Why they don’t have both options is asinine.
To be fair though if you're on PC you just need a PS2 emulator and you can play the last good Madden games for free, rather than give EA money for a product with less features then games that came out two decades ago.

It’s on sale for 39.99 right now. It’s a really bad. Madden 22 is better. So many of the players do not look real what so ever. It’s like they made the offensive line abnormally large just to troll us

I’m very big on customization and attention to detail, and I’ve noticed for next gen when wearing a relaxed jersey you can’t wear a towel with it. Also when creating a build & maximizing their muscle size you can’t really see an increase other than their arms. Hopefully customization gets tuned as well.
Does it still erase what u did when u create/edit a player to where h have to go back and redo it?
Regular Gen Madden is better and I own a Xbox Series X
1. Juking feels more real
2. Running with Ball looks more Realistic
3. Movement is more fun

@@SOTGFeaTure yea the arms aren’t a problem but when it comes to the lower body there’s no difference. If you look at the players models like Saquon or Aj Dillon we can’t make similar body types.

I wish the awareness of players made a difference. For example: a QB with 70 overall would only be allowed to see 3 out of 5 players icons. A wr with a 70 overall you wouldn't be able to see their route and maybe they won't know the hot route you tell them to run. Things like that would make it a little more fun.

That’s not at all how football works Bro. Awareness has more to do with in play decisions. Good example: when Tom Brady threw that TD to gronk in the super bowl. Gronk realized he was covered up and the corner was fixated on Brady. So he cut left to get open and Brady hit him. That’s awareness

I see critics say every year, “This Madden is going in the right direction. Let’s hope the next installment is the definitive one.” Been hearing that forever. They’ve been making these for like 4 decades. This should be the best sports game ever made by now with just jaw dropping detail and content.

I absolutely love the next gen version. About 10 hours in now. It’s not perfect but a huge upgrade. The one thing I don’t understand is why aren’t the New alternate Jersey’s in the game?
I read somewhere that EA couldn't get the new uniforms before they were released by the teams.

Nah this is the last year for old gen for madden and 2k. Everything is about to be next gen only especially when ncaa comes back next year. Next year they said will have refs added, a actual career mode that connects ncaa and madden so I doubt old gen would be able to handle all that plus all the other upgrades

Thank goodness the jersey number thing is a bug, I also noticed the lineman's pads look really weird they all look like Michael Bennett pads.
I played Madden 08 for years until Madden 19 on PC. For me it's not a big deal to not have new gen features and I am happy to be able to play it on computer.
This is wild, I had no idea it was like this tbh. Whats crazy to me is that PC is considered "last gen". Most any gaming pc can do the same or better than the "new" consoles..
I Was looking forward to get this on my steam deck but might just download a community roster update it's the same game
Unless you want the free agency changes it's best to stay with 22 if you aren't on a new console.

I pre ordered the game for ps4 and now thinking about a return cause feel so ripped off kinda like 60 dollars for and updated new roster and small little upgrades in the gameplay but not compared to next gen. I will say tho next gen is seeming to be a little less fun with that new 50/50 ball.

Yeah that’s why I held off, I was at least expecting them to do small detail updates like body types, and equipment updates, but they said screw old Gen completely lol, now I have to go back to looking for a ps5 at retail price

Some of the body’s still look off. They have linemen looking like they’re 9 months pregnant. And players like Aaron Jones who’s shaped like a receiver is built like a mini Derrick Henry

Why are ratings lower on old gen compared to new gen? (I.E. Fields 74 on old gen 77 on new gen)
They're not lower. When you go into a franchise the ratings change sometimes based things.

In franchise I edit the pads size to make them a little bigger.
Glad they are patching up those weird uniform number visuals for next-gen cuz some of those just looked bad. Madden is usually spot on when it comes to uniform designs at least.

The new body models on old gen are honestly worse. Like I appreciate them trying to add some variance to it, but they look horrible. Every single lineman looks like they weigh 500 pounds.

I just Switched from Xbox one to next gen and when I played madden 23 the game Is literally beautiful the New Jerseys, pads, player momentum, graphics, I recommend next gen madden it’s a whole different level

If you have current gen just keep playing Madden 22 as it's almost the same visuals as Madden 23 on nex gen minus the useless field sense and passing. What I am trying to say is the player models on current gen in M23 took a giant step backwards from madden 22 as players look bulky with giant shoulder pads it's terrible. I played M23 on current gen then went back to M22 and the player models on field are so much better and I would say its closer to M23 on next gen. Lamar looks like a linebacker on current gen in M23 its terrible.
I literally went back to Madden 21 for Franchise Mode. I hate how they overhauled the Scouting process in 22. I usually just sim the first couple of seasons anyway so I can accumulate Draft Picks and rebuilt, so having the most current players aren't an issue for me.

1. It had bare minimum changes from Madden 22 and changes for the worse not the better
2. All players per position had the same body types and were very blocky ( All linemen had same body shape, all linebackers had same body shape, and etc.)
3. The O-Line & D-Line looked obese
4. There was barely any new animations
5. I didn’t see any group/multiple people tackles and no tackle battles either
6. The passing was the same as well..no precision targeting
7. Also no Griddy from Chase or Jefferson
Fifa 23 can get next gen on PC but not Madden ok lmao I hate EA so much
