Hu Tao's charged attack has a shorter ICD than normal, and while Guide to Afterlife is active, it has a faster windup too. Those are two key technical details to why she can Vaporize up to *~90%* of her Pyro damage.
I see people sometimes point out that Hu Tao needs to be kept below 50% health as if thats a bad thing, but since she has HP scaling, even at 50% she's often at a similar or higher HP compared to other damage dealers on 100%, since her skill reduces by a % of her remaining health and her burst heals based on max health, it's fairly easy to rach an equalibrium as long as you are somewhat careful
@@fzhs7030 yes but it's only on "nuke" case, when you still have time on low hp before Bennet field heal you up, quickly do skill then burst. After she's on 70%+ hp then she's weaker. Benny c6 fix that tho
The < 50 % HP mechanic buff she receives makes her unique and viable even to this day. Some buffs you get to choose in spiral abyss requires lower HP and she fits perfectly. Thanks to the buff scaling her max HP, getting the right artifacts is easier too c:
I love Hu Tao so much. The main reason why is because she’s the reason I got back into Genshin, due to not only her looks but- pretty much everything else about her (gameplay, story, and personality.) She is my favorite character in Genshin because she’s just so well thought out as a character. I really hope I can get her c1 r1 when she gets another rerun bcuz I missed her rerun in 3.4 with Yelan, and came back to Genshin at around 3.6.
I actually revisited my very first account where I had c1 Hu Tao and didn't play on for a few years, it felt so good being able to vaporize my enemies (literally) with her .
Hutao never disappoints! She helps me clear floor 12 (36*) of this current worst cycle of spiral abyss, compared to other pyro dps I have to use on chamber 2 (burgeon goes boom)
@@uramis00 i used her alongside nahida, xq and zl. I think i didnt change anything to her playstyle, just play like normal. Well given that it took me some retries to finally pass, i suggest just bonk the enemy until you can clear it~ i dont have homa fyi, just r5 deathmatch
Hutao is the unit that i really looked forward too, i resisted other patches to get her in her debut, and i don't regret pulling for her, took me a lot of patches to get her to c1 and im waiting now for a homa and yelan rerun.
As my first 5 star I have invested on her for over 3 years so seeing her still survive and being top teir still I'm just happy to still be a Hu Tao main.
Annihilating everything in the overworld with her charged attack is dreadfully monotonous. Thus, I've ingeniously embraced Hu Tao's pure HP-focused build, often dubbed a meme build, bolstered by healing bonuses from artifacts. Coupled with the Favonius Lance for reliable burst uptime, her ultimate has the potential to replenish up to 50k of her own health when striking five targets at once. Embracing this unconventional setup for sheer enjoyment in overworld engagements, I fearlessly confront encounters head-on, marveling at her astonishing sustainability.
@@joeltoomer3332 aqua is not the bis even for yelan, elegy is much better for her. Besides only ganuy reverse melt can abuse of this ton of cdmg. Look I'm not saying that aqua is bad, undoubtedly the best bow in the game, but Homa is far much better
Even if Hu Tao has sort of fallen off in terms of the meta, she will always be a consistent and reliable choice. Probably until the end of the games lifespan. She has no really terrible use cases and her vertical investment ceiling (c1 Homa) is pretty accessible if you like her.
fallen off? more options for single target in the form of hyperbloom is not a hu tao nerf, it just makes her a less valuable pull, funerational is still one of the best teams for single target in the game iirc. I'll agree dendro has messed up so much with our understanding of what's good and what's bad
@@simonditomasso9868Funeral national is one of the hardest comps to play, Hu Tao is already hard to play and now getting Xiangling's burst on time without Bennett becomes another major issue in this comp.
@@fzhs7030 Funerational is actually the second highest dps team(the highest is the super tryhard kazuha team where you double swirl). You're right that Fischl is extremely good, damage is almost on par with funerational and both are better than Zhongli.
I got Hu Tao (and Childe) so late, from their last banners and with a c6 Xingqiu and c0 Yelan I just absolutely love her gameplay and her damage, even with dragon's bane she is a beast.
I love playing Hu tao C1 it's some of the most is fun. Nahida does damage but doesn't feel as fun and it just feels like I'm planting bomb fruit then lighting it up.
My reason for playing and maining Hu Tao has alvays came back to one thing - Takahashi Rie. I have "changed" my main over the years, yet I still come back to Hu Tao every time just to hesr that sweet "Sayonara~"
As someone who had Hu Tao as first Limited 5 star character from her first banner, not to mention I got lucky getting her back to back that I've never had stamina problems with her, I couldn't agree more. Until now, still using her in spiral abyss.😊
I think being an on fielder that gets a massive dps bump from vape makes her great because she can output hypercarry damage while being able to use two of the best off-field dps instead of buffer supports.
Pretty much agree. Only issue I have with Hu Tao is they put those stupid fungi at the start of the abyss, and they all fly out of her attack range and I hate them for that. So, I use yoimiya for that since she has actual attack range
You say itto depends too much of an specific team but... Isnt hu tao the same? Her teams always needs of xinqiu (yelan only if C2) and a good shield (mostly zhongli). That's the same as itto, gorou and albedo.
Right? I've heard this argument for other characters, mainly Itto, but also Yoimiya, Childe, etc. Yet for some reason I don't see people bring this up very often with Hu Tao. It seems like she always needs a shielder (either Zhongli, or C4 Yanfei) and then Yelan/Qinxqiu to be effective.
You gotta Remember That Pyro Has a Flex Team Comps Option , Hu tao Works Great With other Units in overall Dmg ( Example : Melt Dps , Nuke Melt , Burning / Burgeon Vape ) While Itto Will Always Will Be confine To one Reaction And Depends On Mono Geo Team Comps To Carry Him
Yeah one of her teams has two hydro supports with a 5 star shielder, the core is Xinqiu. You can do burgeon Hu Tao with dendro mc or nahida, melt with Layla as shielder, beidou for overload. Xiangling also works amazing with her for pyro resonance and shred. Lots of 4 star options that work very well with her
I‘ve been a Hu Tao main since Day One and she is the first Character i‘ve triple crown‘d. I‘m happy that my favorite Character is also one of the strongest ❤
I don't play anymore but I was happy to get two funeral directors in one ten pull, I was the enjoyer of Hu Tao's QoL. but yeah, Yelan's release and 3.0's change in hydro resonance from heal increase to hp increase helped her a lot. Yelan even helped with Xingqiu's ER problems. it was really fun to play with Yelan and Hu Tao but life and Sumeru got in the way. if Sumeru wasn't just that stupidly big and have you question where a cave entrance is.
Hu Tao is one of those DPS that doesn't care about the patches or buffs in spiral abyss. It won't matter if lag or your phone/pc id on gire, that half is cleared without much difficulty.
No adepti powers, no formal battle training, probably one of the weakest characters from a lore standpoint, still arguably the most powerful damage dealer in the game + bomber personality. This is why she’s been my main since she came out.
Its good that you mentioned personality. I tend to play characters for long period of time because of their personality really, when I relate to them more. I like playing Hu Tao, Yoimiya, Klee, Kazuha, and Kokomi! Recently, I am learning to like Tighnari too. I remembered playing with Amber a lot because I like her personality as well, and not because of her damage or playstyle.
I have C1 Hutao w/ R1 Homa but she was benched for more than a year since my CW artifacts sucks but she was already good back then. When I discovered how good Gilded Dreams on her which I have a ton of very good ones, her damage became big dumb nuts and she actually is the reason why I was able to 36* the 3.7 Abyss. Plus her JP VA is so good that she was never boring.
“Catalyst is the worst weapon type” Man, catalyst is the best weapon type. Access to infused normals and CA with no caveats can be incredibly valuable. There is a reason why Sucrose is more flexible than Kazuha in terms of teammates - she’s a catalyst, she can work on-field just as well as off-field.
"Catalyst is the best weapon type" -- so true! In elemental reaction-based fight elemental attacks are what player needs. All top-tier non-catalyst DPS are top-tier because they have infusion (except for one dear physical Eula, but she's quite fallen off). Catalysts are The weapon that gives us elemental attacks unconditionally. Yes, there are drawbacks (like high stamina cost and element-immune enemies), but if catalysts had none of that, why would we need any other weapon types? (I'm saying this as a proud Scaramouche main and Yanfei enjoyer) I think Vars made a mistake attributing clunkiness of a character (like Klee) to a weapon type. And I can second the notion that claymore is the worst. It's. Slow. As fuck.
I personally have a ranking of 1. Bows you can literally make a whole team with this type and it'll be good 2 Swords are also very versatile and normally pretty fast and have good aoe 3 Catalyst having constant elemental application is amazing. 4 Polearms I personally find their movements a little weird to use as a main dps but I love using polearm supports 5. Claymores I think we all know why. Slow and half of them are pyro.
@@Josh-qt5zi personally I find bows to be the worst. Their normal attacks can be as awkward as catalysts with bullshit autotargeting, but don’t have benefit of infusion/AoE and for some cursed reason bow users are always moving AWAY from their target quite a lot, falling out of their range. Their charged attacks are long, prone to being interrupted and simply not fun. Zero out of ten
I play her because she’s the prettiest most beautiful, Gorgeous, attractive, elegant, graceful, cute, good looking, captivating, enchanting, charming, adorable, admirable, angelic, heavenly, lovely character in the entire game
Hu Tao is my favorite character in all of Genshin, from her gameplay, to her story, to her English VA's portrayal of her personality. I don't play Genshin anymore, but if I ever came back, I know Hu Tao would be able to help me go through all the new content.
I've been getting a Hu Tao every time she has had a banner because I very much love the character. So I've spent a scary amount of time for each of her artifacts and even a staff of Homa. The fact that she's an incredible DPS throughout these 2.5 years since her release has made me extremely happy.
i couldnt get raiden shogun so i pulled for hu tao and got her. I was at AR 43. IMO she is not beginner friendly or very f2p friendly if you want her best teams. Furthermore playing with c0 was sometimes a giant inconvenience. It was an absolute struggle to build her team while i was approaching AR 55+. Although when her team was built, she hits like a truck. Although if you are new I think neuvillette is genuinely one of the best characters for beginners and F2P. I built him in 2 weeks and slapped on terribly invested supports and was able to clear the abyss easily.
I’m pretty casual with my play style. Before C1, I just didn’t bother trying to animation cancel. After C1, I still didn’t care. Personally, I’ve always thought that people saying she’s mechanically difficult is a bit over-exaggerated.
Before c1 I dash cancelled even though it cost a lot of stamina. I just didn’t care about stamina lol. Without cancelling I find myself going to narnia, so I like to dash cancel to keep myself locked onto enemies
It also helps a lot that the only 5 star Pyro DPS units that came after her were BOTH bow users: First Yoimiya, and now Lyney. there is still NO new sword or polearm pyro on-field DPS to challenge Hu Tao's spot.
Lorewise, she's a loveable character. You will appreciate her more if you played Baizhu story. Sadly for me I don't have her. I don't have much resource to level her up during her last re run.
imo one of the cooler parts of double hydro with zhongli is that it also makes sense lorewise. Like i could def see these characters fighting together in a team with the exception being yelan but i haven't really played any quests with her yet so idk.
I think it's funny how much you mention how straight-forward she is to play when the main reason I don't play her, despite her having been my first limited 5 star and having put so much investment in her build, is because I genuinely cannot figure out how to make her feel good to play, especially in terms of team building because I'm always missing one key character that makes the whole group work together. I've tried a lot of the popular teams but she just doesn't feel strong, even if I can see and KNOW she's getting good damage lol.
Despite her beigg powerful and overall one of the best dps, my only not pick is her C1's dependency when it should've been built in with her kit. Imagine if Itto's charge attacks consumed stamina too. Having it built with her kit and actually giving her useful constellations would've made her more valuable. Nonetheless, she's nearly perfect at C1, since I'm not going jump cancel with her.
@@diabolicesper6434either ZL or any shielder. the problem is though you will lose the res shred zhongli. if dehya was a better she could have been that support for hutao since she would gain pyro res and also a defensive unit that doesn't need zhongli.

Im not a min maxer, i play for fun, and just like her design, animation details, and style. Its good to know shes still viable and my favorite character isnt completely irrelevant at this point.
Been playing since 1.0, and the moment I got hu tao when she first appeared, she's been my favorite even after having a decent amount of built teams. Her voice actors in English and Japanese are also both amazing.
@@natachamartins9835 ? where did you get that info from? There hasn't been any leaks about hydro traveler that I've seen. Also, Hu Tao loves shielders wdym? She avoids healers like the plague because she needs low hp for maximum dps, and because she's constantly onfield with her charge atks, having a shield to prevent her from taking more dmg is crucial for fluid gameplay. That's why many people run her with Zhongli
Hu Tao has been one of my favorite characters in the game for a while! I actually initially joined Genshin during her first banner, but I dropped it shortly after. When I did pick it back up it was right after her second banner ended. As I got to know all of the characters better she was definitely my favorite though. On her most recent banner I got her at c0 plus staff of homa and triple crowned her on the same day! Still one of my favorite characters in the game due to personality and her sheer power!
I genuinely don’t understand what you mean by “Hu Tao is the only widely accessible “Big Dumb Damage” character who doesn’t use an unpopular weapon” when not only is she not considered, by your metrics, a “Big Dumb Damage” character (a Hypercarry) as she focuses on Vaporise reactions but her best team has half of the team damage coming from Xingqiu and Yelan
Yes. That's what a TEAM is for. The damage is split between Hu Tao and XQ with Yelan. There's literally nothing wrong with that. Hu Tao isn't a hyper carry like Xiao or Cyno. Her teams split the damage like a main dps would do. It's similar contribution as what you'd expect from most teams like Al Haitham and Yae paired together...they both contribute a great share of damage, and enable each other, like Yelan and XQ do for Hu tao. Like...the fuck is hard to understand about that? He means "Big dumb damage" as in access to doing a lot of damage for relative ease. Just use other elemental bursts, then swap to Hu Tao, click E, and go to pound town for big damage.
The thing is her character design is awesome and she is sweet. What more do you need xD? Oh yah that amazing demo as well. Personally I like her play style. Really like to charge attack with her and ofc explore with her in jp voice. Really enjoyable.
We need why everyone plays alhaithem i feel like he is so high in cn every patch since release also is probably the best main dps due to also supportive abilities

I've started playing Genshin Impact since January 2023 and Hu Tao is my favorite character in Genshin Impact, unfortunately I couldn't pull for her because I just didn't had enough for her and ever since then, I've been saving for her rerun, hopefully she gets one pretty soon.
Good luck!!! I started in January 2022, though I knew abt genshin way before then, so Zhongli & Hu Tao were my oshis long before I started. I luckily happened to start before Zhongli’s rerun, and managed to get him as my first 5* 💛 sadly the wait for hu tao was painful, but after over a year of waiting, I was finally able to bring her home in february ❤️ it may be a long time until her rerun, but I hope you can get her!!! She’s def worth it 🥰
I loved the point that you bought up. Hu Tao is a char who is mechanically challenging like animation canceling but not mechanically complex like Childe or Alhaitham and combined with her c1 ig she's everyone's comfiest character.
you don't even need to cancel most of the time since she does big damage either way. (assuming not mobile) if i want to really worry about dps, i just use dodge canceling. it's much easier.
One thing that you forgot to mention is that Hydro resonance was changed to provide a HP bonus. Since Hu Tao has HP scaling, unlike the other pyro DPS characters (We don't talk about Dehya), that means that she benefits the most from double Hydro.
imo she is also a lot of fun to olay as an f2p. every rerun she gets i gave her an upgrade to make her feel even better. though now that i have homa and c1 idk if i should go for c2 on her next rerun... but hey, i might just do it because why not
Beside c2 Ayaka and c2 Nahida my c1 Hutao is my only non standard banner 5 star I have constellations for. This shows much I value our girl Hutao! Also the day before this video was released I finally did the girls story quest!
Everyone always uses Hu Tao in vape teams, and usually with book-boy. It's really boring since she is stuck with hydro, usually him or Yelan, just to do the damage. Swirl is swirl, Melt kinda works but I rarely see anybody running it, and Overload is horrible for melee attackers. She deals crazy amt of dmg but only in one team comp.
I play hu tao c0r1 with no sheild, xinqiu has so much defensive utility that you can face tank and not die. Replacing Zhongli with xiangling is better. Ayaka wants 3 five star supports to be at her full potential she is the most expensive unit at the moment
Indeed having neither the C1 nor Zhongli, I find her unplayable despite the fact that I have Xingqui and Yelan who are also essential. She is my most regret pull in Genshin Impact.
If you're getting hit enough to need Zhongli despite Xingqiu's damage mitigation and heals, as well as Hu Tao's own heal on burst and generous i-frames on charge attack, the problem might not be with Hu Tao but the player.
Ive always been a huge hu tao fan, but after failing to get her 3 times now (not even because i didnt save, because i hit pity and lost 2 of those 3 times 💀), ive lost a lot of that love i had for her character. Not to mention the flack she gets for having an awkward charged attack cancel playstyle made her appear in a somewhat negative light to me and was a bit disheartening. But tbh, even though it wasnt your intention, youve sold me on her again. I think its just been too long since ive heard/seen someone POSITIVELY talk about her, and now i can see why she was (and even still is) so loved. I plan to keep on attempting until i get her, but at least all that time i spent not being able to get her has taught me to temper my expectations at the very least. If anything, im just pulling for her character cuz shes great
I will say one thing, C 1 Makes Hu Tao Easy, and more fun. Without it she is difficult to play (not as difficult as other early 5 stars, but nowadays I would say for certain she is a more difficult character rather than easy). A lot of more proficient gamers seem to forget that most of us aren’t that great at it all XD. Not even necessarily in jump cancels, could be rotations or keeping an eye on that low health too. (Like im way above average on the bow, but I don’t tell other mobile players charged shots are easy! ) Love Hu Tao (as a character. playstyle not my preferance), and there is a lot to why she is still a great dps and widely used.
I dunno, I believe she's kinda overrated. Her playstyle is uncomfortable, even tho she does good damage. Polearm charged atk is so clunky and hard to control and if you play c0 Hu Tao, damn, how did you not pull your hair out already? The stamina consumption is crazy. Also the best team for her needs 3 limited 5* characters (Hu Tao, Yelan and Zhongli)
Great video as usual, very entertaining. you missed the fact that one of the reasons hu Tao got so popular is because she doesn’t really need bennet, and for that reason a huge part of the tc community, including some huge Genshin CCs started praising her virtues. That and also the fact that her Japanese VA is Rie Takahashi, who has a huge hardcore fan base both in the east and in the west, are two of the reasons why she’s still considered one of the most well received characters ever in genshin.
My strongboxed hu tao with a level 8 burst does more damage than my painfully grinded raiden with crowned ult, its actually insane, without any buffs my hu taos vape burst damage is 230k + while with buffs she can easily do 500k ish...while the highest my raiden has ever done with buffs and all, is 178k...
This video is litteraly like... I will ignore every single character and their similarities because I have to promote Hu Tao. Other's are bad because they use reactions but Hu Tao is better than Noelle because she has Vape... Dude my brain hurts. 10:10 NO HENIE! THAT SHOULD BE IN HER BASE KIT!! 11:30 Dude, you have to construct a team EVERY TIME YOU ENTER ABBYS! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN 😭
Tbh C1 Tao is IMO one of the more predatory cons in the game, probably the closest we have to "hamstringing" a character at C0 to promote pulling an extra copy. It doesn't help that so much discourse on HT literally assumes C1 R1 which is literally 3x the pulls of another 5 star like Childe or Nahida.
One thing that seperates Hu Tao from most other dps is that she gains massive attack by simply using her E. Itto and Noelle are the only other characters that can gain such an attack buff without food or supports and Itto needs his burst and Noelle needs her burst and c6. My Hu Tao sits around 4k attack with her E active which is massive.
Prior to Dendro Bennett was universally valuable, meaning discourse surrounding Hu Tao teams generally steered away from using him. Nowadays, Bennett is generally freer which does allow Bennett-Tao to be a valid option for a lot more players. Without Homa, Bennett Tao is actually substantially stronger than Non-Bennett Tao. With Homa the gap shrinks although Bennett Tao can still be better.
@@paulyviiagain the person op is correct VV vape teams of Hu Tao were always more mechanically hard but they are on par with the other teams but you trade comfy ness for it
Double Hydro Hu Tao is by far one of the comfiest teams with high damage. Even in the current abyss it's a great pick for the second half of chamber 2 and 3 and can clear both of those in 60s seconds or less.
Best girl insane damage double hydro double pyro does top tier dmg best personality Also u just use E and u deal damage comparable to using a burst so it's very simplistic if u dont care if u wanna try hard her, the more skill you have the more damage she deals so there's that At the end of her E just use Q and u deal an extra 3-4 charged attacks plus heal if u dont use her yet u have her duck u ayt?
Things to keep in mind about Hu Tao: - Badly scuffed animation cancels can be a DPS loss compared to no cancels at all. If you aren't confident doing them, just don't; get comfortable practicing them first. - A full HP Hu Tao does more damage than a 0 HP Hu Tao.
Hu Tao was my first 5* when I started playing at around her first rerun, but initially I had trouble getting a hang of her playstyle of trading and keeping her HP low to do more damage, since I still couldn't quite shake the instinct of keeping my team's health up and I was also unsure how to build teams and artifacts for her, nor did I have a reliable shielder like Zhongli to protect her. It was much later as I better understood the game's mechanics that I grew to have some appreciation for Hu Tao, but for most of 2.0 and Inazuma I would use Eula (my beloved) instead to do the big dumb damage that she could slap out to carry me through most of the battles.
Calling Hu Tao a “comfy” character is wild to me. She literally wants to be on low HP, making her the exact *opposite* of comfy. Also… when are people going to stop calling Keqing a tsundere? 😓
zhongli + xingqiu give her a shield, damage reduction, and slight heals, and including yelan gives the whole team more hp because of hydro resonance, meaning stronger shields, more heals from xingqiu, and more hp for hu tao. she can also heal with her burst. i get why you say that but ive always found zhongli double hydro hu tao to be pretty comfy
Hu Tao was my top pyro dps, but then I pulled Yoimiya when trying for Kirara. So much easier to play and I don't feel any lack in output! Hu Tao will remain a higher tier waifu regardless.
Whenever I try to use Hu Tao, either during her story quest or as a trial character, she usually dies within 2 minutes. So yeah, I'd rather not use her if I can avoid it. I also find her personality to be insufferable. Energetic and cheerful girls are nice, but in-universe she's always annoying and upsetting everyone but shows 0 self reflection about it. So yeah, I certainly wouldn't play her even if I had her. I started playing around 3.0, so Ganyu was my first real DPS (and 2nd 5 star behind Mona, who I got in the same 10 pull).
As much as I want to play Hu Tao I just cannot do the cancelling to play her properly so I haven’t pulled her. I am also very much not a fan of HP drain mechanics. I’m trying to get used to it with kuki but I really do not like with Hu Tao you want to be low HP.
The Hydro Resonance change they made at the start of the version 3.0 series benefitted her immensely. Going from healing bonus +25% to max HP +25% synergized perfectly with her HP scaling and her Vaporize reactions. Double Hydro Hu Tao with Xingqiu and Yelan is her best team composition by far, especially with a shielder like Zhongli. She’s still one of my go-to Spiral Abyss units :) I also love her character design and personality, and both her English and Japanese voices. #RieriGang #BriannaGang
A very important factor is that her dps isnt based on ult, meaning no ER requirements. That just feels much smoother to play as you can do damage anytime than messing up energy and having to funnel it back up.
yeah you use hu tao burst in 3 situations heal yourself, dodge big dmg hit or hit vape bomb
That's a very good point. Sometimes I go entire fights without using her ult once lol.

She has a passive that gives 33% Pyro under 50% so yea. Bennet is really bad. Thats almost a Pyro Goblet.
even at full hp, she still does tons of damage
@@fzhs7030I am pretty sure her highest damage comp is double hydro.
My Hu Tao has only 26k healing due to me using em instead of hp%
@@fzhs7030 yes but it's only on "nuke" case, when you still have time on low hp before Bennet field heal you up, quickly do skill then burst. After she's on 70%+ hp then she's weaker. Benny c6 fix that tho
The < 50 % HP mechanic buff she receives makes her unique and viable even to this day. Some buffs you get to choose in spiral abyss requires lower HP and she fits perfectly. Thanks to the buff scaling her max HP, getting the right artifacts is easier too c:
Kinda no and and half ofd buffs require you to stay like above 50% or higher....

Hu tao is the only character I absolutely had to get. I still love using her and she has definitely maintained her power throughout the patches.
Embracing this unconventional setup for sheer enjoyment in overworld engagements, I fearlessly confront encounters head-on, marveling at her astonishing sustainability.

fallen off where? she still clearing
fallen off? more options for single target in the form of hyperbloom is not a hu tao nerf, it just makes her a less valuable pull, funerational is still one of the best teams for single target in the game iirc. Dude Hu tao has NOT fallen off.. This video kinda proves that
I got Hu Tao (and Childe) so late, from their last banners and with a c6 Xingqiu and c0 Yelan I just absolutely love her gameplay and her damage, even with dragon's bane she is a beast.
Yes.
As someone who had Hu Tao as first Limited 5 star character from her first banner, not to mention I got lucky getting her back to back that I've never had stamina problems with her, I couldn't agree more. Until now, still using her in spiral abyss.😊
and now she got xianyun and furina, she just keeps on winning unintentionally
she is the cutest DPS and her idle dance is the best, thats why she is played
But shes a wifu so its not a problem😂
She IS the strongest if played right
I don't play anymore but I was happy to get two funeral directors in one ten pull, I was the enjoyer of Hu Tao's QoL. but yeah, Yelan's release and 3.0's change in hydro resonance from heal increase to hp increase helped her a lot.
It also helps that Hydro residence benefits her and Zhongli so much.
No adepti powers, no formal battle training, probably one of the weakest characters from a lore standpoint, still arguably the most powerful damage dealer in the game + bomber personality. This is why she’s been my main since she came out.
Actually she has formal battle training. She literally shares the same fighting style as Xingqiu.
I'm honestly surprised you haven't done this yet - I could've sworn you had. Still, glad to see this! Should be an interesting one!
I play Hu Tao cuz shes the reason im in genshin. Saved up for over a year for her c1 and homa and never regretted not pulling for a year
Hu Tao Main here, she was my first limited 5 star that I got back in 2.2. I would love to C6 her one day
Its good that you mentioned personality.
“Catalyst is the worst weapon type”
Man, catalyst is the best weapon type. Access to infused normals and CA with no caveats can be incredibly valuable. There is a reason why Sucrose is more flexible than Kazuha in terms of teammates - she’s a catalyst, she can work on-field just as well as off-field.
I would say Claymore is the worst weapon type in the game for it clucking close ranger attack
I think it was at the time which was 1.3. Rn catalyst is easy number 2 after polearms and are very broken
(I'm saying this as a proud Scaramouche main and Yanfei enjoyer)
I think Vars made a mistake attributing clunkiness of a character (like Klee) to a weapon type.
And I can second the notion that claymore is the worst. It's. Slow. As fuck.
I personally have a ranking of
1. Bows you can literally make a whole team with this type and it'll be good
2 Swords are also very versatile and normally pretty fast and have good aoe
3 Catalyst having constant elemental application is amazing.
4 Polearms I personally find their movements a little weird to use as a main dps but I love using polearm supports
Hu Tao's EN voice is simply perfect
I've been getting a Hu Tao every time she has had a banner because I very much love the character. So I've spent a scary amount of time for each of her artifacts and even a staff of Homa. The fact that she's an incredible DPS throughout these 2.5 years since her release has made me extremely happy.
I saved up my primos for her in 3.4, and she’s such a fun character to play! Now I just need Yelan to complete the premiere team.

i couldnt get raiden shogun so i pulled for hu tao and got her.
I disagree on her being c1 dependant, but you do you. She's strong enough at c0 to handle any abyss.
you onlyy get like 1-3 extra CA , stamina management is easy bro , plus if u have zhongli u dont need to dodge
@@diabolicesper6434either ZL or any shielder. the problem is though you will lose the res shred zhongli. if dehya was a better she could have been that support for hutao since she would gain pyro res and also a defensive unit that doesn't need zhongli.

I'm so glad I started to play Genshin during latest HuTao and Yelan rerun, and got them both.

If anything, im just pulling for her character cuz shes great
Vars is that one guy who somehow says all the right things with the worst reasoning possible.
(Like im way above average on the bow, but I don’t tell other mobile players charged shots are easy! )
Love Hu Tao (as a character. playstyle not my preferance), and there is a lot to why she is still a great dps and widely used.

Bennett and hutao DOES work well together.. u can check ouit jstern who is a hutao main TC... her below 50% hp isnt huge compared to bennett's buff
Double Hydro + flex like Kazuha or Zhongli is a way better comp than slotting in Bennett
@@paulyviiagain the person op is correct VV vape teams of Hu Tao were always more mechanically hard but they are on par with the other teams but you trade comfy ness for it
@@thebrigade7684 im just replying to the statement in the video where it said that "benny and hutao dont work together well"
@@aerohydra3849 bruh i have c1 hutao + homa.. trust me... hutao XQ kazuha Benny performs way better... i think its even better than amber elegy
Double Hydro Hu Tao is by far one of the comfiest teams with high damage. Even in the current abyss it's a great pick for the second half of chamber 2 and 3 and can clear both of those in 60s seconds or less.
Hu Tao is so loveable, one of the best personalities in genshin
It's SIMPle, why people play Hu Tao, she's an amazing and flexible character after all!
and on top of that you have one of the most goated jp va Rie Takahashi
Best girl
insane damage
double hydro double pyro does top tier dmg
best personality
Also u just use E and u deal damage comparable to using a burst so it's very simplistic if u dont care
if u wanna try hard her, the more skill you have the more damage she deals so there's that
At the end of her E just use Q and u deal an extra 3-4 charged attacks plus heal
if u dont use her yet u have her
duck u ayt?
Things to keep in mind about Hu Tao:
- Badly scuffed animation cancels can be a DPS loss compared to no cancels at all.
It was much later as I better understood the game's mechanics that I grew to have some appreciation for Hu Tao, but for most of 2.0 and Inazuma I would use Eula (my beloved) instead to do the big dumb damage that she could slap out to carry me through most of the battles.
the title should be why nobody plays hu tao c0
being a hutao main and enjoyer since before she was release makes my chest puff with pride i love her so much
Calling Hu Tao a “comfy” character is wild to me. She literally wants to be on low HP, making her the exact *opposite* of comfy.
Also… when are people going to stop calling Keqing a tsundere? 😓
she has 15k+ hp at 50%. she's comfy after you get used to playing her
zhongli + xingqiu give her a shield, damage reduction, and slight heals, and including yelan gives the whole team more hp because of hydro resonance, meaning stronger shields, more heals from xingqiu, and more hp for hu tao. she can also heal with her burst. i get why you say that but ive always found zhongli double hydro hu tao to be pretty comfy
Imo it's the c1 that actually makes her more comfy. C0 Hu Tao is very frustrating to play because of charge atk cancel.
The reason I consider pulling for her in the future is it should make mobile play much more smooth. No longer needing to try and aim on Ganyu.
She’s still one of my go-to Spiral Abyss units :)
I also love her character design and personality, and both her English and Japanese voices. #RieriGang #BriannaGang
