  • @BlahGuyson
    @BlahGuyson 12 лет назад +2

    Also worth noting: a major source of inspiration for H&K in designing their short-stroke piston system for the G36 came from a similar one first developed for the Armalite AR-18 - developed by Eugene Stone, who also created the AR-15. Coincidentally, decades after the invention of both rifles, H&K developed an AR weapon (the HK416) whose action is derived from the G36. In the end, the solution to a major concern with Stoner's most popular weapon was found in yet another of his own weapons.

  • @olivialambert4124

    Just a correction, the G3 wasn't a Spanish design. It was a German design, but the design was licensed to CETME for production of the Spanish rifle before the Germans adopted the G3 rifle. So, German developed sold to Spain for use followed by Germany using it. One can see its a German design quite easily because it is almost identical to the German WW2 MG42 and STG45. This is because for some unknown reason Hitler hated the gas tap method used in a number of successful guns, both then and now, and demanded people not use it in their designs thus designers had to get creative with guns like the G41. Thus the roller delay mechanism is completely German and used almost exclusively by German engineers because it isn't particularly good in an era of an outstanding and mature gas tap mechanism.

      @@knoven- Yep, that's why the entire world has switched to it. Decimal values can be converted instantly and a standardized system can only help the world communicate. If it were not for the US and a couple of small islands, metric would be the universal measuring system...

    • @Albanez39
      @Albanez39 4 года назад

      @@Able542 Why do you say that? Fahrenheit is an inferior system just like Imperial units, and there's a reason why almost the entire world switched to Celsius.
      Celsius was created to have the same magnitude as Kelvin, the base SI unit of temperature that is used in all physical sciences. Just like metric, this allows for better and faster conversion and measurement. Unlike Fahrenheit which took the average human temperature as it's base 100 degrees (how egotistical is that? Similar to how humans believe Earth was the centre of the Universe, and than of the Solar System), Celsius uses the melting (0 degrees) and boiling (100 degrees) point of water to be defines...at least when it was created (they have been shifted slightly nowadays, using as base the triple point of water if I'm not mistaken). And as you know, water is the most common element a people have contact with on a day to day basis.
      Why do you think Fahrenheit is better? Because of smaller, "more precise" units? The only advantage of that would be in sciences, not in our daily lives...and science uses Kelvin and Celsius instead.

    The commentary and voice over on the older videos is still just as on point as it is in more recent ones. But I think what tickles me is seeing Xbox Ahoy in the gameplay. Like imagining the guy sitting here like "okay, need some G36C footage to talk over, better equip one and go school some people real quick." And credit where it's due, he does exactly that in the footage. A two front assault of sorts, good gameplay and great narration.

    When the Army conducted the "Extreme Dust Test III" in Nov 2007, the M4 was tested alongside the HK416, FN SCAR-L, and H&K's XM-8. They fired 60,000 rounds.
    XM-8: 127 jams, I jam every 472 rounds
    FN SCAR-L: 226 jams, 1 jam every 265 rounds
    HK416: 233 jams, 1 jam every 257 rounds
    M4: 882 jams, 1 jam every 68 rounds. And this while using heavy lubrication. The barrel had to be replaced 10 times, meaning a failure every 6,000 rounds. None of the H&K barrels needed replacing.
    That's why.

    Heckler & Koch is a german company. It was founded in a small town, named Suhl, Walther was also founded there. But after World War 2 they moved in the west sectors of Germany.

    The Hk416 is the new rifle for the USMC and will replace all M4/M16's that are being used by them now. Great video!

    The cyclic rate is a little off. When the G36C was designed the gas system had to be shortened due to constraints in the handguard size so it does actually have a higher rate of fire than the other G36s. Everything else was spot on, glad to see someone who knows how to say koch.

    @AutoJew He did the same thing in the MW2 and Black Ops weapon guides.... And besides, it's actually nice to hear about where the gun was originated etc.

    A Carbine rifle is a term that the gun platform is smaller and lighter, but makes loud noises, maybe a Bullpup in design which the RoF is a little bit more than the standard AR, just like the G36C and the G36 you can clearly see of a HUGE difference in the platform and the stats. If you want to know more just use Google to look it up this clearly for CQC and room clearing and great for PDW.

    Yes it was. It was planned to be in MW2 then was removed. It now resides in the DS version of MW2.

    i like how the USMC us the hk 416 as the m27 and it replaced the m4 and the m249 in field use as no marine wont be seen as a bigger target they all carry the same firearm to hid what firepower they realy have

    G36C is one the best and most reliable assault rifles ever produced by the world's premier gunsmaker Heckler and Koch. Which makes me wonder why the German Army wants to replace the G36C.

    @ asteroidrules Which is why they stopped making the mg36, the handguard kept melting from sustained fire (which is the whole point of an lmg) , apparently H&K didn't think of that problem when deciding to uses plastic/polymers

    Yes, in Treyarch's mindset of the future, the XM8 does become the M8A1, probably implying the U.S. adopted the rifle, effectively replacing the M4 platform.
    As far as soldiers liking the feel of the M4, that's probably just them not stepping out of their comfort zone. With a rifle that's been in service for almost 20 years, I'd also be reluctant to replace it. However, if the weapon is picked for replacement, it wouldn't matter what I thought about the ordeal.

    There are 3 bases of the body type for the G36 -
    C = Compact
    k= Kurz (short)
    and
    L= Lang (long)
    L is the basis for the LMG36 .
