Stuart, you did an amazing job covering my favorite weapon of all time, (the G36C). I've been looking forward to this episode for a long time now. I did have a quick question though, what is your favorite/least favorite map to play FFA on? Thanks.
Christ, coming from games like Squad and PR, the artificial sounds in these games are just unbearable now Theyre just one of those games that I love but cant stand to play again
I had a dream about you. But only because your videos are both interesting and informational and your voice is so distinctive. Keep up the good work, Stuart.
Also worth noting: a major source of inspiration for H&K in designing their short-stroke piston system for the G36 came from a similar one first developed for the Armalite AR-18 - developed by Eugene Stone, who also created the AR-15. Coincidentally, decades after the invention of both rifles, H&K developed an AR weapon (the HK416) whose action is derived from the G36. In the end, the solution to a major concern with Stoner's most popular weapon was found in yet another of his own weapons.
Just a correction, the G3 wasn't a Spanish design. It was a German design, but the design was licensed to CETME for production of the Spanish rifle before the Germans adopted the G3 rifle. So, German developed sold to Spain for use followed by Germany using it. One can see its a German design quite easily because it is almost identical to the German WW2 MG42 and STG45. This is because for some unknown reason Hitler hated the gas tap method used in a number of successful guns, both then and now, and demanded people not use it in their designs thus designers had to get creative with guns like the G41. Thus the roller delay mechanism is completely German and used almost exclusively by German engineers because it isn't particularly good in an era of an outstanding and mature gas tap mechanism.
@@knoven- Yep, that's why the entire world has switched to it. Decimal values can be converted instantly and a standardized system can only help the world communicate. If it were not for the US and a couple of small islands, metric would be the universal measuring system...
@@Able542 Why do you say that? Fahrenheit is an inferior system just like Imperial units, and there's a reason why almost the entire world switched to Celsius. Celsius was created to have the same magnitude as Kelvin, the base SI unit of temperature that is used in all physical sciences. Just like metric, this allows for better and faster conversion and measurement. Unlike Fahrenheit which took the average human temperature as it's base 100 degrees (how egotistical is that? Similar to how humans believe Earth was the centre of the Universe, and than of the Solar System), Celsius uses the melting (0 degrees) and boiling (100 degrees) point of water to be defines...at least when it was created (they have been shifted slightly nowadays, using as base the triple point of water if I'm not mistaken). And as you know, water is the most common element a people have contact with on a day to day basis. Why do you think Fahrenheit is better? Because of smaller, "more precise" units? The only advantage of that would be in sciences, not in our daily lives...and science uses Kelvin and Celsius instead.

Heckler & Koch is a german company. It was founded in a small town, named Suhl, Walther was also founded there. But after World War 2 they moved in the west sectors of Germany.
The cyclic rate is a little off. When the G36C was designed the gas system had to be shortened due to constraints in the handguard size so it does actually have a higher rate of fire than the other G36s. Everything else was spot on, glad to see someone who knows how to say koch.

Yes, in Treyarch's mindset of the future, the XM8 does become the M8A1, probably implying the U.S. adopted the rifle, effectively replacing the M4 platform.
