    UCLA team was loaded. They owned Texas in 97 and 98 but this game was starting to expose UCLA's defense and cost them the Miami game and a national championship. Love the fight Texas had in this game though. Did not give up like they did in 97.

      StylistecS I remember when Miami murdered the Bruins eddergen James rushed for over 300 yards

      Yeah UCLA's offense was top notch but the defense was swiss cheese

      Jonathan barnett it wasn’t “murder”. Final score was 49-45 I believe.
      There was some political controversy for the Bruin players. A Bruin OLB got hurt. Ayanbadejo and by this time the Bruins just had too many injuries piled up.
      Their D line consisted to 2 true frosh and 1 walk on for the Miami and Wisconsin games.
      The funny thing is that if Freddie Mitchell didn’t break his leg I still think even with the bad UCLA defense the Bruins still may have won the BCS title. Mitchell was that special.

      Not to mention that the fumble that cost UCLA the game wasn’t actually a fumble. But there was no review back then.
