I have been looking forward to filming Arksen for a long time, and they didn't disappoint. Not only are they building some amazing yachts, but they are also developing services that will allow owners to enjoy the vessels to the full. The founder Jasper Smith is quite inspirational, so do watch to the end of the video where there is a link to a live stream interview with him.

Are you familiar with the Dashew boats that were being built for a number of years? I believe the owners of retired now and stopped building. Their entire purpose was to build boats that surfed at all speeds. also boats that could be safely operated by the owners and enclosed areas in poor exterior conditions. Do you know how these boards compare to the Dashew? The design the look of the boats they look almost identical.

Jasper is my spirit animal. Besides Luke Hammond that is.. M/Y Bella captain and an awesome guy. Jasper should hire him. And Brennan Dates to design the galleys.
Esysman for the electronics and Jared Watney to do the crew quarters, Nautistyles and Nick to review it. The lottery really needs to come my way. They have the same sort of contrived not-at-all-genuine-edginess as rap music and anything to do with the Kardashians.

As others have said, it really looks to be based on Steve and Linda Dashew's FPB design. It even has similar flopper stoppers, although, as noted by others, the stern is slightly different. I suspect it'll blend aesthetics with functionality a little more so it appeals to a wider audience than the FPB's did, not that they weren't successful in their own right, nor were they utilitarian on the inside, quite the opposite in reality ! It's said that "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" I wish them well.

I live in Southampton, so know that building very well. Only 5 miles via Red Funnel. David if you still in the area. You most welcome for a cuppa. Love to meet you oneday. This company reminds me so much of Bering yachts. Innovative, Safety to the hilt e.g 12mm Hull instead of 6mm. Lloyd's registered vessels are the pinnacle in design. As much as I get companies, that are using other nationalities for flag registration etc. I think any company that uses Lloyd's is a company you can trust. I love Bering, and looking forward to Nautistyles 'Rico and Victoria's' B75 being built. Seeing how all their dream list will be incorporated into Alexias amazing product. Now I'm saying this about Bering, cause I can image Arksen having exactly the same capabilities. As I live locally. I would love a tour when the 85 is complete. Being a 50yr old disabled British Army Veteran, battling multiple degenerative physicsl and mental health battles. It might take time to overcome my extra on top health issues before I could travel. So it might still only be a dream to visit.
I have worked in many jobs (Jack of many master of none lol). During my time at Aerostructures in Hamble I started as storekeeper, then sheet turner/conductivity tester. Then semi skilled de-burrer. Then semi skilled heat will specialist (unfortunately I was about to start my 4th Yr in the dept and was on the internal semi skilled to skilled training). I was experienced on all heat treatments (Solutionising, Precip, Natural Ageing, Hardness and Conductivity, Tri acid etching, and other roles like death greaser machine). So know how strong and diverse Aluminium can be. I think it will be an amazing yacht. Part of an amazing concept.

It is good to see that a British Yacht Designers and British Ship Yard, is leading the way in New Aluminium tough long range hybrid economy environment friendly Explorer Yachts too, we like these yachts.
Also the idea over a large boat deck area too, for a tender and it seems small 2 or 3 person submersible too, or ROV's and UAV's too
Could this boat deck area, be large enough for either the like of 7/9m Sealeg Amphibious Craft, or an 8/10m Aluminium landing craft with folding up wheels like the Sealeg boats?
Are these Arksen yachts, fitted with state of the art underwater sensors and cameras, or could they be?
Either forward and down looking passive active sonar and underwater cameras, or side wards looking passive sonar or all round 360 degree underwater cameras.
Even a mini towed side and bottom scan sonar array and underwater camera system too, as there yachts are Explorer yachts after all?

Looks like a great concept for the coast guard, great for rescuing people & plenty of space to store rescued animals including large farm animals. Something with more capacity than a RHIB while being able to go places where a 400 foot cutter can't go.
For instance what if you come across a horse, a bear, or some deer that was washed into the sea? You wouldn't want to try to get a bear into a helicopter, you could lower a tanning platform, let the tired out bear climb onto it and rest, and while it was laying down exhausted a veterinarian can tranquilize it so it could be moved to a cage & transferred to a wild life rescue center. You could have a bear, a bunch of dogs & cats, and a large number of people transported in one trip, try doing that with a helicopter or RHIB.

It would come down to cost I suppose, but the Arksen is a more sophisticated concept with lower operating costs. The Bering might hold up better in the long term, but that is as yet to be verified. Were I in the market I'd go Arksen. The thing is we might be comparing a 3 million boat to 6 or 8 million. How much does an Arksen cost? The FPB's this is based on weren't cheap.

When I look at the derivative style of these things, I'm reminded of a guy who drives up to the front of a nice hotel in his purple Lamborghini. He disembarks and helps his Kardashian clone bimbo girlfriend wrestle her glitter-clad, polymer-filler laden self out of the car. Just then an older guy pulls up in a nicely restored old Jag saloon, escorted by his nicely preserved 60 something lady, wearing a 20 year old cashmere sweater with a tiny moth hole in one sleeve. The guy in the Lamborghini suddenly feels vaguely inadequate, but he isn't quite sure why. This is his boat.

Since the owner isn’t interested in making money I’ll take one of the 85 foot vessels for $1 million. I think that’s pretty fair

Between Arksen, Bearing, and Vision yachts i believe there's the possibility of designing, building an amazing (all aluminum) solar/hydrogen explorer catamaran. Go anywhere, through any sea state, safely

I hope it's not an easy credit rip off scam cuz if when you say more people could afford it sounds like they're going to just make easy credit the first late payment they come and repo it

There are some great tech features, but this particular ship design in and of itself will never become a full marketable product. It differs way too far from the tank type builds that most want for long range travel. You have features worth marketing into other builds but that's all. Best wishes to all

It is a pity that the French translation is not available, you lose a lot of information and your linguistic elegance is damaged.

I don't like the shape, for me, doesn't matter how nice the inside is, if I dont like the exterior look i wouldn't buy it, same with cars.
