might i suggest, careful with the last exercise. if you dont have a good supported table, it will just flip and hurt the subject.. been there and will never forget.
Good info. and exercises. I can vouch for the strength exercises helping to ease the pain and increase/help mobility with the bad hip(s). I started a strength building program about 10 months ago and have seen a significant reduction in pain and better mobility. So much so, the hip replacement surgery I was scheduled for this month, I've cancelled and put off for at least 6 more months. I'm 61 and have gone from mild to severe osteo arthritis over the last 10 yrs.
Hi, I'm new to all this. 2 weeks ago, I was walking up stairs and there was a grind/grab/awkward sensation at the front of my hip. It slowly progressed to burning stiffness upon standing and almost unbearable nerve irritation/pain sensation when sitting. This is when I turned to watching videos on YT while awaiting an xray. I started doing some of the recommended stretches but it has made things 10 times worse. I now cannot drive my car or sit at all without feeling agonising burning/irritation which only decreases after I lay down for hours. I realise now that I may have overdone the stretching/strengthening exercises in the first week post injury but there was no great fall/accident to indicate crippling injury was on its way. Xray says I have hip degeneration/narrowing and likely OA. When you google acute hip injury or how to treat bone on bone acute hip injury/flare etc. no one is talking about an acute situation on YT. It appears to be just long-term suffering and potential solutions/treatment plans. I would imagine I'm not the only one out there who is in this window (just injured in last few weeks etc.) of injury with subsequent imaging indicating arthritic changes, so could you please provide some assistance as to how best to treat an acute injury like mine. Also, when and how to know when it is time to transition into an arthritis/FAI treatment program? Treatment summary: Mistake No.1 - Stretching/ROM exercises Mistake No.2 - Warm epsom salt baths (felt so good initially and I could do full ROM afterwards but then a world of pain and stiffness. Mistake No.3 - Driving/sitting in spite of increasing pain/irritation (this was a HUGE mistake!) Massaging - short term relief. NSAI's and lying around in bed all day - So far this is the only thing that is keeping me sane.
I have been experiencing hip/knee/ankle pain for a couple of months and decided to see a chiropractor/PT for treatment. She has started me out with resistant band exercises that work on my adductors along with squats and single leg deadlifts. I was watching your video and noticed you add the inner thigh muscles in as well. I did try some of those and they were somewhat painful. I tried the one where you are on the table and do leg extensions and that one seemed to help relieve some tension in the hip. I am 63 yrs old and I did fall on my sit bones back in October 2021 and a couple of months ago I started noticing hip/buttock pain and then it spread to my knee and ankle. I did get a hip xray and showed osteoarthritis but no fracture or disclocation. It feels like my body is out of alignment on my left side and I have had my feet scanned and did get a pair of Brooks shoes and I have some inserts being made so hopefully all this will get me back where I was.

I did try the table exercise with the leg extension. That one really helped relieve some tension around my hip/buttock area. I fell on my buttock back in October 2021 and I think I am now having a problem with my back/hip/knee/ankle on that same side. It may be coincident but I am 63 yrs old and I do have an unstable pelvis and so I think it may be my body structure. I did get a scan of my feet and have a chiropractor/PT treating me. We don't do the exercises for the inner thigh area and wondered if I should mention that to her. I have noticed my inner thigh does seem to get painful when I abduct. I did have a pelvis xray and it showed osteoarthritis but no fracture or dislocation. I am trying to take all the steps I can to get better. I think my feet may have something to do with all of this and have purchased a pair of Brooks and I also have a pair of inserts being made. I am not sure why my chiropractor did not scan my feet the first time I saw her. I had to ask about getting it done a couple of visits later.

I am wondering how long this will take to get better as I have been active all my life and now at 63 yrs old I feel like my body is trying to fall apart. Thanks for a very informative video.

As long as the patient is safe and used to sitting on one, I don't see a problem. It even supports the movement and can help in patients with lower motor control.
You have my Maximum respect Dr igho, and I will never forget the day I come across your channel on youtube, you are my hero thank you for helping me with your herbal medication that cured me naturally, God bless you.

Will the exercises actually increase the lubricating tissue in the joints? Is this possible?
@@JayDouglas01 Good question, not sure. Just happy my hip is doing better.
Fantastic resource, thank you!
Thank you so much for these helpful example exercises.
Great video! Very informative. Thanks for sharing!
I'm in PT now for hip pain. Some of the exercises in the video will be a nice addition to my routine. Thank you.
But some are dangerous!!!
I can attest that this also works for people with FAI and any hip pain
This was great thank you!
Great video. Danke!

You need to avoid certain things in your diet that cause inflammation
Driving would aggrevate the pain. I hope you get better.
IK I can’t do every exercise, so I do what I can in moderation. All the best…
Thanks🌹
You're welcome 😊
So very helpful - the music I hear accompanying you tube not soothing
I made the music stop.
Thank you! What's the repetition range and set range for these exercises, and how many times/ week should they be done?
I'd like to also know.
@@loriweitzel He said min.12 weeks for rehab. But better for life. Otherwise the “adventure" repeats.

Great👌
Is it recommended to do half squats with hip arthritis? Can it harm you more?
Just don’t do any real squats, half squats are OK, they help muscles to grow. And blood to circulate around your body.
i have a hard time believing that any exercise is going to regrow eroded cartilage in my hip joints. I want to see before and after x-rays.
Increased flexibility and mobility is a start as well as decreased pain. All the best.
Can you also do the first exercise on a stability ball?
As long as the patient is safe and used to sitting on one, I don't see a problem. It even supports the movement and can help in patients with lower motor control.
The idea is hip hinging with a neutral spine,i wouldnt intro instability until you can do that reliably, its not a strength or balance exercise.
The music was sooo loud. No verbal instruction can be heard. Just him doing the exercises with some subtitles. What a shame!
👏👏
