Thanks Oliver. I had to replace these two heater hoses today. One of them had leaked and I was experiencing higher than normal engine temperatures. I replaced both as preventative maintenance. One tip I would recommend is to twist the bottom hose plastic with a strong hand grip from the sides and pull upwards. Avoid applying force from the bottom as there is a metal lip attached to the engine and you may bend it or worse break the metal attached to the engine.

Thank you for making and sharing this video Oliver. I`m in the process of changing the thermostat on my VE omega and was thinking about those hoses. Now I know about the clips thanks to you when the time comes i`m sure changing the hoses will be easier now. Thanks again, much appreciated mate.

Thanks, Oliver. I’m just about to tackle this very same job on a VZ SV6. The heater tap just perished after 18 years. I’m changing out the hoses too and change the coolant as it is due again. Thanks once more for your video, expertise and tips.

@@oliverthemechanic8532 Did my heater hoses and heater tap today and all went well. Handy tip for anyone doing this job, the original hose clamps which I reused are hard to open using needle nose pliers, despite that it can still be done. My advice is to invest in a proper spring clip tool to make that task easier. The other is a small hook / pick tool to assist in removing aged hoses from the heater core inlet / outlet pipes.

Do you have to drain your fluid first ??

    • @oliverthemechanic8532

In that scenario mate I don’t drain it because customer a little bit short of money so i just top up the coolant when im done 😉
