Got mine and love it, I've read all the above comments and some are just bull, mine screwed into the SMS case and came out easily enough {no gym membership needed!} it was / is also unmarked after lots of insertions and it does fit in EVERY trouser, shorts or jacket pocket I've tried so far! It offers really good protection and is easy to use, I particularly like the screen protection, memory card and USB slots, a really well thought out design, use the clip on my shorts or trousers and have used it on a top jacket pocket, I have also added a tether to one of the small openings on the bottom of the SMS case as I like a bit of security when I'm carrying it {I add tethers to ALL my action cams, Insta360 or GoPro's} Buy with confidence and enjoy your purchase👍😉😎
I would have liked a smaller version just to be able to clip the mic2 onto this. I got the OP3 to avoid having to bring my bulky RSC2 + Sony alpha with me and this unit beats that purpose.
By the way, I actually purchased it and the size is ok. The pocket 3 doesn’t fit into a pocket anyway, so it becoming bigger isn’t a huge issue. It is still a lot easier than a full frame camera and separate gimbal. It would have been even better if the top lid could be attached to the handle and filters would be easier in reach (e.g stick them on the handle instead of inside the lid)
Well I’m gonna give you a positive comment. I have all 3 versions of this case. And have been using ScottyMakesStuff cases on my OSMO Pockets 1,2 and now 3 for years now. The thing I like about this is it fully contains and protects the unit better than the case that comes from DJI and gives you a cold shoe for lighting and alternate 1/4x20 mounts. It also feels better to grip. I think DJI has always made the OSMO pockets for people with small hands. The 3 is the worst, and they know it. That clip on 1 inch extension with the 1/4 x20 seems like an after thought because without it the buttons are in the bottom of your palm. You need to use your other hand just to start and stop capture. So having the SMS case helps your grip and overall shooting by giving you something you can wrap your hand around.
Thanks for the comment. One of the things I enjoy most about this case is the adaptability. I have the small rig cases on my Action 4 and GoPro Hero Black. With those cases and the adapters I can mount those to this case along with lights and mic for on the go, multiple angle shoots. I can see where it’s no for everyone, especially the casual city vlogger. However most of my shoots are outdoors, in the wood or hiking trails. This gives me the extra layer of protection on an otherwise delicate camera.
I bought one. It extremely hard to get the pocket 3 far enough into the case for the thread in the bottom to engage. And, even worse, it is almost impossible to get it back out of the case. They also make a roll-bar-umbrella attachment. The problem with it is that it encroaches in the field of view in the top of the frame. I have emailed them about this over a week ago with no answer. If you have problems, you are on your own.
No. 😂😂😂😂😂 but it does have the clip so you can clip it to outside of your pocket or backpacks. But seriously, this thing is an amazing accessory if you are using the DJI Osmo 3.
Please warn your viewers that if you purchase this case, it DOES NOT come with a male-to-male 1/4-20 which is needed to attach your phone or other accessories. Since every tripod comes with a male connector, it is very shocking that this $1 part is not included when you buy this case! It only features female connections. Terrible oversight!
@@DerekShenk it has a Female 1/4-20 on the bottom. I have mine mounted to a tripod right now. The blue knob that secures it into the case. The middle thread 1-4-20 female
@@AGPfacecast Yeah, lots of female connections. No male connections. Every accessory I have uses the standard tripod male connector. A lack of even one male connector on this Pocket 3 case really messed up my project, so wanting to warn others.

There is this very cool thing called insurance. DJI offers it, as does my insurance company. A no brainer.
