Billy Corgan performed an acoustic set on 30 Sept 2010 in a book store (atoutlivre) in Paris as part of the book signing for "Chants Magnetiques" a book he co-wrote with french author Claire Fercak.
Although i agree with you that Billy is amazing song writer and he was the corner stone, i disagree that james and D'arcy can be so easily dismissed. There was magic in that trio.
I love them all but Zeitgeist may be my favourite for various reasons. Mellon Collie may be the pinnacle. I adore Adore. This song here is off the scale.
I always thought that the brilliance, and most frustrating part of, Billy was that no two albums were alike. The biggest knock on Adore, was that it didn't sound like exactly like everything else they had done. "Even worse", to them, anyway, he refused to follow what everyone else was doing.
why would an artist want to do the same thing over and over again? i loved adore and everything else billy has done. i think he is just way ahead of the curve, maybe you will see that one day.
adore was a masterpiece i would fall asleep to it every night with my old sony black headphones back in elementary school

Adore was the SP album with the most replay value. . Every play would reveal new depths to those songs.

Adore is my favourite album ever, but I think their break up album was Machina :)
