If you haven’t yet seen the movie Stronger, I strongly suggest that you do. It’s about Jeff Bauman, the man who lost both of his legs due to the bombing, and helped identify a bomber. His story is truly incredible and inspiring. Jake Gyllenhaal portrays him, and it’s a heartbreaking film, but so powerful.
Perfect Strangers is a great book too. Very graphic and a brutal account of what happened. I want to never put it down, but I have to so I can pull myself together during it.
I was there. And it was the scariest thing I'd ever experienced. I wasn't hurt much, I fell and had a few scratches. Police and other brave people were shoving us into a hotel. The worst part is that I was with my friends that day, and we were going to bike ride around my city, but we decided to go to Boston and watch the marathon. I didn't tell my mom we were going. If I wasn't ok, she wouldn't have even known I was there.

It is amazing how the slightest thing can save you life. A few years ago here in London, there was the 7/7 bombings. My mother was booked to board the EXACT train that blew up, but she couldn't board because her alarm didn't go off in the morning, and she missed it. It's amazing how things like this can happen.

I remember this so vividly still. I was a freshman in high school. I was at my friends house playing games when his sister came up and told us to turn on the TV. Of course we didn't want to, but we eventually did, and we stood there and stared in horror and amazement. I remember in history class the following Monday my teacher going on a profanity laced rant, which was highly unusual, saying that we would find whoever is responsible and bring them to justice. I remember the news when they caught him in Charleston. It was a huge relief. It's the closest to home many of us younger individuals have felt terrorism. One of the kids in a program that lived in Boston and went to my school thought the bombs were firecrackers in the distance.
Today is the 15th of April 2020, Its been 7 years I'm so sorry to anyone affected by this event and just wanna let you know that even though the world may seem cruel, there is always a positive side to everything.
I remember that day like it was yesterday, I was a couple of months away from turning 11 years old. Me and my sister were in Middle School at the time and we were both in class, when our teacher got a phone call from the principal. At that second her face went pale and she dismissed us from class. We went home and we watched the aftermath of that truly horrific afternoon as soon as we got back home. My prayers go out to those who lost loved ones and those who were severely injured. God Bless Us.🙏🙏
When I was really young, my parents were going to bring my brother and I to the marathon. Since we had to get groceries though, my parents decided that my brother and I should all stay home. How lucky.
The Boston Marathon Bombings occurred when I was seven. I remember everything from that day, even all these years later. That day, I learned my most important lesson, one that would impact my life greater than I had ever imagined. I learned the true abilities of the human psyche, both of how awful it can be and how amazing they it be. I learned about violence, hate, and terrorism but also love, community, and strength. And while I didn't know it then, this pushed me torwards a career in medicine and torwards the hospital and city I grew to love as a pediatric cancer survivor. Without the events of that day, I don't know what I would be like today or if I would have as much thrust as I do now, fighting everyday; until every child is well. #bostonstrong
Rest in paradise to the lives lost💔 innocent and gone to an evil act. MAD respect to the police for finding the bombers. Thousands of people, countless hours of footage... yet they found them. Mad mad MAD respect🙌🏼
Does anyone know who made these bombs? During the trial, experts called by the prosecution said that it was not known who made the bombs. That was left as a conclusion about the manufacture of these explosives. In other words, the conclusion was: It is not knownr
@@usuario-dc8bb FYI two bomb specialists testified in the trial, one of them was the bomb specialist summoned by the Prosecutor's Office, he said that Tamerlan and Dzhokhar couldn't make the bombs and also said that it wasn't known where the bombs were made. The other was the FBI bomb specialist who explained to the jury in detail how pressure cooker bombs work, but when the defense finally asked him directly if Tamerlan and Dzhokhar made them, he replied that he couldn't say that and he couldn't say either.where the bombs were made. And about some items found in Tamerlan's apartment, which the FBI says were part of the bombs, the FBI latent fingerprint examiner said that the fingerprints found were Tamerlan's, not Dzhokhar's.
Confirmed bomb squad drill using amputee crisis actors. The city's own newspaper even acknowledged on twitter that it was a drill. A hospital spokesman even confirmed it in a live t.v. report................Just another Homeland Security scam.
One interesting historical fact: After 1935, Germany had clear laws forbidding religious fanaticism. Fringe religious groups were rounded up, and placed in "protective custody" in special camps, created for the purpose. Religious extremism was considered to be a threat to the nation.
This happened my senior year in high school. I was in my Criminal Justice class. We were all shocked as well as my teacher, we all had our eyes glued to the TV in silence watching the coverage. Reminiscent to when I was in first grade and 9/11 happened; we all stared at the tv in disbelief but our teacher was beyond speechless. And in sixth grade when Virginia Tech happened. We were all kids then, but we all knew it was really bad. Bless those who have lost their lives in terror attacks. And bless the teachers who keep students calm and safe, and explain things in ways that we can all understand.
This was so scary. I was visiting Boston with a couple friends that day, not realizing the marathon was happening. We walked down Boylston behind the onlookers but realized it was so crowded near the finish line that we needed to cut over to Commonwealth. A few minutes later, we heard what we thought were celebratory cannons until we heard screaming and people started running passed us. Everything shut down. The T was closed, businesses locked their doors, and we kept hearing about other devices found in trash cans around the city. It was lockdown but handled very well by the city officials.
I was on my way home from school when it happened. I remember walking through the door and seeing my sister crying while she was looking at the TV. She got home before me and was watching the news of the bombing. I was only 12 so I didn't have much of a reaction, mostly just confusion. My sister remembers seeing the twin towers fall on tv on 9/11, she was only 3 and I was only a baby so we didn't understand what was going on, but this time we were both a lot older and we understood what the attack was this time Very bizarre experience, and something I'll never forget
i was 5 when it happened and i was in my house a couple blocks away from the marathon finish line. i didn't understand what was happening either but i'll never forget it
Rip to the victims that died. Martin Richard (killed by the second bomb) Lingzi lu (killed by the second bomb) Krystle Campbell (killed by the first bomb) Sean Collier (shot and killed by tamerlan tsarnaev) Dennis Simmonds (died from injuries from a pipe bomb thrown by dzhokhar tsarnaev)
I just watched a bunch of 9/11 videos and now I’m watching this 😢 I can’t imagine the horror of fleeing where the bomb went off, only for another one to go off.
Tamarlan got his organs rearranged when his little brother ran him over. Now his little brother is getting his organs rearranged by his fellow inmates in prison. Hope both of them burn in hell.
I remember arguing with a dude who said that the bomb was fake because one dude who had his legs blown off was escorted out of the area via wheelchair and not a stretcher. I told him, "Well, they were expecting leg injuries at the marathon, thus the wheelchairs. Plus, wouldn't you think it was a weird coincidence if they did have stretchers at a marathon?" He replied, "Oh, well, they wrapped the worst looking tourniquet I've ever seen in my life! It's sooo fake!" And I replied, "The tourniquet was fashioned from a bandana, made in seconds. Last time I checked, makeshift tourniquets aren't known for being professionally made." And this set him off. He'd link me video after video of "proof" it was fake but it was the worst excuses for "evidence" I had ever seen. To this day, I still think any conspiracy theorist who believes it was fake is a huuuuge fucking idiot. Because if they're anything like that guy who I argued with(which, let's be honest here, is a lot of them) than they have no ability to discern actual evidence from mere speculation and conjecture.
i walked along those flags like.. one maybe two minute before the explosion. i was a few buildings down browsing a clothing store, EVERYTHING shook. people running and screaming everywhere. was like a movie, seemed liked in a minute they had all of the roads cleared and closed down, blacked out SUVs DRIFTING the city block turns in tandem to the scene... all the bridges closed down, cellphones closed down. teenager in highschool up from pennsylvania. one of the craziest things ever
I'll never forget where I was. I was 10 when it happened but I was at my grandmother's and all of a sudden it came on the news and everyone just went silent. It was so erie and sad. RIP to the victims that died from these horrible domestic terrorist attacks.
Can we just permanently ban conspiracy theorists' accounts on RUclips? EDIT: Went I stated this I was talking about from the comments section, not actual videos themselves.
You know what fucks me up to?? Marathons take *MONTHS* of hard, grueling training. Marathons are supposed to be a reward for all your hard work! Imagine you spend like a year and you’re so excited to train for your first ever marathon and bam your leg is gone and you can never run again. Like all that training for nothing
Right now, this entire country needs the strength and unity Boston showed during the aftermath of this horrible event. I've never even been to Boston, but a sense of pride surged through me during all this.
R.I.P Martin Richard (killed by the second bomb) Krystle Campbell (killed by the first bomb) Lingzi Lu (killed by the second bomb) Sean collier (shot to death by Tamerlan Tsarnaev) Dennis Simmonds (died from head injuries after Dzhokhar Tsarnaev threw a pipe bomb at him during the Watertown shootout) I feel very sorry for those 5 families of those victims that they lost their loved ones. I'm very annoyed and upset that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev killed Martin Richard, Lingzi lu, and Dennis Simmonds. while his older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev killed Krystle Campbell and Sean collier.
Broke me. I was in Boston in December 2012 from Australia and they were setting up for the marathon. 2 weeks after going home this happened. Makes me sick to this day.
I remember this. I was in 4th grade... I was reading a book in a school in East Boston, I was confused. I was 9-10 years old... me and my family were so close to that attack that it still scares me to this day in high school.

I remember being in History class in High school when we got word of this...The teacher stopped what he was doing and told us about it
When I was really young, my parents were going to bring my brother and I to the marathon. Since we had to get groceries though, my parents decided that my brother and I should all stay home. How lucky.
The people who thought this was funny are the ones who deserved to be the victims.
R.I.P. to the victims. Never forget 🙏

The only victim was us.
It's easy to make bombs. There on RUclips. Pressure cookers. But they ban Tate smh

I was in 7th grade when this happened. A truly horrific event. My family and I saw the news live when thy found him in the boat.
This is so evil. why would someone do this?
I was on my way home from school when it happened. I remember walking through the door and seeing my sister crying while she was looking at the TV. She got home before me and was watching the news of the bombing. I was only 12 so I didn't have much of a reaction, mostly just confusion. My sister remembers seeing the twin towers fall on tv on 9/11, she was only 3 and I was only a baby so we didn't understand what was going on, but this time we were both a lot older and we understood what the attack was this time
Very bizarre experience, and something I'll never forget
i was 5 when it happened and i was in my house a couple blocks away from the marathon finish line. i didn't understand what was happening either but i'll never forget it
I remember coming home from fourth grade to this. I had no idea what was going on, but now I do and let me tell you, it’s scary.
No you still don't. This event was a hoax.

@spawnerist ok
@spawnerist you people are fucking weird 💀
Those poor poor flags...
I remember arguing with a dude who said that the bomb was fake because one dude who had his legs blown off was escorted out of the area via wheelchair and not a stretcher.
I told him, "Well, they were expecting leg injuries at the marathon, thus the wheelchairs. Plus, wouldn't you think it was a weird coincidence if they did have stretchers at a marathon?"
He replied, "Oh, well, they wrapped the worst looking tourniquet I've ever seen in my life! It's sooo fake!"
And I replied, "The tourniquet was fashioned from a bandana, made in seconds. Last time I checked, makeshift tourniquets aren't known for being professionally made."
And this set him off.
