With the permission of Amos and Eban Roach as detailed in an SBS article I have been slowly making my way through my collection of this great man's music. As a white Australian Archie Roach's music made me aware of indigenous culture in a way that the formal education I received in the 70's, 80's and university in the 90's never did. It built a desire to learn and understand and even sent me to the Kimberley to work and live alongside a people I would never have had the opportunity to learn from. On the 30th July 2022 Australia has lost an important, even integral, part of itself. Vale to a great elder and educator. Your presence will be sorely missed. "Remember well what we have told you Oh don’t forget where we come from Mother Earth will always hold you And we are born of just one song"
Sunday afternoon. Sitting outside in the sun... birds are chirping and a slight NE breeze. Barefoot on my earthly home. Ear phones in my ears and listening to this beautiful song Uncle Archie 🙏🏽❤ tears streaming down my face and my heart in my throat. Without my Mother Earth I would have no home. I am a lost one from stolen generation past but I do have some family grateful for but wish they wouldn'thide the Truth.. This is just a story, for my real story is now 🙏🏽
Archie you are an inspiration to many. If you can learn to be so caring and well meaning from the card’s you’ve been dealt in your life, than why can’t the rest of the world! Thank you for being you! A true National Treasure.
Cheers to you Archie and thanks so much for your insightful thoughts and music. I know it all comes from deep within your own heart. Blessings to you and your family Archie. Lizzy from Aus. 🧡🦘😊👍
So nice to see you perform at St Kilda Festival last weekend and again last night at Sidney Myer music bowl with the MSO. No doubt Ruby is proud of you. Your music moved me. You’re an icon and legend. Stay strong and keep doing what you love. ❤️
It was so good listening to you talk tonight on Yarning Strong, Archie. Came here to listen to your divine and healing music and now I feel so grounded again, thank you! Sending all my best wishes for good health, joy and love to you always!!
Well done Archie Roach well done Sir, you are now Free to Pick the Fruit from the Tree of Life in God's beautiful garden, You are Free from All you have suffered, God bless you and thank you for your unbelievable Music. Bakali Wunnamurra.
I just had to come & listen, sending Love up to The Dreaming, You Are Missed...As one who is on oxygen too, i sing this song along withya, you give me courage. I'll keep coming & then i'll seeya when I am looking atya. 🟡🔴⚫🙏
It’s such a shame that the CC word accompaniment is wrong. We sing mother, we sing father, we sing son and other.!!!!!!! No son and daughter. I’m too tired to fix this now. There are more errors. I’ll fix them in the morning. Really people it’s like misquoting the bible. Uncle Archie deserves better. The song is called One. Not One Song.
@@ArchieRoachMusic I got it wrong. Please keep correcting me. Am I allowed to ask and Aboriginal man if I can call him Uncle? Even if he died some time ago. Please know my question is a question from the heart. ❤️👍
@@ArchieRoachMusic I’m starting to understand. I see why stories were told and not always written down. I like the changing words. It’s a good idea. I see that now. It all seems right.
I love Archie Roach, he's from with in
