My most challenging planet Saturn ...... also the biggest Guru. It taught me that restriction is necessary to experience regardless of how painful ..... I learned to glean wisdom and benefit from the restrictions imposed and Saturn taught me that when you master being comfortable with restrictions you can then reap the benefits of expansion. My perception about saturn giving bad results is, maybe because saturn is inmical to the ascendent.
When its inmical, the more powerful it gets, the more malefic effects to be expected.
And this could be one possible reason.

Saturn is actually liberation from karmas. It gives one absolute clarity and awareness of the truths. Karma is caused due to ignorance. If one feels like Saturn is punishing them, it’s actually because they choose to not want to see the truth and actually you should thank Saturn for still punishing you because it wants to help you to see the truth.
Most people are suffering because they prefer the illusion, choosing to perpetuate unhealthy behaviours that would cause them into more suffering. To them those are the real comfort. and so they wouldn’t even be willing to step into the real truth to break free from the illusion that they are in. Saturn is actually kind to be the “bad” “guy” to force one to face the truth. Because that is the only way forward. Pain is necessary for change. Saturn is also kind to be patient to allow the change (over a long time and delays) but people choose to still blame it. It has to be firm because ultimately change is what needs to happen.
So ultimately, Saturn is helping you but it gets the bad reputation for doing so. These are life themes of Saturn natives. Saturn probably is the most compassionate with how it acts if one truly is aware of the truths. It is firm and maybe harsh not because it wants to punish but because it is the only way for true change to occur.

I have a Philosophical question. What if we did not know about this earlier and came to know after spending some time away from Saturn's demands...does the individual get unfavourably affected because of their ignorance? Because many times people only begin to explore kundalis after many years of futile attempts. I am only a little bit sad/concerned about the fact that the time spent in ignorance, will it be counted in Saturn's hardship or will it be MINUSED from Saturn's hardship, which we will need to overcome In addition to the time spent, Not knowing about the aspect in a certain area of our life.

Hi, I'm Virgo ascendant with Saturn in 4th like you. I also saw that you have Mars in 8th house (same as me). If your 3rd house is empty (like mine is) you won't have direction to put self effort (3rd house) to earn. Virgo sign has so many obstacles. It's our life path. However, Mars is strong in your chart so you WILL overcome those obstacles.
Personally, I'm using my Mars to study astrology. I recommend watching all of cooking astrology's videos, even for sign placements you don't have. Research is key.
